"Sorry for the wait. That should be the exact amount." Jeong Hyeok said to the cashier, before passing the bottle of tomato juice to Se-ri.
OMO. What was going on?
Dumbly, she took the chilled bottle from his hands, still unable to react to the fact that the man whom she had been longing to meet throughout the entire year, was currently just by her side.
"Where are your belongings?"
Still dumbfounded, she had pointed to an empty table at a corner where her luggage was placed.
After one long year of not seeing him, Se-ri was once again overwhelmed by just how devastatingly handsome he was, and how their height difference always made her feel so small and protected by his side.
Clad in a marle grey fleece pullover with hints of a white sweatshirt underneath, paired with slightly tapered black jersey cotton pants, Jeong Hyeok was effortlessly looking every bit the stylish traveler.
"I've missed you."
"I knew it was you." Se-ri quietly said, unable to tear her eyes away from his face. "No one else here would call me by that funny name."
It had been one of their conversations on their last full day together before they had parted ways in the previous year.
Back then, when faced with the painful emptiness of their impending separation, Jeong Hyeok had joked that he would have to remember to address her by that name.
Se-ri added in a small voice. "You still remember."
He nodded with a small smile, before reaching for the bottle of juice to twist the bottle cap off for her.
She still had her eyes fixed on him, apprehension swimming in those mahogany depths.
It had happened in her nightmares before; she had blinked and then he was gone. No amount of crying had brought Jeong Hyeok back to her dreams.
"I remember a lot of things about you, Yoon Se-ri."
