Chapter 55: Destined?

Ian pov!!

I woke up to the feeling of someone holding me close.

Sighing peacefully, I snuggled closer to Corbin's chest and the comforting warmth he provided.

He let out a mumbled sigh, Curling closer to me in his sleep, One of his arms resting on my hips, His head resting on top of mine as he played the part of the big spoon.

My eyes drifted closed as I tried to go back to sleep, Unsure what had woke me at first until I realized, I had to go pee.

Slowly, I squirmed out from under his arm, Pausing as I perched on the edge of the bed, Making sure I hadn't woken up the sweet pale man I was sleeping with.

If I sat there a little bit longer, Staring at his face, No one needed to know.

He looked really sweet when he didn't have his sunglasses on, Hiding the top half of his face.

His features were soft when he was sleeping, He didn't look as on edge or as stressed out when he was sleeping.

If only he could look this peaceful and happy when he's awake. . .

I would have stayed there, Watching what I could see of him in the nearly pitch black room if I could, However, I still had to use the bathroom.

Slipping carefully out of the bed, I nearly ran face first into the bedroom door frame.

''Oh snickerdoodle'' I swore under my breath, Trying to keep as quiet as I could.

'Ian?' Caliginous asked quietly, Said dragon poking his tiny head up from the blankets, His eyes the only things I could see clearly as his dark grey-ish purple body blended in with the dark shadows of the room.

''Shhh, Yes Caliginous?'' I whispered quietly as the little glowing eyes approached me, The smallest dragon hopping up onto my shoulder as I made my way out of their bedroom into the equally dark apartment.

'Why're you leaving? Are you upset?' The little blue grey dragon asked, His tiny little claws digging ever so slightly into my bare skin as he clung onto my shoulder.

''No no, I just have to use the little man's room'' I explained, Trying to sooth the concerned sounding dragon.

Said dragon looked confused for a moment before I nodded over to the door I was pretty sure led to the bathroom.

He hopped from my shoulder and covered his eyes, To give me privacy if I were to guess.

Smiling slightly at the overly polite dragon, I stepped inside the bathroom, Closing the door behind me before feeling around for a light switch.

I didn't want to risk accidently burning the sweet little dragon waiting outside the door, So I made sure the door was very firmly closed before flipping the switch.

Once I was done and had washed my hands, I made sure to turn off the lights before fumbling around until I found the door handle and was able to step out into the seemingly now pitch black apartment.

My eyes had adapted to the light in the bathroom, Meaning I was pretty much unable to see anything once the light was out again.

Stepping out, I hoped beyond hope that I wouldn't step on any of the dragons.

Thankfully, I felt the dragon I was worried about stepping on hop up onto my shoulder instead.

'Why'd you turn the light off before leaving? You wouldn't have been able to see' Caliginous questioned.

He was watching me from the dark with his head tilted to the side slightly in confusion.

''I didn't want to hurt you, Don't want to hurt Corbin either'' I whispered as I quietly made my way back to the bedroom.

'Oh. . .But. . .You can't directly hurt him though' Caliginous said innocently, Making my eyebrows furrow in confusion.

''What do you mean? I'm pretty sure I'd be able to hurt him. . .I don't want to but I think I could. . .It'd be somewhat easy with my powers'' I murmured tiredly, Forgetting for a moment that my powers barely listen to me ever.

Caliginous shook his head rapidly, His cold fluffy body flopping down against my shoulder as he let out a little sigh.

'You can't though, You're destined to us. . .You can't hurt Corbi, Just like we can't hurt you' Caliginous explained as I snuck back into the bedroom.

 'Cali? What are you going on about?' The tired voice of Eigengrau asked, The dark blue-ish black dragon poking his head up from the blankets, His silvery eyes trained on us as he slowly started to blink awake.

'Tell Ian he and Corbi are destined for each other!' Caliginous squeaked out, Sounding a lot like a little kid asking his mother to prove him right to a sibling.

The seemingly older dragon let out a sigh at that, Getting up from the blankets.

'Now Cali, We don't know for sure that he's dest-' Eigengrau started before Caliginous interrupted him, Shaking his head as tears formed in his eyes.

'No! We have to be! We. . .We're destined!' Caliginous blurted out, Sounding really upset that I might not be destined to them.

A small part of me squirmed slightly at the thought that Caliginous's fears might be correct.

''Mm? What's going on?'' Corbin slurred out, Slowly sitting up in bed as he rubbed at his eyes, Looking more than a bit confused as he was still waking up.

'Corbi! Attack Ian!' Caliginous pleaded, Making Corbin wake up very quickly.

''What the hell? Cali no!'' Corbin chided as the purple dragon jumped over to him, Tears in the little dragon's eyes as Corbin just looked confused.

His gaze landed on Eigengrau and I as the small purple colored dragon buried his face in Corbin's bare chest.

'He's upset because I mentioned that we don't know for sure that we're destined with Ian' Eigengrau informed quietly as Corbin gently rubbed at the crying purple dragon's back.

Poor little guy. . .

I felt so bad for him, So, I reached out, Gently running my hand down the tiny dragon's back.

Much to my surprise, Corbin shuddered slightly, Despite me not touching him.
