Ha! We're back with an escape scene!

----------------------------------------------------------

I could hear Gloaming roaring as I ran down the hall, The other villain right beside me.

''Stick close to the wall, There's going to be a guard at the post up ahead'' Phantom warned, His hand resting on my shoulder.

I nodded before mentally facepalming, He still couldn't see in this amount of darkness.

''Got it'' I whispered quietly, Moving to stand in the much darker shadows along the walls.

I watched as the other villain took a few steps forwards before a dark trembling ooze started to form around his feet.

I watched in. . . Slight horror as it grew and morphed into a more human shaped form.

I felt like gagging as I watched it hobble/walk towards the end of the hallway.

It did not seem even remotely natural.

Watching it move felt very wrong, Like watching a severed lizard tail squirm after it's been torn from the body.

As soon as it turned the corner, A bolt of lightening struck it, Reducing it to whatever the hell kinda liquid it came from.

Whoever had made the lightning turned the corner, Ready to strike out at us before Phantom reached up, Lightly touching the hero on his forehead.

The hero's body went limp before they fell to the ground, The only sign of life being the slow rise and fall of their chest.

''Woah. . . That was disturbing. . . But cool'' I whispered to phantom as I grabbed onto his hand, Going back to guiding the man through the pitch black complex.

He let out a slightly awkward chuckle, Rubbing nervously at the back of his neck as he stumbled along behind me.

''Yeah it can be. . . A bit unnerving'' He admitted, Sounding a bit sheepish about that.

A small smile formed on my face before I reached back out mentally towards Gloaming.

He was right above us.

''Brace yourself, The ceiling's about to crumble'' I warned him as I felt Gloaming notice our position.

Sure enough, The dragon, Unlike me, Held no respect what so ever for the poor building.

I felt Gloaming tear my shadows from me, Taking control of them to start bashing through the floor.

Just like in every horror film however, As soon as my powers were taken from me, Danger appeared.

In the form of a certain light based hero.

Golden. . .

My heart sunk as his eyes trained on me.

His lights lit the area up with nearly painful brightness as somehow sharp looking ropes of light lashed out towards me.

I braced myself, Preparing for the sting of pain I was sure I'd feel from sharp-ish looking ropes moving at such high speeds.

However, They never touched me.

Instead, They stopped a few inches from my face, As if they had hit some sort of unseen wall.

Golden and I stared at each other in shock, A look of stunned surprise on his face.

Confusion swam through me, Keeping me in place as my mind tried to piece out how the hell I wasn't writhing in pain, Wrapped up in light ropes right now.
