Chapter 702

Gabby's POV: After spending the past hour resting in our bed (I couldn't get back to sleep after Matt left), I decided to come out because I smelt food. Coming out, I saw Matt setting the Chinese delivery on the kitchen counter before taking off his mask. "Seems like I came out right on time" Matt chuckled as he went to unpack everything. "Yes you did." I then went to carry Matteo over to his swing before letting him relax.

Matt then looked up at me as he saw me setting Matteo down. "You like using that when we're out here don't you?" I turned to look at him as I stood up and nodded. "It's perfect. It's right where we can see him and it's not too far from us. Honestly, I keep realizing that this place we have is more and more perfect for us every single day." Matt smiled when I said that and put his hand out for me to walk over.

Grabbing his hand when I made my way to the kitchen, I moved to stand in front of him before putting my hands on his chest. I then moved to kiss him and smiled. "I want to relax in the living room tonight after we eat okay?" Matt nodded and agreed. "We have recordings to catch up on." I smiled when he said that before grabbing his neck. I then felt his lips on my forehead before listening to him whisper to me.

"And tomorrow, I want to stay out here a bit more. We need to rotate. One day in our bedroom, the other in the living room." I nodded and agreed with that. "Change it up and stay calm." Matt nodded and chuckled. "We really do need to calm down. We've been married long enough now that we can really just you know...start acting more like adults and parents again?" I nodded and smiled. "Like that will ever happen. Be honest with yourself Matt, you're one of the biggest kids I know. And that's saying something because I also know Severide."

He nodded and smiled. "What can I say, I like playing with the big toys at work. The firetrucks, ambulances, the power tools. Oh, and my sexy paramedic partner." I laughed when he said that before putting my hands on his chest, pushing him away to calm things down. "Okay mister, I get you like kissing me but we said relax. Now, I am going to sit on the couch and wait for you to bring the food over. We'll eat and only after we eat will I sit in your lap."

Matt pouted when I said that. "Awh, but I like holding you in my lap when we're on the couch." I nodded and agreed. "And I like sitting in your lap, with your arms around me when we're on the couch. But...we need to eat and I don't want to make a mess that we would have to clean up. Now, stop complaining and just get the food ready on some plates. Or else, I won't join you in the shower tomorrow morning." I smirked when I said that before turning around.

I then made my way over to the couch, smirking the entire time when I heard Matt. "You are such a tease! God, you really like teasing me don't you?" I nodded and smirked when I got to the couch, grabbing a blanket for us before sitting down. Matt then grabbed us some plates of Chinese and put our respective orders on each of the two plates. He then grabbed some utensils and carried the plates over to me so that we could eat supper.
