And some of the boys get to actually have a bit of a talk. . .
-------------------------------------------------------------
''Have a good day'' I muttered robotically as I handed a coffee to yet another annoyed person.
''Took you long enough'' The woman grumbled, Grabbing her drink from me roughly before storming off.
'Well aren't you just a ray of fucking sunshine.' Tene grumbled bitterly from his hiding spot.
I sighed tiredly, Briefly closing my eyes to rub at the bridge of my nose, I could feel a faint head ache coming on.
The familiar ring of the bell above the door sounded quietly in the coffee shop.
I raised my head, Fully expecting to see another annoyed customer who is having a bad day and is ready to make that my problem.
Instead, I was greeted with a tired yet warm smile and sparkling icy blue eyes.
I blinked in surprise as he quietly ordered a coffee, Going over to Jake instead of me.
Once he got his coffee he went over to one of the few seats on my side of the counter, Smiling at me as he did so.
''You look tired'' He commented, Sympathy tinting his words.
''I feel tired, And you?'' I answered back, Still facing forwards despite my attention being fully on the boy next to me.
He sighed, But still kept up his smile.
''Same, How's your day going?'' Ian asked before taking a sip of his coffee.
''Shitty, And yours?'' I asked, Smiling slightly as I spoke.
He chuckled slightly at that before he sighed and took another sip of his coffee.
''Another hero stopped by my work today'' He started before the bell dinged again.
Sighing, I turned back to greet yet another customer as Ian took another sip of his coffee.
''Hello Corbin'' Daxon greeted happily, Taking off his sun glasses as he approached the counter.
I faintly registered Ian choking slightly on his coffee, However, I was unable to react seeing as I had to act professional.
''Same as always?'' I guessed, Staring past him tiredly.
I could see Daxon smile out of the corner of my eye before he nodded slightly.
Turning back, I went to pour a cup of coffee for the man.
'Hey Corbin, Ian looks kinda nervous. . .' Eige pointed out quietly from where he was hiding.
I glanced down at the dragon before turning back, Using the fact that I was bringing Daxon his coffee as an excuse to look over at Ian.
He had already put the required amount of coins on the counter to pay for his drink.
I handed him his drink, Holding back a shudder as his fingers brushed over mine when he accepted his drink.
''Thank you'' He muttered, Trying to make eye contact with me despite my heavily tinted sunglasses blocking most chances to.
I hummed quietly, Putting the change in the cash register before turning my attention back to Ian.
''Do you want to come over tonight? I think Lily and Cali have been missing you'' I muttered to Ian.
I held back a smile as I could feel Cali nodding in agreement from inside my apron pocket.
Ian sighed, Smiling tiredly.
''Sure, That sounds nice, I can bring over a movie for us all to watch'' Ian said, Slowly seeming to relax.
I smiled ever so slightly at him before Daxon spoke, Ruining the moment.
''You two. . .Know each other?'' Daxon asked, Surprise in his voice.
''U-Um. . .Yeah, We d-do'' Ian squeaked out, His voice wavering slightly in. . .Fear?
I frowned slightly, Looking over at Daxon briefly before turning back to Ian.
''He's. . .A friend of yours?'' I asked slowly, It didn't seem like he was a friend but you never know.
Ian glanced over at the brown eyed man, Paling slightly as he did so.
''He's a h-'' Ian started to say, His voice quiet and tinged with fear.
Before he could finish what he was saying, Daxon quietly cleared his throat, Giving Ian a look.
I watched as Ian swallowed nervously before rubbing at the back of his head.
''He's uh, He's spoken with me before, He's not a friend'' Ian squeaked out quietly, Reaching out to interlace his fingers with mine on top of the counter, Seeking comfort.
I gave his hand a small squeeze before turning to the next customer as Daxon sat down on the other side of Ian.
'Is it just me or did it sound like he was about to say hero?' Tene asked quietly from his hiding spot.
'He was most likely going to say he's part of HR, It'd be incredibly unlikely that he'd be a hero' Eige grumbled, Cranky and tired.
I held back a sigh, Going to get the person's annoyingly complex order around.
I could hear Daxon quietly speaking to Ian.
I didn't hear Ian responding so I assumed this little chat wasn't going so well.
'Is Mr bright man being mean to Ian?' Cali asked quietly from inside the pocket.
'Mr Bright man? How in the world did you come up with that nickname?' Tene asked as Eige grumbled quietly under the fridge.
I tuned out my dragons as I carried the coffee back over to the annoyed looking woman at the counter.
She was on her phone and not really paying attention to. . .Anything.
At least she's already paid for her coffee
I handed her the coffee, She glanced over at me briefly, Took a sip of the coffee before giving a slight nod and leaving.
'Wanna bet she would have made it a big fucking deal if it tasted even slightly off?' Tene asked before Eige straight up growled.
'Will you shut the fuck up? I already have a headache, I don't wanna deal with your blabber right now too' Eige growled out, He never was good with missing lots of sleep.
Well. . .I get cranky too if I miss a lot of sleep then have to deal with other people's shit. . .
'Corbi?' Cali asked quietly, Catching my attention.
'Corbi, Why is everyone staring in this direction?' Cali continued, Innocently drawing my attention back to the people in the coffee shop.
Oh shit. . .They must have heard Eige's growl. . .
