"...Jin-ah, give that back!"

"No! Mommy said I can share your LEGO set when I want!"

"Yes she said that, but I need that block to complete the bridge! Daddy, Jin-ah is being a bully!"

Se-ri stirred in her bed, groaning as she pressed a cool hand to her forehead.

The fresh smell of coffee wafted through the apartment, the smell that separates night from day.

She knew this feeling; the heavy, hazy fog in her head, and that slow throb that made her feel like she was stuck in an overcrowded club.

Her throat was dry, to the point of feeling scratchy.

She might have drank a little bit too much soju last night.

Of course, the lack of sleep played a large part too.

Happy problems, Se-ri thought, as she grudgingly pulled herself up into a sitting position to head to the bathroom to wash up.

No matter how tired, the mom life has got to go on. She'd better head out before Jeong Hwan and Jin-ah start fighting.

Or more specifically, before her little bully Jin-ah tries to smack her comparatively more docile firstborn.

Trudging out of the bedroom, the heiress made her way to the kitchen and living room area where Jeong Hyeok was already playing referee.

"Jin-ah, why don't you help your brother complete the bridge using that block-"

"What's going on? You kids better stop fighting because Yoon Se-ri is back in the game." The heiress announced her own arrival with her usual sass. "Good morning, everyone."

"Good morning, Mommy! We are not fighting!" Jin-ah rushed over after releasing the LEGO block in her hand, throwing herself into Se-ri's embrace.

The five year-old was definitely a chip of the old block that was her mother; she knew to use her cuteness as a get-out-of-jail-free card.

Hurrying over to retrieve the block that Jin-ah had clearly forgotten about, Jeong Hwan called out "Good morning, Mommy!" before going back to the LEGO bridge he was building.

Greeting Jeong Hyeok with a warm hug, Se-ri leaned heavily into her husband with a small groan.

"Good morning, Yeobo. I need Ri Jeong Hyeok's signature coffee right now. Thank you for playing referee to the monkeys."

"No problem. Did you have a good rest?" Jeong Hyeok planted a soft kiss on the top of his wife's head.

"Not too bad. But I need coffee before I chew someone's head off."

With Se-ri now in the same space, Jeong Hwan and Jin-ah knew better than to fight.

Mommy was a lot, a lot scarier than Daddy when she was angry.
