Back to Corbin's Pov!
----------------------------------------------------
Things had been going well, Really well in fact.
Kate and I had split up, Each of us guiding half the rescued kids to the Mossy glade hospital when shit hit the fan.
Turns out some people had heard the gunshots during our fight and had recorded the entire altercation and sent it to some rather violent 'Heros'.
Long story short, When my dragons and I returned home, I had a new, Deep gash in my side and more than a few hundred bruises coating my body.
Here I was now, Sitting heavily on my couch, Inside my home that was now brightly lit, In blood coated clothes, With a hero applying pressure to a wound that his friends created, Struggling to stay awake, Using all my strength and concentration to do so.
'What a great day' Tene jeered sarcastically from inside my bag.
Ian winced guiltily at that comment, Making me feel bad for making him feel bad.
'Great job Tene. You made the flower cry.' Eige hissed out, Annoyed with the sarcastic dragon.
''Alright, Ian, You have two options here'' Daxon started, Drawing me away from blearily listening in on my dragons, My mind was feeling sluggish.
What is he talking about. . .And why is my home so bright now. . .
''You can stay here, Or you can come to the hospital with Corbin and I'' Daxon offered, Making me frown in confusion.
Okay. I just got here. I haven't even said a word to Mr bright man. . .Person. . .Damn my head feels light. . .
''He's lost a lot of blood and still is losing a lot of blood, So you have to make your choice now.'' I distantly heard Daxon mutter.
He was tying something very tightly over my wound, Startling me out of my daze and ripping a hiss of pain out of me.
I tried to double over, To protect my wounded side, But I was stopped by Daxon's hand on my shoulder, Holding me up.
''Shh, I know, It hurts, But I've got to bandage you up so I can get you to a hospital'' Daxon murmured, Sounding very apologetic as he continued to wrap something. . .A bandage, Around me, Ripping tears and whimpers of pain out of me.
Shakily, As my vision started to darken around the edges, I held onto Daxon's shoulders, My fingers digging into the warm muscles of the taller man's shoulders.
If the grunt from him was anything to go by, My grip was hurting him. . .But he didn't remove my hands from his shoulders.
Furrowing my brow, I tried to think through the hazy pain as I started to realize, My body wasn't really responding to me. . .And my vision was getting progressively darker with each passing second.
'Oh fuck you're bleeding out' I distantly heard Eige hiss out.
Why is that an issue? I feel warm and fuzzy. . .
I wasn't really sure, Or aware of what was going on as suddenly, I was no longer on my couch, Hell, I wasn't even in my apartment.
Looking up, I saw blindingly bright wings spread out above me.
Huh. . .Oh well, Guess I died. . .
With that in mind, And only that in mind, I closed my eyes, Forgetting why I had been trying to stay awake to begin with.
--- Time skip ---
My head was pounding, My body numb when I slowly was dragged from the warm senselessness I had been floating in by the steady beeping of some machine.
I opened my eyes only to close them quickly with a hiss of pain as the bright medical lights above scorched my retinas.
''Hold on now, I've got your shades over here, Give me a second'' A familiar, Raspy warm voice said from somewhere off to my left.
A moment later, Daxon had gently placed my shades back in place, Allowing me to open my eyes without blinding myself.
Taking in my surroundings, I could make out that I was in a hospital bed, A number of machines that I had no clue about rested off to my right, Beeping and buzzing and making quiet little sounds.
More than a few of them were connected to me.
Ian was fast asleep in one of the hospital chairs, His head lolling off to the side as his body was slumped in a way that would no doubt cause back pains when he would wake up.
''What happened?'' I rasped out, Coughing due to how dry my throat was.
I had just finished my little coughing fit when a glass of water was held up to my lips.
''Here, Drink'' Daxon murmured, Stopping me from trying to raise my hand to accept the glass.
My arm was surprisingly heavy and just moving it a little bit left my arm sore.
''You lost a lot of blood, You need to rest and regain your strength'' Daxon informed me gently as I slowly sipped at the offered water, Embarrassed that I was relying on someone, Let alone a hero, for help.
''To answer your earlier question, You passed out thanks to blood loss when I was flying you to the hospital. You were rushed into surgery, They managed to patch you up, And according to the doctor, None of your vital organs were hit'' Daxon informed me, Putting the glass back on the bedside table once I had drank my fill.
''Well that's always something good. . .How's Ian doing?'' I asked, Glancing at the passed out man as I spoke.
He hummed slightly, Glancing back at the blonde.
It was about now that I realized the someone had draped a coat over the flower boy to keep the sleeping man warm.
That was Daxon's work wasn't it. . .
''He'll be alright, He was tired and stressed but he was very relieved to find out you'll be okay'' Daxon informed me, Returning to his chair as a small relieved sigh left me.
''Good. . .Good'' I murmured, Relieved that my boyfriend was okay.
