He was her light. He was her shining hope. He was her heaven. He was her sanctuary. He was her everything. Until the day that she had lost him. They weren't a couple, but everyone thought so. The two were inseparable, it was impossible to separate one from the other without one or both of them throwing a tantrum.
They both had so much in common, they were nearly like siblings. And they shared many of the same dreams. During Training years they would always watch each others backs. And once they graduated and joined the Scouts, they still watched over each other. They both helped each other with work sheets in Trannie education classes, while they later helped each other his important documents once they joined the Scouts.
Each and every day they greeted each other. Maybe they couldn't talk, maybe they could spend the day together, but they would always wave or say hi. And whenever they ate in the same Mess Hall at the same exact hour as the other, they would share a table. And if one was still hungry after eating a whole serving of food, the other would share what was left of theirs with the other.
Of course, Hannah and Franz had to be the number one cutest couple during Trannie years, but when it came to them, they were second place even if they denied that they were a couple, which during those days, they honestly weren't. Although they did have deep and meaningful feelings for each other, hidden away in their own hearts.
During expeditions beyond the walls, they always had each others backs. They watched over each other, protected each other, and comforted the other if one was scared. The night after the expedition, if one were having a nightmare, the other would visit their dorm room in the Private Quarters and comfort the other til they fell asleep. The two always had a extra key to enter the others dorm room just incase one was screaming from a nightmare. It is quite common for soldiers who has ventured beyond the birdcage of the walls and those who have faced the horrid Titans to have terrible dreams to cause them to shout and wail throughout the night.
The two during their free time would teach each other about many things-- how to draw, about special battling techniques, how to avoid as many Titans in battle as possible since the key of surviving so many expeditions is to fight as least Titans as possible. They discussed many things, including their hopes for the outside world, and whether they actually believe the Ocean to truly exist.
It was obvious that the two made a very big impact on each other. They promised each other many things, especially to one day explore the world beyond the walls, free of the fear of the Titans one day. But their dreams were shattered in an instant. A Titan had devoured him on an expedition outside one day.
The spark that lit up her world, the soul that comforted and eased away her fears, the one who gave birth to her burning passion for the world beyond the walls, the one who spent nearly every day and moment with her....was gone.
Life felt meaningless to her. In fact, it didn't even feel worth living any longer. But Mikasa Ackerman, a friend, made a big influence on her. If she never spoke these word to her, she would probably be dead today.
Remember this....if you die, your memories of him will die with you.
Ever since then, Kiyomi continued to live her life with pride. She would make sure that Armin's dreams wouldn't be left to be buried with him. She would later tell many stories of the events that have come to past. But she especially told many stories of the brave soldier she one fought besides who she is proud to call her friend.
