Date Night (Multi-part Story)

James's POV

I was on my phone for a bit as I sat on the floor. I was eating some cookies with a cup of milk as I was setting something up. Rebecca sat right next to me trying to spark a conversation. "Hey James, what's up?" she said. I smiled and I pointed to the ceiling fan. I knew that's not what she meant but though it was a funny joke. She laughed and so did I until she pointed at my phone.

"I'm taking about the phone silly. You've been sitting alone for a while and you said you we're going to make a move today."

"Adam seems to have a lot on his mind today. So I thought that maybe here wasn't a good place." I could already hear her groan. "So I'm setting up a date. Olive Garden maybe? I'm thinking he'll get a hint that it's a date and I'll tell him there. The environment would be perfect and we would be away from everything that was bothering him." I said pretty proud of myself.

Rebecca pulled me into a side hug. "Great job James! I'm very proud of you. I hope everything goes well. Also one more thing."

"Yeah?" I asked looking up at her as she stood up.

"Have some fun before you ask him. You worry too much and you get lost in your own mind. Take some time to have fun and then talk to him."

Rebecca and Jaiden know me so well at this point it's kinda scary. Still it was nice to hear her support. They always calm my nerves and make me feel like I have a chance. It looks like Adam also needed that.

I got off my phone to see Adam trying to throw a cookie into his mouth. He didn't get it in his mouth. I chuckle a bit as I look at him try to get it in his mouth. "Not like you could do better James." he said winking at me. It was on! I grabbed a cookie and tried to get it into my mouth. We both tried to get cookies in out mouths. It lead to several cookie pieces on the floor and lots of laughter.

I felt like it was the perfect time so I just went for it. "Hey Adam. You wanna get dinner at Olive Garden tonight. Just you and me?" I said as my face warmed up. Adam blushed a bit but he agreed. We would meet up by 7. I would pick him up and we would both go together. I was so excited!  Jaiden and Rebecca were excited too. They both wished me good luck once I dropped them both off at there houses. It was going to be a great night.

Adam's POV

"Why Adam? Why? You don't even know if meant it as a date or as a meet up." I was in bed with my head sandwiched between two pillows. I was waiting him to stop and after a while hour of him going on and on and on I was finally ready for him. Once he was done I got out of bed. "Look James meant it as a date but I'm not gonna dress all fancy."

"Great he's going to think you don't care about him. Stop treating this like it's a joke." he said.

"Ok I'll go in a tux." I say but I only hear him groan.
