Hero Rankings...

(Kailum's POV)

I stood in the back room of the stadium, it is the day of new hero rankings, I got a letter from the government stating my new position in the hero rankings. I was now the no.2 hero. I hadn't gotten the chance to tell Ash, or Adrian but I don't think Adrian needs to know about something when he is busy with school. 

Bakugo has been watching over him while I try an figure out that Prophecy that will apparently end with people dying and this entire society collapsing. Why did my son have to be cursed with this fate, can't he live a normal life?

He's been through enough...

A sigh escaped me as I rubbed my beard, then I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned my gaze to see Enji Todoroki. He was wearing his latest hero suit, new gauntlets, more combat style, when I looked into his eyes, there was something different than before. He wasn't scowling and lacked the natural glare he usually looked at me with before hand. 

"Hikaru, may I speak with you for a moment?"

A small nod came from me and he sighed, he seemed so different than before. This change started when All For One was defeated but was actually noticeable when he visited the remedial classes for those who missed out on their provisional hero license. Adrian didn't attend those classes, but will still be able to take their final exam because of his circumstances. 

"I would first like to formally apologies for the way I've treated you in the past" He averted his gaze, "I know that you are remarkable at your job and the way I used the death of your daughter and ex-wife to insult you was uncalled for and I realise that I had no right" He took a breath, this had been on his mind for quite a while. 

"If I'm ever going to be a worthy no.1 hero, then I need to realise my past mistakes" 

"Where is this coming from?" 

He took a deep breath, "I guess this all started when that skeleton fought All For One, when your son fought to the point of death. I'm still unable to grasp how my son is with another male. But... I want to try. To be who I should've been"

He wants to be a father again...

My light chuckle escape my throat, "It takes some time to get used to, but give it some time and you'll be able to see your son's way of life as a natural concept. My son is dating Bakugo of all people and I'm proud of him" 

He nodded thoughtfully, "I think it would be wise to join forces in the future. We could make quite the team" Enji held out his hand to me,I grinned and shook it firmly. "By the way. Call me Kailum, you've known me for years" His head moved into a nod, accepting the invitation.

It was finally time for the Hero rankings to offically released, the top 10 heroes walked out onto the stage, I stood between Endeavor and Hawks. Hawks was a young hero with dirty blonde hair, his smug smirk radiated confidence and he seemed generally cocky for a hero. But, I couldn't argue, his results as a hero got him the position he is in now. 

"Welcome all! Today is finally the day, the day of the Annual Hero Ranks to be releasd! This year is a littl different because we have all the Top 10 heroes here today and this will be the first ranking without All Might for a long time!" 

I stared forward, a gentle smile was on my face, staring at the crowd. My eyes flicked to Endeavor, he wasn't smiling. "You know a smile does help in a lot of situations" I whispered. He grunted in response, still not smiling. 

Did he forget how to smile?...

The rankings moved from 10 to 1, everyone having their own speech, all of them saying that they will continue to protect society to the best of their ability. Eventually, it reached Hawks. The new No.3 hero. The devious smirk was making me uneasy, he ws going to say something uncalled for.
