'What a sad day' Eige muttered as I made my way towards my work.

As of today, My medical leave was up, Meaning I had to get out of bed and get dressed for work all while my sweet, Darling boyfriend slept peacefully, Having been completely worn out from our 'Nighttime activities'.

He had looked so peaceful, His lips parted ever so slightly, Very faint and quiet little snores escaping him every now and then as he slept.

After taking a shower, I returned to find him awake and sad that I had to stop cuddling.

We had spent some time briefly making out before I had to leave for work.

'I miss Ian' Cali chirped out sadly.

None of us were taking even such a short separation too well, Missing seeing him, Missing talking to him. . .Missing just being in the same room as him.

'We are so whipped.' Tene sighed out, Equally remorseful over having to leave our sweet boyfriend's side.

''Wow, You look like shit'' Kate called out as soon as I stepped through the employee entrance.

''Gee, Thanks'' I grumbled back sarcastically.

''You doing okay? Aren't you still healing?'' Jake, My kind, Giant of a friend and coworker asked from where he was setting about brewing the first pots of coffee for the day.

''People with powers heal a lot quicker than normal people sweetie'' Kate informed her boyfriend, All the while, Handing me a fresh baked cinnamon roll, Whispering something along the lines of 'You look hungry, Here'.

''Yeah, It's a small blessing considering how many times we get hurt in the day by day, If we didn't have sped up healing we'd all be in comas by now'' I added on, Only partly joking.

My dragons slipped out of my bag, Hiding around the shop as per usual.

''Well. . .I'm glad you're at least doing better. . .You look pretty tired'' Jake pointed out worriedly, Moving aside as I joined him in getting everything ready for the day.

''I accidently got used to sleeping in with my boyfriend. . .Leaving him, Even just for work kinda sucks'' I sighed out, Finishing setting up the shop and taking up my place at the counter while I spoke.

Kate gave me a sympathetic pat on my shoulder, Making her way to the front of the shop.

''Now you know what it's like to be in a good relationship'' Kate called back to me, Switching the sign to say 'Open', Letting the flood of early morning customers in.

I set about tending to customers all while my dragons quietly lamented over having to be here, Dealing with cranky and annoying people, When we could damn well be at home, Cuddling and watching early morning cartoons with Ian.

Eventually, The flow of people started to settle down, The customers entering were still very entitled and annoying, But there were less of them now so that was at least a bit better.

I was pretending to be busy so I could catch a brief break when the bell above the door rung quietly.

Thinking nothing of it, I continued to pretend to clean one of the coffee machines, So no one would ask me to take their order.

'If one more person yells at us for not making their coffee quick enough, I will start ripping faces off' Tene grumbled from where he was hiding under the coffee shop's old jukebox.

He was in a cranky mood thanks to all the bullshit that we've had to deal with these past few hours.

Cali had gone back to sleep pretty quickly after we arrived, So we didn't have his cheerful comments to keep our spirits up.

And Eige was-

''You look pretty tired, Spent the night doing your. . .Shadow thing?'' A familiar, Slightly raspy but still velvety voice questioned quietly.

Daxon. . .

Why today. . .

Letting out a tired sigh, I turned to face the overly bright man.

''Nope. . .The usual companies I mess with have been keeping their heads down lately'' I answered back, Equally quiet, The ambient music from the jukebox added onto the chatter of the other customers easily muffling our conversation from prying ears.

'Bullshit, We've been too distracted spending time with Ian that we haven't been dealing with our usual targets' Tene called out, Amusement hiding in his voice when I grimaced slightly.

'We really do need to get back to dealing with them again. . .Who knows how many have suffered at their hands while we were away' Eige pointed out from where he was hiding in one of the planter pots we had hanging from the ceiling.

Daxon hummed quietly at my statement, Pausing to take a sip of his coffee.

''How's Ian doing? I heard he was released from the hospital yesterday'' He questioned, Genuine concern in his voice.

Some of the tension started to ease from my shoulders.

At least we have something in common. . .We both care about him. . .

''He's doing okay. . .Pretty tired from the whole ordeal, But he hasn't been suffering any side effects or anything like that. . .Thankfully'' I assured, My heart giving an involuntary flutter at the relieved smile that formed on the hero's face.

''That's good to hear. . .And you? Are you doing alright? I mean no offense by this but, You seem like the type to forgo your own comfort and health to make sure others are okay'' He murmured, His question seeming innocent but his gaze was clearly searching for a reaction.

'He hit the nail on the head with that one!' Tene cackled out, Earning a glare in his vague direction from me.

''I am also alright, No need to worry'' I grumbled, Trying to put on an indifferent mask as he seemingly studied my face.

He hummed at that, Nodding slightly before his phone started to buzz quietly.

''Ah, Sorry, I've got to tend to something'' He apologized after taking a look at his phone, Starting to get up while he spoke.

'Corbi! Remember! Destined soulmates! Ask him! Ask him to attack!' Cali chirped out from his hiding spot, Having woken up during our conversation.

''Um. . .Before you go. . .Will you stop by my apartment later tonight, There's something Ian and I need to ask you'' I called out to him just as he started to head for the door.

A few people gave the two of us odd looks. . .The looks mostly aimed at me as many others had started to notice that Daxon was here, Most of them star struck or something very similar.

''Of course, Have a good day Corbin'' He responded warmly, A confused look briefly flashing across his face before he gave me a smile.

And just like that, He was out the door and heading who knows where.

Guess we've got a date then. . .

'Don't call it that, For the love of god, Anything but that' Tene muttered.
