marina phoenix liked to put people into different categories. once she got to know someone, she would compare and contrast them to herself, then she put them into a category. she had many different categories for the people she attended school with, and even if she did not like them, if she knew them well enough, she would put them into a category. for example; the months of the year.

her best friend, stella virgo, was january. she loved stargazing and photo albums, she had a lot of overwhelming deep thoughts, and an infinity amount of scarves and leather jackets. whenever she's home she makes mixtapes with her muggle parents and loves watching movies. her and marina spend hours upon hours in the library just reading, every now and then sharing a note about the book to one another.

her friend, felix mclaggen, was february. he was always wearing oversized hoodies and his hair was always a mess. he loved curling up on the couch under a blanket and staring at the fire, sometimes drawing doodles in his notebook. he was always able to make marina laugh, even if she was having an awful day. he would burst out singing just to make his friends smile.

one of her roommates, charity burbage, was march. she always drank strong coffee with a small bar of dark chocolate, she loved reading biographies, and she had a perfect balance of the right and left brain. she was always moody, always wanted to have intelligent conversations, which is something you can never have in the third year hufflepuff dormitory, she was rude most times but it was sometimes endearing, and was secretly kind of insane. her and marina got along just fine most days when she wasn't trying to beat her grades.

april was amelia bones, another roommate. she loved rainy days and staying in bed with a pile of books surrounding her. she got up earlier than all of them and did a very extensive morning routine with a cup of tea in her hand at all times. her short hair was always thrown up in a messy ponytail or bun with her wand to hold it up when she wasn't using it. she didn't have many friends, only the girls in the dormitory, but she loved them with her whole heart, and she was okay with not knowing many people. she always came to marina when she was upset, as marina knew how to listen and help her at all times.

hayden eliz, another roommate, was may. she loved making flower crowns and daisy chains. she had a lot of succulents that she all named, loved playing the ukulele, was fascinated by bees, and she loved tea. she would always end her day with either doing homework or studying some plant she had found interesting, always with a cup of rosemary tea next to her. she was a vegan, and the house elves were surprisingly okay with it, always making sure she had something to eat during meals. her and marina talked about what plants and animals benefited the earth, as they were both into that kind of thing.

marina herself was june. she had beach waves in her hair and her entire body was covered in freckles. she was addicted to sunshine and was very outdoorsy and adventurous, always trying to talk her friends into going into the forbidden forest with her, which never worked. she always had a smile on her face and smelled like baked goods, as she was constantly in the kitchens, baking with the house elves. whenever she talked to someone new, she never treated them as a stranger. she treated them as a friend, and they normally became one after the conversation.

the month of july was peter pettigrew. peter was one of marina's friends boyfriend, and though marina didn't interact with him a lot, she had studied him well enough. he loved bonfires and sparklers, he always wore cutoff jeans and danced late into the night in the gryffindor common room. he had a wild laughter and a free-spirit. he loved picnics and iced lemonade, spending his lunch times on sundays out on the grass near hagrid's hut. he was forever young, his face always looking like a child's on christmas morning.

sirius black was august. he always wore torn denim and lace-up sneakers. he had a very old journal filled with writing that he carried everywhere, he dyed his hair purple for an entire month just because he felt like it, his ears and nose are pieced and he always had some sort of black piercing in them. he had had a crush on one of marina's room mates for a very long time, and they had started going on dates last year.

her boyfriend, remus lupin, was september. he had an abundance of notebooks with so many scribbles and random notes in them. they probably had some chocolate stains on them, as he loved chocolate bars. he loved colorful pens and was always wearing a worn out cardigan. he loves the smell of books and constantly feels out of place. they had hated each other for a long time, and after a long, drama-filled year, they finally got together before the summer of the seventh year.

one of her roommates, laura ryann, was october. she loved anything pumpkin flavored and preferred fancy coffee, instead of the coffee they served in the dining hall. somehow she was always able to get fancy coffee, though marina never knew how. she was very sassy and preferred to be treated like royalty. though she was very scary, she is also very gullible and funny. fifty percent of her time is spent being sarcastically rude, and the other fifty percent of her time is spent being funny. her and marina bonded over their love of halloween. they spent an entire week in their second year making hand-made halloween costumes for the halloween dance they were having. laura was something from brides of dracula, a muggle horror movie, and marina was a princess.

james potter, remus' friend, was november. he loved knitted jumpers and leg warmers and drank hot chocolate with his breakfast every morning, no matter was season it was. he was like a candid smile, always goofing around and just living. he wore a lot of plaid button ups and loved listening to music from the record player in the gryffindor common room. he pranked people too, but unless you had seriously wronged him, he would normally apologize. sometimes he didnt apologize with words, but he always did something to make it up. whenever he drank coffee, which was only when he had to stay up late for something, he would always have extra cream and sugar in it.

her parents were december. they always had freshly baked cookies for her on weekends, they had decorated their house with bright colors and blankets with vibrant patterns, and there were family portraits all over the house. they love everyone that steps foot in their house and they give the warmest hugs. marina has never trusted anyone more than them.
