It's been a while I've made a oneshot story, so I decided to write one based off the scene when Armin See's the Ocean from the Aot Manga. I'm a crazy person for having not watched the episode where Armin see's the Ocean in the Anime... What is wrong with me?! 😂 But anyway this is a idea I had before going to sleep. Sometimes before napping the night away, I get ideas for stories. Normally all ideas I daydream or think about before sleep is never remembered. I'm glad I was able to remember this idea though. Also to avoid confusion, Armin is mainly refered to as him or his throughout the story. Enjoy! 😃

Finally... he made it. He made it to the ocean. With each of his three closest friends by his side, along with all his trusted comrades who have survived up to this point.

He stares out to the distance, do smile visible. Just staring intently towards the vast sea in disbelief as though wondering if this was it and if this wasn't a dream, and whether he has truly made it at last.

He steps into the water that splashed across his feet as the current pushed the waves of blue gently onto shore. He gazes down at the water that tickled his feet, feeling stunned.

He didn't really know how he should react at this point. He never expected for both his and Eren's dream to actually come true. He had expected to have died before it came to be. But alas, that wasn't the case. He survived thanks to a miracle, and was able to come here with the ones he held most dear.

He overhears giggling from behind him, and he shifts his gaze around to see Mikasa holding her boots in each of her hands while stomping her way into the water that tickled her feet.

Kiyomi follows along with Mikasa. Kiyomi's boots were taken off as well. Except of carrying her boots like Mikasa, she left them by the Sandy shore. Both girls had smiles plastered across their faces.

He held onto what looked to be a fossil of some sorts in his bare hands. It was beautiful, that it was. And he was even able to recall what this object was called from his grandfather's old book that told of places that existed beyond the walls.

He had no choice but to leave it behind during the Attack on Shiganshina however, since nobody was allowed to bring along any personal items and they needed to make as much room on the boats for the survivors as possible.

But if he did bring it along, that could have meant the end of his life. If the soldiers saw the forbidden book the boy carried he could have been either put behind bars or executed if the soldiers had reported what they saw.

But that's not the only possible end of his life; if he had gone back for the book in his grandfather's house and attic, by then more Titans would have arrived and he'd likely encountered one and could have been eaten.

The beloved book once belonging to his dear grandfather was the last thing set on the boys mind during the attack, however. What mattered to him more than his precious book... was the lives of his two best friends Eren and Mikasa. He didn't meet Kiyomi until he joined the 104th Cadet Corps.

Ifhe hadn't got Hannes and warned the man that Eren and Mikasa was running back home for their mother... they would have been eaten by the Titans!

So... it's because he put his friends before his possession, that they are alive today. Because he took action on that day, they were able to make their childhood dream come true.

He once shared his forbidden book that held information about the outside world with Eren when they were still kids. Eren warned his friend that if any soldier caught him with that book, he'd likely face prison time. But the boy didn't care.

It was the glow in his eyes, and enthusiasm when he talked, that inspired Eren and made him curious of the world the Titans stole away from everyone living in the walls.

The two boys then made a promise... that they would one day explore the vast world together, and they'd see the ocean. And here they are. They've made it at last.

Mikasa, being Eren's constant shadow, agreed to be there with the boys when the time would come that their dream would come true. After all, the four, including Kiyomi, are like family.

Kiyomi met him during their time training in the 104th Cadet Corps. She was rather shy and quiet in the beginning, but eventually opened up to him little by little.

Him making a habit to constantly speak to her also helped her open up more. And then she met his friends Eren and Mikasa... and in time, the four became inseparable and were like family.

Looking up and turning his gaze around to see smiles plastered across Mikasa and Kiyomi's face... it was enough to make him smile too.

Kiyomi turns Mikasa around and whispers to her, to the Raven girls confusion. Armin tilted his head to the side, confusion floating in his mind. What were they whispering about...? Are they keeping secrets from him...? But why???

Kiyomi ask Mikasa if she thinks that it would be a good or bad idea for her to kiss him. Mikasa smiles and tells Kiyomi that it's a good idea, and that she should go for it.

Kiyomi walks away from Mikasa and approaches him, her face hidden downward, butterfly's flying in her stomach, she was so anxious and nervous, a little bit of fear nipping at her as well. Fear of being rejected or no longer being able to keep a friendship with the boy after this confession.

Kiyomi seemed to have wanted something from him. He was able to tell this much. But the fact she found it so hard to look him in the eyes... puzzled him. She hadn't been this way since they first met!

He calls our her name, and she instantly meets her nervous gaze with his. But... there was something special about his eyes. Kiyomi didn't know what it was, but... whenever she stares into those ocean blue eyes of his... she becomes calm. As though by magic, his presence... soothes her.

"Um... if... if you hate what I'm about to do, just shove me away, okay...?" She says timidly. He blinks, still confused. But he trusts her, so he agrees to it.

But then... she begins to take a few more steps closer to him. Out of instinct, he found himself take one step back. He wasn't used to his personal space being invaded.

His face flushed a little and it was when her face was coming closer to his, he understood it all clearly. Kiyomi gives him a gentle, short kiss on the lips, innocently.

His face flushed a deeper shade, and he felt like his mind was going crazy at this point! Was this... real? Did he really just... experience his first kiss? Something he thought he may never have?

The kiss ended too soon, and Kiyomi stepped back, her face much redder than his, fear seen in her orbs. Worried whether he hated it or not. He didn't shove her away... so...?

He simply stared at Kiyomi in a daze, while also trying to read her thoughts since she didn't say anything. But then... the huge grin she gathered her courage to give him, answered his question.

"Kiyomi..."

He steps one step forward, and returns the kiss with a passionate but gentle one, something Kiyomi accepted happily as her own dream came true.

While Armin and Kiyomi swore to see the ocean together as well, what Kiyomi truly wished for the most... was for the chance to kiss him here of all places. And more than that... for her feelings to be returned, and to be able to stay with him forever.

The lucky boy whose dream came true... who was also lucky enough to have his first kiss... was no other than the brave soldier, Armin Arlert.
