Angels and Devils-(Part Twenty)

Adam's POV

I don't know how I did it, but it did. My last report card was all passing grades. My average went from a 69 to a 96! All my teachers were happy for me. Man I can't wait to tell James. As I was about to meet Rebecca I hear someone try and call me. "Adam!"

I turned around and saw Maaz standing by the door. "What's up Maaz?"

"Hey, your the highest of the class now so I need to ask you to do me a favor?"

"Which is?"

"You need to write the graduation speech." Maaz said.

I was pretty shocked yet honored that he would choose me. "I'd be happy to. What should it be about?"

"Redemption, forgiveness, learning that change is a good thing. Stuff like that."

"Oh alright sounds easy enough. When is it due?"

"The day before graduation. Which is Sunday. See ya this weekend!" Maaz said and flew off. I had to make up a speech in two fricken days! That's way too little time! How am I gonna do that?

When I got to the castle I showed James my report card. He almost tackled me to the ground. "I'm so proud of you Adam!"

"Thanks James. But now I have to do some type of speech in two days. It's about change or whatever. Maaz gave it too me last minute and I have no idea what to write."

"Maybe I can help. James suggested. I sat next to him and got to work.

James' POV

"Let's start with your background. You were in hell most of your life. Talk about that." I suggest. Adam started thinking but than stopped. "I don't know if that's a good idea, I might scare everyone. Hell is pretty dark." Adam said. "Than lighten it up a bit, tell me about hell."

"Ok. I'd wake up and find out that I'm in a completely different location. All my clothes are gone and I've been robbed. Than I would walk into my house and find it with broken windows and holes in the walls. Someone took a massive shit in the toilet and threw my breakfast in there so I ethier ate from the toilet or stay hungry. I would have to take a shower in the sink and find out someone changed the soap with bleach as it ran down and stung by di-"

"OK!" I yelled. "That's enough. Maybe less detail and let's just say it was hard to get up in the morning. How do you feel now that your here?"

"It's freaking awesome! The beds are cozy, the food is great, and the best part is that I get to be with you everyday." I felt my face heat up a bit. Adam is so sweet.

"Thanks for your help James but I wanna do this on my own. I need to prove myself." Adam said. I got up and kissed his cheek. I'm so proud of him. Before he was a loveable, funny child but today he's a that but serious and mature. That's my Adam.

At the graduation ceremony everyone was dressed up all fancy. James was in the back helping Adam get ready. "You scared?" he asked. Adam looked up at him with an unsure expression. "Kinda, but I'm really proud of what I wrote and I think I'll be ok." James smiled and gave Adam a kiss before he walked out on stage.

Once Adam stepped out a few people started whispering around. He could feel the judgement from a mile away but he didn't seem to care.

(Warning : Long Speech with a Lesson)

"Hello I'm Adam Oritz as most of you know. You all probably seem me for what I look like ; a demon, a evil spirit sent to rot in hell. That's how most people see demons and your not wrong but your also not right. There are evil demons yes, but some demons are nice and just never had a chance to redeem themselves. Redemption is possible for anyone if they want to work for it. You can't just expect to be good overnight, it takes effort, something I never had at home. It took something important to show me that and they were my friends. Jaiden, Tim, Rebecca, Maaz, and my dear Jameson showed that there was more to my life than what was shown to me. They gave me a chance to change and each I screwed up a few times, but I worked hard to fix my mistakes and that's what I'll continue to do, that's what we should do. So to the class of 2020, pave the way of change for the next class and the next generation."

James was tearing up listening to Adam's speech. Nothing has touched his heart as much as Adam did. When the ceremony was over James ran over to Adam and gave him a huge hug. "I love you so much Adam." he muffled into his shirt. "I love you too Jameson." Adam said patting his back.
