It was another day in the walled fortress humanity barricades themselves within in fear of the monstrous foe that has kept humanity on the verge of extinction for a hundred years... Titans. Titans were the ones that stood in humans path towards freedom and peace.
Life was full of trouble, fear, sacrifice, death, hopelessness and many more voices and feelings rang. Life in such a cruel world was a hard one to survive. Especially when you're in the Scouts.
The scouts are individuals who are in the army who dares to venture beyond the walls, making sacrifices in hopes of finding a ray of light for humanity's future. So people won't have to live in these walls forever. That way humans can live in peace and freedom without living in fear. One day...
For Kiyomi, it always feels like that day won't ever come. As though it is nothing more than a childish dream, a silly dream that can never come true.
Kiyomi can't get the images out of her head... all the death and chaos, along with betrayal that has happened to both her and everyone else she knows.
Sometimes the death and chaos can overwhelm the girl and she will grab her head cursing how she hates herself, despite not being at fault for any of what has happened.
She wants the hell to end. She wants peace and freedom to return. The reason she joined the Scouts was to take back her home, Wall Maria. The outerwall that was taken from humanity from the Titans...
But now, she finds herself caring less about that. All she wants now... is for the war and fighting to end. She wants to see the sea and more with her friends. To no longer live in the fear of their oppressors, the Titans who hover over them in dominance.
However, despite the world being such a dark, bleak, and cruel place... Kiyomi somewhat manages to look upward. There is a ray of sunshine that shines so beautifully... someone who is always there for her, bringing her hope when all seems lost.
It is this person who has managed to help Kiyomi see that it wasn't all pointless, and that the sacrifices up til now were not in vain. That even in such a cruel world... that there is also beauty.
This boy is Armin Arlert.
Kiyomi first met Armin during her days at the 104th cadet corps. He was the first to often approach and speak to her. Eventually, Kiyomi opened up to him and then Eren and Mikasa.
The four became close friends... and they cared about each other and always looked out for one and the other like family. It is a powerful bond they have. And hopefully that bond will never be broken...
Kiyomi had many duties she was carrying out in the walls that very day. Levi was a cleanfreak, one of her superior officers, and he ordered her to clean the barracks spotless of any dust.
Kiyomi cleaned the barracks... well, decently. Not 100% spotless like Levi would desire. You see, for most people, it is hardly possible to clean any room to its best in the eyes of Levi. Because he's simply that bad of a clean freak.
