Attack On Titan: Living Off The Living Part 7

Eren kept running and running ever deeper and deeper through the woods. The mud would soak his boots as he splashed by it, as he continued to charge ahead, in tears.

He was confused, and didn't know what to do anymore. He was sick of hurting the people he loved...and for nothing. And he wanted to find a way to return to being a human so things could go back to how they used to be. But the answer was so far beyond reach, it may not be possible to even grasp.

Armin....I'm so sorry! Please forgive me!!

Eren kept running and running but slowly stopped himself upon hearing a ring. It sounded like a ring to a bell. He froze in his tracks in silence, hoping to hear the clatter once again. And indeed, he hears it again

He follows the sound of the ringing bell til it lead him to an old and dusty house. It looked like nobody has been in this place for ages.

He steps into the house once he managed to creak open the tight door that didn't seem to want to buge at first and he began to call out...

"Helloooo? Anybody in here? I'm not here to hurt you! I just want to talk is all." But no voice gave Eren a reply. The room was as silent as the grave.

There really wasn't anything here at all. Just a bed, cabinets full of empty boxes and bowls collecting webs, and a empty fridge. Eren wanders whatever happened to this place and the people who once lived here. It looked like nobody has lived in this house in ages.

Eren would continue calling and to only receive no answer. But then...

"Your that desperate to find a way to turn back into a human, eh?" Eren knew that voice.

Eren turns around to be faced to face with no other than the one responsible for turning him into what he was today.

"You." Spat Eren as he glared. "Remember me, do you?" The man replied. "Oh, how could I forget about the vampire who appears in my dreams every night?" Eren rolls his eyes.

"Good point." The vampire admitted. This much was at least true. "Ok, I'll tell you the secrete in turning back if we make a deal." Offered the Vampire. "Oh? What kind of a deal?"

"If you bring me someone fresh to drink from, I'll tell you the secrete in how you can turn back."

"What!? No way!! I'm not going to let you turn another person into a monster like me!! Even if I were to turn back!" Shouts Eren in both disbelief and rage.

"Oh, so no deal?"

Eren growls as he glares at the vampire as it stared at him. But Eventually the Vampire lets out a sigh.

"Aw, ok then. I'll give you one other option, but that's it. You must give me an entire glass of a Humans blood. And I want it fresh, got it?"

"Gee, you sure are feeling bloodthirsty today." Jokes Eren. "D-Don't judge me!!" The vampire blushes in embarrassment before letting out a cough.

"A-Anyways...do we have a deal?" The vampire outstretched his hand towards Eren. Eren needed a moment to think things over. Eren turns around to ponder.

So....he basically just needs to bring a full glass of fresh human blood to this guy, right? And if he does that, nobody will have to die. And the best part, he will learn the secret to turning back into a human.

"Hm....Deal." Eren makes his decision. He turns around with a hand stretched out to shake on it with the vampire. Eren turns away, but then a question pops in Eren's head and he turns around to ask.

But by time he turned around, there was nothing or nobody before him. The vampire disappeared out of thin air. No trace of the vampire was left.

"---en! --ren! Eren!!" Cried a familiar voice. Eren scrolls his gaze over by the doorway to the house, and he saw Armin and Mikasa running through. A look of relief washes over Armin's face, glad to see Eren was alright.

"Eren, thank goodness your alright! You had me worried, I had no clue where you ran off to!"

Mikasa simply has a serious but concerned expression on her face. Eren knew that at that moment, Mikasa knew everything. And if that's true, he knows that Mikasa wouldn't hesitate to offer Eren her blood in a heartbeat

Learning the truth as to how to turn back into a vampire and getting answers may become ugly, so...

"I'm sorry Armin and Mikasa. I'm going to have to ask you to head back to the City."

"Huh?"

"I'm doing this on my own from here on out. So please, just leave. I'll take care of everything from here."

"B-But Eren, please!! Stop shutting me out like this, we can work things out together and find a way! I know it!" Burst out Armin. At this point, tears we're building up in Armin's eyes.

"Armin..." Starts Eren. But he is interrupted by Mikasa, who talks next.

"Eren, weir not leaving you behind. Clearly this is way out of your hands, and this is something that should be taken care of together-- You can't do this alone. Rely on us. We'll pull through and find a way to turn you back to normal, okay?"

"You guys..."

Knowing how much Armin and Mikasa wanted to stay by Eren's side and help him get through this...it was a warm feeling. But....he didn't want to involve the two in this because he cares about them so much.

The Vampire who turned him...he's only willing to give him answers through dirty work and spilling lots of blood. And he's through with hurting his loved ones, especially Armin and Mikasa, so...

"This is goodbye, you both. But don't worry, I'll come back to you once I'm cured. And if anyone ask about me, just make something up. Your smart Armin, so I'm sure you could think up something brilliant that will fool everyone. So....goodbye." Eren bid the two before walking past them and over to the doorway.

"E-Eren...no, please...!" Armin turns around, slowly approaches Eren and tugs at his arm sleeve. Eren simply jerks his arm away from Armin and heads off, leaving Armin and Mikasa alone.

Eren has decided that this was something he had to take care of alone. So he leaves Armin and Mikasa behind but promises to return to them once he finds a way to turn back to normal. But...how could he be so sure that there truly was a way to turn back to normal? What if the vampire was lying to him...?
