Chapter 6: Normal?

A'ight, Here we go!

I stared at the shadows as they swirled around absently, Trying to get some sleep.

As tired as I was at first, I had woken up quite a bit when one of Lily's creatures managed to sneak into my apartment.

There was a short fight before my shadows and I had managed to drive it out.

I sighed, Getting up off of the small worn out couch I had been sleeping on.

Guess I'm just not gonna sleep tonight. . .

I felt a shiver of discomfort run up my back as I placed my blanket back down onto the couch.

Glancing around, I spotted a small sliver of moonlight resting on Tene's back as the small dark grey dragon laid curled up on the pillow I had been using just seconds ago, Sleeping soundly.

A small lopsided smile formed on my face, I walked back over to the couch and tucked the blanket over the sleeping dragon, Hiding him from the light and dispersing the discomfort.

As I walked further into my apartment I heard a faint purr coming from the Grey dragon back on the couch.

And he says he's not a softy. . .

I let out a quiet chuckle as I turned my attention back to the closed bedroom door before me.

I reached out to the shadows on the other side of the door, Making sure the person on the other side was dressed.

Feeling around, I only felt minimal movement on the bed, Something that could easily just be someone breathing.

I placed my hand on the doorknob, Slowly and carefully opening the door I remained mindful of the amount of noise I was making.

The sight on the other side was worth the effort put into not making noise in this rundown excuse for a apartment.

Lily was quietly sleeping in my bed, Her arms wrapped around a happily sleeping Cali, Hugging him close like little kids do with stuffed animals.

I felt a warm feeling bloom in my chest, A small smile on my face as I leaned on the dimly lit door frame, Watching over the sleeping kid.

'Reminds me of us when we were young' Eige said calmly beside me making me jump.

I hurried to cover my mouth to stop a 'Manly' scream from coming out, I hadn't been paying enough attention to my surroundings and had been horribly caught off guard.

I placed my hand over my racing heart as Eige floated up to hover in front of my face.

'Sorry about that, Thought you saw me' He apologized quietly, A feeling of amusement floating across our bond as he spoke.

''Mhmm, Sure you did'' I muttered back quietly, The small smile returning to my face as I turned my attention back to Lily.

'Remember when we were as scared and alone as she was?' 

''Yeah. . . Guess that's why I brought her here. . .''

'What do you mean?'

''I just. . . I know how hellish the world can be to a young villain. . . Hell, It's even hellish to older ones. . .''

'And you don't want to let someone go through what we went if you can stop it. . .' Eige finished for me.

I glanced over at him, My smile turning sad, ''You could always read me like a book. . .'' I muttered, Reaching up to pet his head as he landed on my shoulder.

'I am a part of you, I know you as well as you do' He responded as I walked back to the 'Family room' of my apartment.

''I know. . .'' I muttered as I reached out to the curtain shielding us from the moonlight, Moving it aside enough so I could look out at the never sleeping city lit up only by the streetlights and the golden glowing moon above.

The stars were no where in sight, Hidden by the light pollution of our bustling home, The only sign of the stunning colors I was told made up the sky was the slight ombre fade from a warm dull orange to the peacefully dark purplish blue of the night.

A sigh escaped me as I ignored the slight itchy feeling I was having in my eyes from staring at the too bright lights of the city.

''Why were you up anyways Eige?'' I asked absently.

Huh, Wonder if mr salt and pepper hair is watching the city tonight too. . .

I frowned slightly, My brows furrowing in confusion.

Why did I think that?

'For some reason. . . I can't get the weird man at the coffee shop off my mind, Something didn't sit right with me about him. . .'

''That makes two of us-'' I started to say before my phone buzzed.

I frowned and picked the annoying flip phone out of my pocket while Eige moved out of the light zone.

As the slow piece of junk loaded the most recent text I walked back over to the couch, Sitting down next to a slowly waking up Tene.

'Wha-' Tene started to say before yawning, His tiny whiskers laying back against his face as he did so.

''Someone needs our help. . .'' I muttered, The name at the top of my contact list still not loading, Only the message.

Corb, Shit's going down on s side of Canary street

Two H's, No backup

Staring at the rushed texts I still had no clue witch of my friends sent it, All I knew is I was being roped into another goody two shoes task.

And here I thought being a villain would be easy. . .

 Sighing, I got up, Grabbing my costume from my duffle bag and starting to change my clothes to put it on.

'Let me guess, Friend needs help?' Eige asked, Hopping onto the floor next to me.

''Yup, Guard Lily and Cali okay?'' I said hurriedly as I opened the window I had just been looking out of.

The trust worthy dragon gave me a small nod, 'Good luck, Be safe okay?' He requested.

''Always, Tene! Ready for some possible blood shed?'' I checked as the dark grey dragon leaped into my duffle bag with normal clothes in it.

'Heh, When am I not?' He shot back, Yawning again as soon as the words left his tiny fuzzy, Sharp toothed mouth.

I gave a tired smile before nodding to Eige and jumping out the window.

Here we go. . . Lets see if we die tonight. . .
