the next day, marina woke up to laura and hayden having a pillow fight, amelia lying on the floor, singing the abc's, and charity burbage, another roommate, telling them to shut up.

"what the heck?" marina mumbled sitting up slowly and looking at them all. "you woke sleeping beauty up, at least." charity said sarcastically, grabbing her shoes and walking out of the dormitory.

out of all the girls in the room, marina definitely slept the most. most of the girls went to bed at the same time, but marina was always the last one awake. on school days the girls take turns on ways to get marina up.

laura splashes water on her, hayden hits her in the head with a pillow, amelia pokes her face, and charity just shakes her and says her name a couple of times. that's her personal favorite.

"want to join our fun?" amelia asked, taking a break from singing. marina hopped out of bed. "once i can open my eyes correctly, sure." she sighed, stretching her aching body.

"don't forget about the gryffindor versus slytherin quidditch game today." laura said as marina took her hair out of the messy bun she had put in last night. "stella has been reminding me everyday so i didn't forget." she sighed. laura laughed.

"she's team captain, right?" hayden asked. "no, some seventh year is." marina muttered. "potter's been captain since his third year, so we know who the gryffindor captain is." amelia sighed, standing up.

"and he won't stop reminding me about it." laura said darkly. "we all know you are a better captain than that toe rag is." hayden said comfortingly, before hitting amelia in the back with the pillow, making her fall right back to the ground.

while marina rushed over to help amelia back up, hayden and laura put their pillows away. "we should probably get dressed." laura said, rushing over to her trunk, the three others doing the same.

they quickly got dressed, marina slipping on a simple floral dress with long sleeves. it was fall, but she still had to wear her signature dresses.

they all made their way down to the great hall for breakfast. right before they entered the great hall, marina realized her shoe was untied and bent down to tie it, telling the others to go ahead.

she wish she had stayed with them.

the moment she stepped foot into the great hall, water was dumped on her head, drenching her completely. the whole hall began laughing, and she did too, but she was furious.

she wiped her eyes and looked over, and, to no surprise, she saw the maruaders laughing hysterically at her. potter and black were laughing so hard they were on the floor, clutching their stomachs.

"oh my goodness!"

professor mcgonagall and professor sprout had come rushing over to help her, sprout drying her quickly with a spell, while mcgonagall reprimanded the four boys. they stopped laughing once they earned detention for a month.

"could you be anymore unoriginal?" marina asked after she thanked sprout and began walking to the hufflepuff table. james, sirius, and peter were staring at mcgonagall while she yelled about how irresponsible they were, but remus was glaring hard at marina.

marina just winked.

later that afternoon, marina, hayden, and laura were sitting outside in the courtyard. marina was reading the book she had checked out of the library the day pervious, hayden was doing a potions essay she had saved until the day before it was to be turned in, and laura was writing down new strategies for quidditch.

marina had reached the moon chapter, and, of course, the second page in the chapter was about werewolves. but marina saw something interesting. there was a blank page next to the other, and, in very neat cursive, said,

are werewolves really monsters?

marina glared at the page. of course werewolves weren't monsters! the people were just people! sure, werewolves are scary on full moons, but she wasnt going to fear a person for something they couldn't help.

she looked back at hayden and laura to make sure they weren't looking, slipped her bag off her shoulder, and pulled out her ink and quill. she carefully unscrewed the lid to the ink and gently dipped her quill in it, quickly writing underneath the other persons writing,

no. fear the werewolf, not the person.

after stealing another glance at hayden and laura to make sure they weren't looking, she quickly put her stuff back in her bag and blew on the page, so it would dry quickly and nobody would see that she had written in a library book.

"hey, should we head to the quidditch game now?" hayden asked, making marina jump. she quickly shut her book, hoping her ink had dried. "i suppose. lets see how good these prats really are." laura said, standing up. marina nodded in agreement and stood up as well, throwing her bag over her shoulder.

the three girls made their way over to the quidditch field and quickly found a seat with amelia. "there you guys are, i was starting to think you forgot!" she said as marina sat down next to her. "we couldn't have." laura said as she sat down next to marina.

"so, who are we cheering for?" ludo bagman, a seventh year, asked from behind them. "i'm cheering for gryffindor." laura said, and hayden nodded. "i'm cheering for slytherin." marina said. "me too." amelia said, making marina turn around and smile at her.

the players came out, and everyone began cheering for the team they were supporting. of course, gryffindor was cheering for gryffindor and slytherin was cheering for slytherin, but it was more of a mix with ravenclaw and hufflepuff.

sure, most people were cheering for gryffindor, though marina didn't exactly know why, but there were some scattered voices cheering for slytherins.

amelia clearly noticed this, for she turned to marina and said, "the underdogs cheer for the underdogs."

marina had no idea what she meant.
