'Aight, This is late sooo. . . Find. . .A. . . Better. . . Book

'You know, We could always just turn around. Head home. And get some sleep!' Tene reasoned, Moving to float in front of the door before us.
Before I could say anything Eige interjected, 'Tene, We promised grandpa we'd check up on her' Eige reprimanded.
'I wanna make a new friend!' Cali said happily.
''And there's that'' I muttered, Grabbing the small dark purplish grey colored dragon and hiding him under the jacket I had thrown on.
'Come on Tene, Into the jacket' Eige commanded, Grabbing the floating dragon and dragging him towards the hoodie on my jacket.
'Hey! Release me right now you sad soft excuse for a dragon!' Tene hissed, Thrashing around in Eige's grasp.
''Tene, Come on, You need to hide, It might be bright in there'' I reminded, Accepting the thrashing dragon from Eige.
Tene just huffed in annoyance, Pouting as he crossed his little reptile arms.
I stuffed him into my jacket next to Cali, As Eige started to float down to me I heard Cali's muffled voice.
'Oh hai! Are we cuddling?' He asked before I winced slightly as Tene kicked me, Trying to get away from the other dragon.
'OH FUCKING HELL NAW! GET ME OUT OF HERE!' Tene roared, His clawed paws hooking over the neck hole of my jacket.
'Get back in there and shut up' Eige scolded, Prying the lighter dragon's claws off my jacket as he dived in with the other two.
'I-' Tene started to complain before I felt a sharp sting in my side as Tene proceeded to hiss in pain.
''Hey. No kicking each other'' I hissed quietly to them as Cali moved to poke his head out the top.
'Corbi? When can we meet the new friend?' He asked innocently, Using the nickname he had given me years ago.
''In a sec, If you guys behave this'll go much quicker'' I said lightly, Unable to really scold Cali for slowing this down.
The sweet little purplish grey dragon grinned up at me before ducking back into my jacket with a muffled 'Oki'.
I inhaled slowly before exhaling, My senses reaching out for the shadows around me.
I didn't feel any dread from the dark around me so that helped calm my nerves the slightest bit.
Than again. . . I didn't feel any dread from Mr. salt and pepper haired man. . .Might be a bit faulty. . .
Shaking my head slightly I could feel Eige attempting to sooth me through our bond of sorts.
'You've got this, If things go south we'll be there to stand beside you' He whispered into my mind.
I nodded slightly before reaching up to knock firmly on the plain apartment door.
I don't know who I was expecting to open the door, Maybe a young adult like me? Someone who would make sense to be just getting out on their own. . .
A kid, Maybe fourteen or fifteen opened the door the slightest bit.
She stared up at me, In the few seconds I had before she slammed the door shut I spotted a familiar abandoned fright in her eyes.
'Well, She clearly doesn't want company. . . Lets go home!' Tene said, Poking his head out of my jacket.
'For once. . . I agree with Tene, I think she might need some time alone' Eige explained reasonably.
Sighing I nodded, Starting to walk away as they ducked their heads back down.
Around that moment Tene kicked Eige, Causing me to stumble as I felt it in my gut.
''Alright. That's it. You two. Go home.'' I grumbled, Unzipping my jacket to make the two fighting dragons float to the ground.
'But-' Eige started only for me to interrupt.
''No. You two had your chance. Now go home so I can walk in peace'' I snapped quietly, In no mood to deal with them fighting each other and causing me pain.
The two dragons pouted but the both glided to the shadows on the walls, Melting into them like ice cream left out in the sun.
I sighed, My shoulders slumping slightly.
This is why I avoid people. Too much chaos. . .
'Little hooman hatchling looked scared. . .' Cali commented, His tiny body floating up to perch on my shoulder, His fluffy tail curling loosely around my neck like a monkey's would.
''Yeah she did. . .'' I muttered quietly to him, My eyes drifting back to the closed door.
Just like we were once. . .
I let out a heavy sigh, Turning on my heel and approaching the door.
'Go get the others?' Cali asked, Tilting his head to the side.
''No, We'll handle this together, On our own. . .'' I whispered, Reaching out to the nearby shadows mentally.
Cali crouched on my shoulder, Prepared to leap off my shoulder.
I felt the shadows inside of the door knob, With a lot of concentration I managed to move the shadows so they pushed down the right parts of the lock, Unlocking the door.
'I is ready!' Cali whispered into my mind, His tail swishing back and forth behind me much like a cat's tail would.
Well, Whats the worst that could happen?
Death. . . Yeah that's not so bad
With that I pushed the door open, I fully expected to see a startled kid.
The kid was curled up in the middle of the apartment in the fetal position, Sobbing her eyes out as inky black creatures loomed above her.
Fragments missing from their 'faces', Making them look like grinning monsters ready to eat the nearest child.
Reaching out to them I felt a sinking feeling of dread as I realized that they were not shadows.
I could hear quiet hissed voices as the monsters changed shape into vaguely humanoid looking creatures.
'Grr! Meanies!' Cali hissed, Leaping from my shoulder and out onto the nearest monster.
The little girl looked up in surprise, Tears streaming down her face from her puffed up red eyes as Cali clung onto one of the monster's face like a facehugger.
I reached out to the nearby shadows, Relaxing my shoulders as they engulfed me.
I saw the girl's mouth drop open as she watched on, Raising my hand, I sent the shadows out across the floor.
The shadows formed vines, Wrapping around the monsters and sealing them to the ground, Even as they changed shape, Trying to escape.
Soon there were lumps of shadowy prison cocoons strewn around the floor, Surrounding a shocked looking kid.
With a happy, Weird sounding purr, Cali leaped back onto my shoulder.
''So. . . Uh, Well, We're your neighbors. . . Uh, Welcome to the building?'' I said slowly as the girl switched from staring at the cocoons to staring at me in shock.
'New fren!' Cali chirped happily from my shoulder.
