:) You'll see. . .

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I could hear Ian moving about on the other side of the bathroom door.

He had texted me a while ago now, Asking if I was okay.

After a short call with each other and a few explanations, Ian had offered to pick Lily up from school and to come hang out with her until I was feeling better.

''You want some supper? I cooked up some ravioli'' Ian offered, The door muffling his voice slightly.

I let out a small sigh, A tiny smile on my face.

''Yeah. . .That'd be nice'' I muttered back through the door.

My dragons were doing much better, So much so that I deemed it safe to leave them, However I was not going to let them out of the dark just yet, Not until they were awake at least.

Grabbing an un-used towel that I had set out this morning, I made a little nest with it inside the bath tub.

Once I was sure it'd be comfortable for my still sleeping dragons, I gently placed them inside.

Glancing back, I made sure they were okay before I carefully opened the bathroom door, Being mindful of how much of the dim light made it into the bathroom.

Ian had to turn on the lights to actually see anything, Thankfully though, He kept the almost never used lights dim thankfully.

Making sure the door was firmly shut behind me, I made my way to my small nearly non- existent kitchen.

Ian was dishing up something for Lily when I finally made it into his line of sight.

''Corbin! hope you're hu- Wait. . .Have you been crying??'' Ian asked, His voice changing from cheerful to concerned in the blink of an eye.

I gave him a thin smile as I sat down, Realizing now why the room seemed so bright to me, I had forgotten my sun glasses in the bathroom.

Well fuck me. . .

''Mhmm, I'm alright now though'' I muttered, My voice slightly raspy from the constant quiet pleading with my response-less dragons.

Laying my head down on my crossed arms, I hid my face from the world, Exhaustion from the crying finally setting in now.

''You're. . .Okay with crying?'' I heard Lily ask, Confusion in her voice.

Turning my head slightly, I peered at Lily from over my arms.

''Why wouldn't he be? He went through a lot'' Ian pointed out as a bowl of Ravioli was set down in front of my face.

I watched as a confused look passed over Lily's face before she slowly nodded.

A tense silence started to descend on us before I remembered my phone call from earlier.

''Hey. . .Ian, Lily, Would you guys like to go meet my dad with me tomorrow?'' I asked quietly, Looking up from the pasta currently cooling off in it's tomato sauce.

My un-official roommate and my. . .Friend? both stared at me for a moment before Ian gave me a concerned and patient smile.

''Are. . .You sure your father would be okay with Lily's. . .'' Ian started to say before trailing off slightly.

I arched an eyebrow as Ian seemed to realize something.

''Oh right. . .You're still considered a villain. . .He's used to darker powers isn't he?'' Ian muttered, A slight blush forming on his face.

I grinned slightly at that, ''Did you seriously forget that I'm a villain for a second there?'' I asked, Tilting my head as I slowly sat back up again.

''I mean, You're nothing like what I and. . .Mostly everyone else is told villains are like. . .'' He said hurriedly, The blush on his face growing.

''It's alright, And yeah, I think he'll love to meet Lily. . .'' I mused quietly before taking a bite of the food Ian had cooked up for all of us.

This. . .Might actually go well. . .

--- Time skip ---

'Where's papa?' Cali asked quietly from inside my bag.

My dragons were nearly back to normal again, They were sore and a little stiff but other then that, They were back to normal.

'There's most likely traffic, Based upon how many nearly parked cars there are outside' Eige commented, Actually having a reasonable point.

'Maybe there's a fire, Oh! oh! If not can we light some fires? Please? That'll be the perfect start to a morning!' Tene whispered excitedly, His attention turning back to us.

''Tene, That's not right'' Ian quietly scolded for me, A concerned frown on his face as he spoke.

'Fucking buzz kill' Tene mumbled, Settling down as the sound of the bell above the ice cream shop's door rung out across the store.

Glancing back, It was a mother and her daughter, Not my father.

''You sure he knows where this place is?'' Ian asked quietly, Leaning closer to me so he could be heard over the low rumble of multiple people talking with each other.

''Yeah, He always meets with me here when he visits'' I whispered back, Taking a sip of the milk shake.

We all already had our ice creams, We were just waiting on my dad.

The bell on the door dinged again, Causing me to look up.

I felt my heart skip a beat as a familiar black haired man walked in.

His brown eyes were accented by the impressive shadows beneath his eyes, Speaking volumes on his lack of sleep.

Smiling, I raised my hand, Catching the black and grey haired man's attention.

The trench coat wearing man calmly made his way over to us, Ian and Lily being none the wiser.

'PAPA!' Cali chirped out excitedly from inside my bag, Squirming around and ruining the surprise.

Ian turned just as my dad reached our booth, A small tired smile on his face.

''Hey dad, I have two people I'd like to introduce you to'' I said as I stood up, Moving out of the booth to greet my dad.

He gently pulled me close in a side arm hug.

''Dad, This is Lily, She's someone like me, I'm watching over her for Grandpa'' I informed him, Gesturing to the girl who was currently trying to wipe the hot fudge off her face as she clumsily stumbled to her feet.

I moved slightly to the side as Lily held out her hand for a handshake.

I watched on as instead of shaking her hand, My dad gently patted her on the head like he would always do to me when I was little.

''It's nice to meet you sir'' She said politely before my dad waved off her politeness.

''No need to be so formal, You can call me dad, Lily'' Me dad said, His voice gruff and brash sounding, The kindness hidden behind his harsh sounding voice.

''And this, Is my. . .Friend. . .Who's a boy. . .Ian'' I said, Pausing when I remembered Ian and I didn't have a name for what we have between us.

I didn't want to put him on the spot so I decided to go with a more neutral choice.

However, Based upon the looks every one was giving me and the emotions I was getting from my dragons, That might not have been the best wording.

'Graceful wording. . .' Tene quietly snarked.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

And we've got a very brief introduction to his father, Next chapter we're gonna learn more about his relationship with Corbin.

Anyways! Like always, Have a good day/night and find a better book! - fallen
