It was another day of High School for Armin Arlert. He was currently chasing after the bus that he was late arriving to, while the majority of the students on board laughed at him. "Cut it out!! STOP THE BUS!!!" Eren Yeager, Armin's best friend screamed at both the students and the bus driver.
"Shut up, Yeager bombastic!!" The students scowls at Eren while continuing to laugh. "One does not simply stop the bus... for a late one." The bus driver mimicked the one does not simply quote/meme from the movie, "The Lord of the Rings".
"IF YOU DO NOT STOP THE BUS I'M GOING TO JUMP OUT THE WINDOW AND IF I SUFFER A NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE, IT'S YOUR FAULT!!!" Eren glares daggers at the bus driver while tossing threats right at him. "Eren, that's enough!!" Mikasa silences Eren. But before Eren could have a chance to argue...
"If anybody's going to jump out the window to suffer a near death experience so Armin can catch a ride on the bus... it's going to be me." Mikasa exclaims before pulling down the window to hop out.
"MIKASA!!" Cries Eren in a panic. "Oh, haaaaail no!" Whines the bus driver before forcing the bus at a stop. Once the bus comes to a sudden stop, the students who were stupidly standing on a moving bus from before, tumbles over. Some fell on the floor, some fell on top of each other, while a few caught themselves while grabbing hold of the back of the seat before them.
"WHAT IN TARNATION IS WRONG WITH YOU HOOLIGANS?!!" Hollard the bus driver, clearly upset. "WHAT IN THE NAME OF TITANS IS WRONG WITH YOU, YOU DEVIL?!" Eren screams back at the bus driver.
Luckily Mikasa has fast reflexes quicker than a stray cat, so when she did hop out the window, she landed safely on her feet. "M-Mikasa?!" Armin grabs his chest before stopping in his tracks to catch his breath.
"Without us, the bus driver will have to stop at this rate." Mikasa says quite calmly. And sure enough, what she said was true. The bus comes to a sudden stop. At last Armin can finally get on the bus and rest up.
"I-I know I probably shouldn't thank you because how risky that was, for what you did back there, but... thanks Mikasa." Armin thanked Mikasa hesitantly.
"It's no problem, Armin. The trip wouldn't be any fun without our smart tart. And besides, I couldn't allow Eren to break his neck." Mikasa says quite bluntly.
"E-Eren?!" Armin turns his attention over to Eren in a panic. "What? Something had to be done so the bus driver would stop the vehicle!" Eren outburst. "B-But Eren, that's DANGEROUS!! You could have easily got yourself seriously hurt! Or worst-!!" Cries Armin.
"I don't care. This whole field trip would be a farce without you." Eren pouts. And yes-- this is what an ordinary day for Armin Arlert is like. Shit happens, and the crazies happen.
But the only thing different about this particular day however, is that the trio aren't trapped behind the walls of Shiganshina High. Today, the trio is chilling on the bus, on their way to the laboratory business that preserves tiny insect life to learn and grow from.
The rest of the bus ride to the lab was pure hell for poor Armin. Banging on his back seat, was his bullies. They've bullied him since his childhood, they just can't find something else to occupy their time with.
They would bang on the back of Armin's seat, call him dirty names such as "Heretic", grab and tug his hair, and so on. The bullies outburst of laughter continued to echo in the back of Armin's head, giving him a horrible headache.
"Hey, leave Amin ALONE!" Growled Eren, slapping the hands of Armin's bullies away. Afterwards, Eren shoves them back down on their seat. For the rest of the ride, Armin's bullies did nothing but yelling at each other while Mikasa had to try and restrain Eren from getting into a fight. That wouldn't have things look any better on the bus driver's report card of the students misbehavior on the bus.
Armin dreaded the whole bus ride and wondered whether he would perhaps been better off chasing after the bus rather than riding it.

Finally the bus drive drove to an end. The bus parks in the lot before the lab building the class would be toured in. The bus driver was ready to speak to the students over who knows what, but the students ignored, charging out the closed bus door, forcing it open. But the only problem... the door breaks off.
"YOU HOOLIGANS!! LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE TO MY DOOOOOR!!!!!" Screams the crabby bus driver. The students upon gathering out in the parking lot, was greeted by a woman who wore a lab coat, hair pulled back in a ponytail, glasses tucked over the bridge of her nose, giving the woman four eyes.
The lady greets the students before guiding them inside to show them around the laboratory. Armin scrambles to grab out his notebook and pencil from his book bag so he could take notes of nearly everything he learns at this lab.
Armin is a nerd like that. But if only his bullies would quit pushing him around... and I don't mean that figuratively, I mean that literally. Armin bullies push and shove Armin, he nearly trips and falls, but luckily he caught himself.
"Knock it off." Eren glares a toxic glare over to Armin's bullies, which doesn't scare them a bit. But when Mikasa decided to give the bullies a glare, they knew messing with the blonde coconut, meant dealing with Mikasa Ackerman. And Mikasa means business.
The bullies back off and finally leaves Armin alone for the remainder of the field trip. "Don't worry, Ar. I have your back." Eren mummers over to Armin. "T-Thanks Eren... a-and you too, Mikasa."
"It's no problem. I have to protect my baby." Mikasa responds, both calmly and bluntly. "B-B-BABY?!!" Squeals out Armin, his shrieking voice echoing throughout the space-ish room, causing a few of the students to giggle or laugh, including his bullies.
Armin's face turns scarlet red for a moment as embarrassment overwhelmed him. But in an instant, the feeling goes away and a feeling of emptiness, weakness, and self-loathing takes him over.
A-Am ...am I really that weak...? Weak enough to be compared to a baby? And...it's not fair. Eren and Mikasa are always the ones rushing to my rescue. I've always been unable to return the favor. Weir not equals... why... why can't I be strong? To be worth something?
While these overwhelming thoughts clouded Armin's head, he was unable to detect a nearby presence... crawling closer and closer to him. Armin squints his eyes for a moment, feeling something tickle the side of his neck. But then he feels something sharp Pierce his neck. It has escaped one of the labs within it's confident.
Three of the lab researchers rushed towards Armin, asking if he was alright, and if he was hurt. "This little guy seemed to have escaped. It bit you, but there's nothing to fear-- no venom is inside em. But a bite probably would still sting just a bit."
A male lab researcher explained to Armin as he carefully removed the spider from his neck before leaving to put the insect back where it belongs.
"T-That's a relief." Armin sighed, thankful. The rest of the field trip continued normally, nothing else particularly happened that was out of the norm. But little did Armin know... the significance that spider bite would later lead to.
