Ace pov! :D

-------------------------------------------------------------

This has been by far one of my more entertaining days. . .

Not only was one of my destined in my care once again, The other two ones that I had no way of contacting just so happened to be rather concerned about Corbin, Meaning they were constantly visiting.

I had spent some time speaking with the pale eyed boy, Ian, Assuring him that his boyfriend will be alright.

Eventually though, I had to leave all three of them to get back to my job.

But finally, Now, I have reached a lull in the patients. . .

It had been a few hours since I had last checked on Corbin, So once I was on my lunch break, I made my way up to his room, An extra lunch tucked under my arm.

A fair few people seem to dislike the food the hospital provides, So I figured I'd try and make Corbin's day by bringing him some home cooked food.

Maybe this'll open the door to actually talking things out with him. . .

I for one failed to see why he was so worked up over my trying to help him, But I digress.

His feelings are his own and it's not up to me to control them. . .Yet.

Walking down the hall, I felt my heart stutter slightly as I overheard a conversation from inside Corbin's room.

''Who did this to you?'' Daxon murmured.

An innocent enough question. . .If, The person who wounded Corbin didn't happen to be a hero. . .A hero who can for certain, Explain to Daxon that the only person they hurt recently was a villain.

Oh no. . .That's not good. Not good at all.

I picked up my pace, Hurrying over before quickly pulling Corbin's door open right as the heavily drugged boy. . .Man, Opened his mouth to speak.

''Mr. Brige!'' I snapped out, My voice sterner than I fully intended as I cut off the sickly boy.

This hospital prides itself on being a safe place for those with powers, Be they villain or hero.

I'd be damned if I didn't make sure it was safe for all here, Especially my destined.

If Corbin were to answer that question, It would be highly likely that the already suspicious hero will piece together the puzzle of the other man's identity, One question to a hero friend will be all it will take to ruin the shadow boy's life.

''Please do not harass the patients.'' I continued, Storming in to stand between the bedridden Corbin and Daxon.

A disappointed frown firmly taking it's place on my face.

''I wasn't-'' Daxon started to say before I cut him off, Not about to give him any time to argue in his defense.

Placing my hands on his shoulders, I started to steer him towards the door.

''I'm going to have to ask you to leave.'' I continued, Herding him out of the door before closing it almost in his face, Shutting down any further conversation right then and there.

Well that was a bit of a close one. . .

Letting out a small sigh, I ran my hands through my hair, Fixing it as well as fixing my composure before turning around to face the black haired man.

He was watching me with a dazed expression on his face.

Curious. . .

Reaching out with my mind, I gently pressed against his, Feeling that his mental barricades were fully down thanks to his drugged state.

I very well could take over his mind, Puppeteer him like I was puppeteering Brion.

That wouldn't take much effort. . .

Sitting down at the edge of his bed, I opened the extra food I had brought for him.

''You know. . .It's awfully rude to stare'' I pointed out with a teasing tone to my voice, Glancing at the man from the corner of my eye.

He didn't seem amused, He seemed very confused instead.

''Why'd you send him away?'' Corbin asked, His words a bit slurred as he visibly struggled to think through what was happening.

Maybe. . .I shouldn't have given him that strong of a pain killer. . .

''He was about to find out about your little secret'' I pointed out, Placing a plastic spoon in the Tupperware next to the stuffed shells before handing the container to the confused man.

''But. . .Why would you send him away? You're mean to me. . .'' He muttered, Just staring blankly at the dish as he spoke.

He looked like he was struggling to remember how to use a spoon.

''When have I been mean to you?'' I asked, Cutting off a bit of the pasta and offering it to the black haired man, Feeding my poor, Destined partner.

I had a strong feeling he was going to bring up my attempt to remove his powers.

He really is quite upset about that. . .How odd

''You tried to take away my dragons.'' He muttered, Sounding so sad as he spoke.

I tilted my head slightly at the. . .Odd choice of wording.

''Just. . .Your dragons?'' I questioned, Curious why he all of a sudden only cared about his little sentient shadows.

He narrowed his eyes at me, Clearly confused.

Yeah. . .That one's on me, He didn't understand that question. . .

''You only cared about loosing your dragons? Not your powers in general?'' I questioned, Rephrasing my question.

Could I make the serum removed his powers without him loosing his pets? Might have to look into that. . .

He couldn't answer me at that moment due to the fact he was currently burning his mouth on the bit of pasta I just fed him.

A small whimper like sound left him as I hurriedly grabbed a glass of water for the poor man.

''Apologies, Drink'' I ordered, Gently pressing the cup to his lips as he hurriedly swallowed down the bite of food.

Once he was no longer burning his mouth, He relaxed a bit, Still clearly very out of it based upon the fact that he was calm in my presence.

Very late chapter. . .Writer's block strikes again. . .
