*** Jeff's POV. Continued ***

Seven hours later, the surgeon came back into the room, the English-speaking doctor right behind him.. He translated everything the surgeon said..

"Brynn is out of surgery. There were a few minor complications that we were able to repair. She's currently in the ICU." He explained. "So, is her heart condition fixed? Will she be okay once she recovers from the surgery?" I asked. He translated it for the surgeon, who started speaking in French again..

"It's fixed, but her recovery is going to be fairly extensive. Probably a few months.. Her condition was a lot worse than the MRI showed, so she will have to stay in the ICU for a while." He said. "Ok. And, the coma?" I questioned, waiting as the doctor listened to what the surgeon was saying..

"She will most likely continue to be in that state. There's no sure-fire way to know when, or if she's going to wake up." He replied. I nodded, running my hands through my hair. The surgeon said something to the doctor, and then left..

"It's good that she got that surgery when she did, Mr. Azoff. With all the times that she coded, it put a lot of strain on her heart. I don't think she would've lasted much longer." He commented. I nodded, thinking about it.  "You can bill me for the surgery and everything else. I don't want her having to worry about this." I said.

He nodded. "I'll put that on her file. You can go visit her whenever; she's on the fourth floor." He explained, before leaving the room...

I called Harry and told him everything, then went to her room in the ICU. She had the IV back in her arm, and was still hooked up to the heart monitor.. But, she was alive. That's what was important.....

*** Nine days later—- April 9, 2021 ***

•• Brynn's POV ••

I woke up to pain in my chest, and heard beeping from somewhere in the room. I groaned, taking a minute to adjust to the loud beeping next to me. I slowly opened my eyes, worried there would be a bright fluorescent light on, waiting to blind me. But the room was mostly dark, with just a bit of light coming through the small window in the door..

It took my eyes a few minutes to adjust. I was still pretty tired, and my vision was blurry. I waited for it to clear, then looked around a little.. I was in a different room now, which greatly confused me.

Harry was asleep next to me on the bed, but surprisingly wasn't touching me. I saw his phone on the side-table nearest to me, and managed to reach it. I had to unplug it from the charger, and turned it on.

I saw that it was four in the morning, and had to look at the date five times before realizing that over three weeks had passed... It took me a few minutes to process the fact that I had to have been in a coma, before feeling the pain in my chest again.
I brought my hand up, seeing that I was back in a hospital gown, and that there were bandages over where my heart is. Why did my chest hurt? And why were there bandages there?

I was exhausted, despite having been asleep for the last three weeks. I put Harry's phone down on the bed, and glanced over at him. I hesitated, before moving closer to him, since it was absolutely freezing in here.. I pushed a hand through my hair, before slowly linking my arm around his. He didn't move or anything, so I shut my eyes, and felt myself easily fall back asleep...

**A few hours later—9:17AM**

I briefly woke up to voices, but didn't move or open my eyes. I felt my arm still intertwined with Harry's. "Okay, Jeff I promise you, I didn't do this. I know she doesn't like being touched, so I haven't been touching her when I sleep here." I heard him say.
