Chapter 19

NATHAN'S POV

"N-Nathan?" a voice said as they passed me by.

I stopped in my tracks and saw the blonde haired girl. She touched my arm.

"Is that you? she said in her thick British accent.

I couldn't run away so I looked at her, "Yeah it's me. Who are you?"

She sighed, "It's me, Reina, remember?"

I slightly squinted and finally recognized her. It was my ex. What was she doing in Fullerton?

"Oh I remember now. How have you been? Long time no see," I said casually.

"It's been 4 years, yeah. I'm alright. Just here for a photoshoot. What about you?" She fixed her hair.

I put my hand in my pants pocket, "Really? Wow how exciting. I'm-I'm just here..visiting.." I couldn't let her know the real reason why I was here.

She nodded," We should catch up sometime. Are you free now?"

"Well ..I uh.." I stuttered.

She wiggled her finger, "No darling you can't say no to me. Come on."

By the time I realized she dragged me to a coffee place. I could feel the anxiety rising in me. I felt like people were watching me.

We stood in line to order our coffee, "What will you get?" Reina asked me.

I quickly glanced at the menu trying to avoid other's eye contact. As we are next I glanced over to my left and saw a girl with one of my t-shirt merchandise.

I widened my eyes and began to act weird. I shifted my whole body toward Reina. It looked as if I was protecting her.

"What's wrong?" She skimmed my body.

"N-nothing. Is it alright if you order for me? I want a latte. I'll be outside," I quickly said and went out.

I sat down in a table that had a huge umbrella.

I took out my phone and send a message to Annie.

Me: I'm sorry something has come up. I won't be going over..

What if she thought I was playing her? I wasn't.. I hit send.

I put my phone away and tried to mess up my hair.

The coffee place door rang when the girl with my shirt came out. I looked away trying not to make her see I was there.

"Ahhhh!! Nathan? Is that really you?" the girl said.

OHH NO..

She took out her phone, "Can we take a picture?"

I nodded, I couldn't say no to my dedicated fan. I signed her phone case. She didn't ask me anything about me being on hiatus. Maybe she was too excited to see me she forgot.

Let's hope that was the reason.

Moments later Reina came out with our coffees, "Here you are. I ordered it with extra ice just like you like it."

She still remembered.

She sat in front of me, "So what's new with you?" She took a sip of her iced coffee.

I played with my straw, "Not much..just here I guess."

"Mm this is good. Are you still making music? When we are together you were still writing your album.." she flipped her hair back.

"Yeah I finished it. You never heard it?" I asked shocked.

"You told me you didn't want me to hear it. After we broke up I tried not to hear it," she explained.

Ohh our break up. That was harsh.

I took a sip of my latte," Right."

"Why did we break up? After you left I wanted to give us another chance.." she looked at me with her green olive eyes.

"I guess..I guess we just weren't for each other," I shrugged.

"Would you give us another chance?" She asked me out of the blue.

"Look Reina..I like someone at the moment. I don't know what your deal is, but I just don't love you anymore ok?" I felt heat inside me.

"Calm down. I was just asking. We are catching up," she smiled at me.

We are caught up alright.

We sat there until Reina had ordered more beverages. It was already getting late.

But she kept talking about her photoshoot and that I should go watch her.

"Here's my card," she handed it to me.

I looked at it and it had her number. It also has the address of her business.

We walked a few blocks away from the coffee place. As we walked I felt her hand brush against mine. I put my hands in my pocket.

"Do you live around here?" I asked looking around.

"Yeah. You know where we met when you asked me who I was. I live there. Do you want to walk me?" She said turning to me.

I nodded, "Sure."

As we walked there I realized that Annie lived around there too. Oh no why was everything falling apart?

I just hoped Annie wouldn't come out at all from her place...
