Madeline came back to her seat, "Just wait till the concert is over!" I wonder what she meant by that... Did she have another surprise for me?
The concert was quicker than I thought. Once the stadium lights came on everyone was exhausted. "What a show!" Madeline's voice cracked. Her voice was groggy since she had been screaming all night.
I got my bag and Madeline sat in her seat, "Sit, just wait." Maybe she wanted for all the people to leave so we could pass. I sat down and laid my head on the seat.
"I'm so thirsty, but that was fun," Madeline began saying in her cracked up voice. We waited until our section was completely empty.
Madeline grabbed my hand and got up. She led me out of our section and near the stage entrance. "Madeline where are we going? This isn't the way to the car," I said trying to lead her out of there.
She signaled me with her hand to wait, "We are expected backstage," she said twirling the rose in the security guard's face.
"Ha ha Madeline very funny. You are going to get us in trouble, now let's go," I let go of her hand.
The security guard then nodded and opened the backstage door for us. "Right down the hallway and to your right," he signaled with his hand.
"Thank you," Madeline said grabbing my hand again. We entered the hallway, "Madeline what's going on?"
"Well..you know how after they brought me up there, Nick whispered in my ear? Well, he said to show this rose to the security guard and we would get a meet and greet with them!" She squealed.
I stopped in my tracks, "WHAT?!" Madeline put a hand over my mouth, "Shh they'll kick us out. Nick said we would get to meet the Backstreet Boys!"
I gulp and wanted to run out of there, "Madeline it's late and..I'm tired.."
"Annie don't be a party pooper. Plus we aren't going home right away. Um let's just say we got a hotel.." She quickly said.
"A hotel? You mean we aren't going back home? Madeline!" I stomped my foot.
"Shhh Annie.. they'll.." A voice interrupted her.
"Ahhh there you are," said a familiar voice.
We were lead into the Backstreet Boys backstage room by the one and only Nick Carter.
"I am glad you decided to drop by," he said closing the door behind us.
Aj, Kevin and Howie were all there in the room. I felt my body shake. My heart felt like it was going to explode.
"What a show! I really loved it!" Madeline said licking her lips after every word.
Howie raised an eyebrow, "Are you alright?" Madeline nodded "Yeah I'm just thirsty."
Kevin grabbed a water from their mini fridge and handed it to her. "Would you like one as well?" He said looking at me.
"N-no thank you," I said trying not to look directly at him.
"So what was your favorite song?" Aj asked trying to break the awkwardness in the room. Madeline gasped after taking big gulps of water, "You guys have so many hits I can't decide!"
"And what about you? You have heard ours albums.. haven't you?" Nick asked me. I felt like he was teasing me. He knew what he was doing.
I shrugged, "They're all good."
"Please sit," Aj motioned us to sit down. We sat down and it felt good since my legs were tired.
"I'll be back. I have to take a call," Nick said leaving the room.
I realized we were left in the room with 3 Backstreet Boys. And one knew exactly what happened with me and Brian.
BRIAN'S POV
"Backstreet's Back allrrigghhtt!" I sang along with the radio. I had been listening to the concert over the radio.
Hours into my road trip my gas blinker turned red. I knew I had to get gas some time.
I drove out of the freeway and looked for a gas station. There had to be one near by.
I drove looking for one. I had to pull over on the curb to google the gas station directions. It redirected me on another route.
After a few minutes of driving on the road I had found the gas station. I pulled in and put gas.
It was empty so there wasn't much people around. With the dark no one really recognized me.
After paying I got into my car and went on the freeway again.
My phone began to ring and I didn't answer since it was dangerous.
When it was safe to do so I pulled on the side of the freeway and redialed my precious caller.
"Hello?" said the voice that had called me. It was Nick.
"What's up? Did you call me?" I asked as I turned off my engine.
"I did. How are you man?" He said. "Well I'm alright. I pulled over to call you back," I said looking out my car window.
"Oh, right because you're driving," he chuckled.
"Yeah so what happened? Everything ok?" I asked him.
"Um yeah everything's ok, but I think you should turn back..." his voice got quiet.
"Turn back? Why? Nick.. you know how long I've been waiting for this, right now?" Did he really want me to turn back?
"No, I know. But there's something here..that has come. Maybe it's fate. I'm not sure," he mumbled a little.
"What do you mean Nick? Did something happen on stage?" I said as I outlined the steering wheel.
"No, no! Everyone is good. It's just that.." he stopped.
"That what? Nick just tell me already," he was making me anxious.
"Ok. You know how we bring a fan on stage? Well that fan has a friend that we know. That you know," he emphasized.
"A friend? Who?" I said fixing myself on the seat.
"Brian! It's Annie. She's here. She's in our backstage room right now," he got louder.
My heart began to skip beats, "Are you sure that's her?"
"Yes! I never forget a face. Brian I'm telling you she's here! Annie is with us," Nick explained.
I didn't know what to say. I was speechless. After so much planning to get her she goes to where I am at.
Was this really fate? Or was it something else?
