It was another day in Shiganshina district, and Eren and Mikasa were on their way to the river side to meet up with Armin. That was always their meeting place. And Armin told the two about a day ago to meet him here and how he had a surprise to show them.
So the following day, Eren and Mikasa waited just as instructed and went to the meeting spot only to not see Armin there. He was usually the first to be sitting at this spot.
"Don't worry about it Mikasa, I'm sure Armin's just running late is all." Eren reassured his adoptive sister. "You don't think he's getting bullied, do you...?" Mikasa pondored.
"Well... I'd hope not. Or I'll have to teach those twits an unforgettable lesson!" Eren punches his fist against his hand. Eren isn't afraid of getting into fights.
"Maybe we should look for him." Mikasa voices next. "Hmm... maybe. You might be right. Come on, let's go look. Weir bound to come across him. And on the way, we can see if we can't spot those twits and get some answers out of them." Eren stands up to follow Mikasa closely. "Hm." Mikasa nods her head.
"W-Weir serious! We don't know where he is! We haven't seen him all day! S-So please... spare us!" Begs the leader to the pack of Armin's bullies.
"If I find out your lying... your as good as dead!" Eren glares harshly at the bully. But the bully wasn't terrified because of Eren questioning and glaring at him... he was terrified because of Mikasa.
Her glare was so intense, it looked like a devil looking down on its prey. How terrifying...
So the pack of bullies are let off the hook and the next place Eren and Mikasa searched was his house. Eren knocked on the door and asked about Armin.
"Oh, Armin? He's in bed. He's caught a cold." Answered Armin's grandfather. "A-A cold?!" Panics Eren. "No worries, it's nothing too serious. He will get well soon, don't threat." Smiles Armin's grandfather reassuringly.
"B-But... if he's sick... my dad could always come and treat him!" Eren comes up with. "No, no, don't trouble and drag your father into this. He's busy enough as is. And I don't believe we really have the kind of money to cover treatment right about now. So Armin shall get better in a week or two, don't you worry." Armin's grandfather waves it off.
"If you wish to pay him a visit, come and see him. He's in his room. He was so disappointed when I told him he couldn't go out today. He said he was going to visit his friends. I'm guessing those friends of his are you two? Thank you for coming to pay a visit, really."
With that, Armin's grandfather takes his leave to go up a balcony to hit a futon in order for the dust to fly off. So not the accurate way to clean a futon...
Eren knocks on Armin's door and calls out... "Armin? Armin you in here?" Rustling was heard before a tiny voice shrieked out...
"E-Eren?!"
"Mikasa's here too. We couldn't find you so we thought we'd check if you were at your house." Eren explained. "O-Oh... um, thank you for coming, but, um... p-please don't bother coming in."
"Why not?" questions Eren in confusion. "It's just, ah.... I'm sorta... sick. I don't want either of you to catch what I got." Armin explained sounding a bit anxious.
"It's fine, Armin. We don't care. Weir coming to see you." Says Eren before placing his hand onto the door knob. "B-But... ah!"
The door opens and Armin hurriedly hides underneath his pink futon covered with yellow kitty symbols all over it. And mind you, this isn't the futon his grandfather is currently cleaning.
Armin's loves warmth; and futons is his favorite kind of blanket. He wears it all season long. So it would make sense he has a bunch. He has probably received them as birthday presents, more than likely.
"Armin, what are you doing? Quit hiding." Eren says in annoyance as he steps forward with Mikasa over to the futon Armin was hidden underneath.
"B-But... I don't want you and Mikasa to catch my sickness." Armin mutters from under the covers. "Screw that, in case you had forgotten, my dads a doctor; he can easily treat us whenever. And the same goes for you too, Ar." Eren replies.
"B-But... I.. we don't have the expenses to pay for treatment right now..." Mutters Armin. "Then don't pay now. You can pay later. Whenever you're able to afford the pay." Eren decides.
"R-Really...? You... you mean that?" Armin carefully peeks his tiny head out from the covers. "Yes! And to make things even better, we can make this particular treatment free; no payment required." Eren grins.
"B-But..! N-No, that's impossible!!" Armin panics fearfully before tucking his tiny head back into his futon's delicious warmth.
"A-Armin...?! Come on, bud! It's no problem! Really!" Eren insist. "B-But... no, I--" Before Armin could even finish his sentence...
"A...A...A... ACHOOOOOO!!!!!!"
He lets out a titanic sneeze that shook the earth itself. "Armin, you no longer have a choice. Your sick, and your getting treatment if it's the last thing we do." Armin decides.
Mikasa rips Armin's futon out from over him, she places it neatly on his bed, and both Eren and the raven haired girl dragged Armin off to their house.
"Nooooooooo~!"
Armin is dragged all the way to the Yeager household, and Armin was just in luck. Eren's father, Grisha Yeager, was at the house. He would be staying for the rest of the day since he finished his appointments for that day.
"Dad! It's Armin! Do you think you can cure him?" Eren beams as he hurries over to his father while he and Mikasa continue to drag poor Armin across the ground.
"Nooooooo~!" Armin continues to cry. "I can see what I can do. What is wrong?" Asked Grisha. But then he takes notice of Armin's long noooo's. "Armin, is everything alright?" The doctor asked.
"Y-Yes...N-No... I-I mean--"
Grisha places a cool hand on Armin's forhead, instantly testing his tempature before smiling at the young boy. "You don't need to worry or to be scared of me, Armin. I'm your friend; and I'm going to help you get better. Let me guess, is it a cold?" Asked Grisha.
"Y-Yes..." Armin answered, quite surprised Grisha already figured out the sickness he had. "Cure for colds are actually quite simple and easy. Cost are very little for this kind of thing, so how about we make this treatment free?" Offers Grisha.
"R-Really..?! I mean... that's fine?!!" Armin was unable to believe his ears. "Of course it's fine. Rest easy now. I know your parents and your grandfather. They are running it tight right now, so it's the least I can do." Smiled the doc.
"Thank you!" Beams Armin happily with relief. "It's no problem!" Beams the doctor back. Eren and Miksas watched from afar, and Eren had an odd look on his face.
"...Armin was scared of my dad...?"
"Not necessarily your dad, but simply doctors in general." Mikasa answered Eren in Armin's steed. "But why...? I don't know what's to be scared of? It's not like they're Titans or nothing." Eren speaks up.
Mikasa chuckles at what Eren last said. "EREN YEAGER, you know I don't like hearing Titan talk in this house!" Scoulds Eren's mother, Carla.
"Geez, mom, I know! Sorry, yeesh!" Eren is taken aback. Grisha helps treat Armin of his cold, he gets better, and eventually Armin reveals his surprise to his two friends.
"I found a book stashed away in my grandfather's attic." Armin starts off. "Really? What kind of a book?" Inquires Eren. "A book... filled with unlimited possibilities of what could lie beyond these walls!"
