Chapter 4

"Well this is my stop," I said looking inside the class. I looked back at Nathan and he was ruffling his blonde hair.

It made my heart skip a beat. "What um what are you doing on the weekend?" Nathan asked me as he grabbed his books that stumbled onto the floor.

I picked up his notebook and handed it back to him, "I'm not sure. Maybe nothing. Why?" Why were my hands becoming sweaty? I barely knew Nathan..

"Oh, I was wondering if you wanted to go see a movie. We should get to know each other better since we are going to be classmates this semester," he smirked.

I lightly punched his arm, "Hey, don't get any ideas. But I think that's a good idea. I'll let you know." Nathan went and opened the door for me, "You should go in right?"

I couldn't stop thinking about Nathan holding the door for me. Did I actually find him attractive or was it just infatuation?

I needed to find out in order to move on with my life. I just had to.

BRIAN'S POV

I didn't even know where I would find her except that I needed to drive. I send a text to Nick telling him I was going to look for her. I didn't want to worry him or the others.

As I drove in the middle of the night I remembered when we took a drive and it ended up bad.

"I love our drives together. I feel safe with you, "Annie softly said to me. I looked over at her as I drove and she was so beautiful. I couldn't believe she was mine.

"So do I," I said as I grabbed her hand and intertwined our fingers. Her hand was cold and so I held onto her hand even tighter.

"I know our two year anniversary is coming, but I want to give you something," I smiled at her. I let go of her hand and tried to look for what I was going to give her.

I remembered it had dropped to the floor where the pedals were. Without thinking, I bent down to grab the present.

I tired to keep my eyes on the road, but I needed to look down. And because I looked it was my fault we got into that accident.

"ANNIE..ANNIE.."

I began to feel tears in my eyes as I recalled that memory. I should have waited to give her that present later. She got hurt because of me..

After a few hours of driving nowhere, a sign of a college appeared on the road. Then I remembered what Nick showed me last month.

"Brian look it's Annie," Nick told me handing me his phone. I grabbed it and saw Annie's Facebook profile. "That's her right?" Nick asked me. I nodded, "Yeah that's her. But how did you find her?"

Nick sat next to me, "I was scrolling through my feed and she popped out in my friend recommendation. I knew she looked familiar.."

I didn't say anything except stare at her picture. She was more stunning than ever. My eyes went down her page and saw her information.

I saw she was in a university now and if she was single or not.

Cal State Fullerton. That's where she went.

That's it! Fullerton. I think that was in California if I wasn't mistaken.

That's where I needed to go.

I headed back to the party and as I came out of the car a few fans saw me.

"BRIAN! OVER HERE!" they were shouting at me. I waved at them as I went through the secret door.

As I went in I saw Kevin was still there. "What happened? I was going to go find you."

"I'm sorry I rushed out like that. But I have found my answer Kevin. It's Annie," I sounded desperate.

"Whoa..slow down. What do you mean?" Kevin made me sit down.

"I went on a drive and remembered Annie's college. When Nick showed me her Facebook page," I tried to explain.

"Brian, I know you want to find her, but you have our fans. The fans need you, the Backstreet Boys need you," Kevin said in a soft tone.

"I know what you're thinking, but I must find her Kevin. I need to tell her what happened that day," my heart began to break.

Kevin closed his eyes trying to keep his parent side calm, "I think we should all talk about this as a group. You need to tell the others."

He was right. If I wanted to find Anne then I also needed to compromise with my brothers.

I wasn't going to fail again.
