Author's Note: I felt like writting a story that had to do with Armin and his parents, and a story where Armin is a young child so I decide to go write this. Enjoy! :D

Armin's parents was his everything. He did everything with them. His dad would carry Armin ontop his shoulders, and Armin would pretend he was flying a plane, Armin would help his mother with groceries in the shopping district, and the entire family would read books to each other onto the couch in the main room of the Arlert house.

Always, the books were about the world beyond the Walls. This was Armin's favorite books being read. And it was his mother and father's favorite as well. They would stay up reading all night, and by morning the family would be sleeping together at the same spot the sat themselves at sharing the same book.

Armin's parents had a dream-- it was the same one Armin had. It was to explore the world outside. To see what the world beyond the birdcage they were trapped inside was actually like. Was it anything like the books they would read each other? They all wanted to know.

Armin's parents had shared Armin a secret-- a secret he must never tell anyone. The secret was that Armin's parents were planning to escape beyond the walls to explore the world outside. They had a hot air balloon stored away in their basement. They were going to venture far out in the woods and launch it into the sky, and they would float far beyond the walls, perhaps even out to the sea if it truly existed.

The only person Armin shared this secret with was his best friend Eren Yeager. Both the boys shared their fastination when it came to what could lie beyond the caged City they've lived their whole lives in. Armin would show off one of his books, specifically his grandfather's book over the outside world. This one was his favorite.

Always, Armin and Eren would read the book together, talk about it, and get all excited about their dreams. When Armin told Eren about how his parents were planning on going on a trip outside the walls, how perhaps someday they should do it. That maybe, he and Eren should explore the outside world together. And maybe, they should see the Ocean together as well.

Honestly, the Ocean was more of a myth to Armin. He couldn't actually imagine it truly existing. But he wanted to believe, that deep down, it was real. So he continued to hold onto this dream of his forever.

Armin's 11th birthday was coming up. Two days from now, his mom and dad are going to go on their trip to see what really lies beyond the cage. To see whether it was anything like the books they have read.

On Armin's 11th birthday, he celebrated this day with his parents and grandfather. They did many fun things together. They ate cake, and Armin received books as presents. His family after all, knew how dearly Armin loved to read. But before devouring the cake, candles lit ontop.

Armin's mom and dad asked for Armin to make a birthday wish, while leaned close to their beloved son. He speaks his wish allowed-- he wishes to one day explore the outside world just like his parents were about to. And he also wishes for his parents to come back safely. He blows the candles.

In the end, half of his wish came true. In the far future, he indeed explores the world beyond the Walls. But his family never returns from their trip. Before they could float outside the walls in their hot air balloon, the Military Police had them shot down. But Armin never knew of this because information never gave out. Some wishes come true....while some, remains a wish.
