I remained hiding in the bathroom, The sound of my dad pacing back and forth outside the door being the only sound I could hear.

Eventually, After a long moment of tense silence, There was a loud knock on the front door.

I listened as my dad's footsteps approached the front door.

There was the sound of the door opening before my dad stepped outside and the door closed.

I held my breath, Tears slipping down my face as three small kitten sized dragons slowly slipped out of my coat.

They didn't make a sound as the three of them hurried to hide among the items in the bathroom.

I could feel my breathing hitch slightly with a small sob, The simple sound seeming as loud as a gunshot in the quiet bathroom.

Eventually, After what seemed like an eternity, The sound of the front door opening again reached my ears.

I swallowed nervously, My whole body tensing up as I finally raised my eyes.

My dad slowly opened the bathroom door, A grim look on his face.

''I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean to'' I squeaked out, My voice breaking slightly with small hiccupped sobs.

My dad let out a heavy sigh, His eyes closing briefly, The dark circles under them spoke volumes about the lack of sleep he was getting.

''Go start packing your stuff'' He muttered quietly as he ran his hand through his hair, Letting out a stressed sigh as he did so.

I could feel an anxious bundle of emotions forming inside me, Tangling with the shame and sorrow I was feeling.

Nodding slightly, I headed for the door before my dad's voice stopped me.

''And Corbin'' He said, Waiting to continue until I was looking back towards him.

''I'm not mad at you, I know you weren't the one in the wrong'' He whispered quietly, His back still turned towards me.

''I-I really am sorry, I didn't mean to mess up. . .'' I whispered quietly, Looking down at the floor, Shame bubbling up in my chest.

''You didn't mess up. . .All those people who ingrained 'these powers are evil and these powers are good' thinking into society are the ones who messed up'' My dad muttered as he turned around to face me, The sorrowful expression hiding behind his eyes made my heart clench.

I hesitantly held my arms open, The tears that had been brimming in my eyes spilling out over the edge.

My dad pulled me into a hug, His arms holding me close.

''I'm so sorry that I brought into such a messed up world. . .'' My dad whispered quietly as he held me close.

Running through the street, I turned corners quickly.

Gotta find dad. . .Gotta find dad. . .

Ducking, I dodged a pillar of Ice that had been aimed right at my head.

Risking a glance back, I felt my heart sink as the Hero that was chasing me was a lot closer than before.

'Corbin, Take a sharp left and duck down' Eige barked into my mind, His voice urgent.
