the moment the train came to a complete stop, marina grabbed her trunk and raced outside, desperate to see her parents again, though she had seen them about two months ago. she was also desperate to get away from remus.

"mum! dad!" she said as she made eye contact with them. they came rushing forward and engulfed her into a hug.

the family of three immediately began discussing their plans for winter break, only to be interrupted by remus awkwardly shuffling over.

"oh! who's this?" elle asked her daughter as she noticed him. marina snapped her head to him and internally groaned. remus flushed red and looking away.

"mum, dad, this is remus lupin." she said, looking down at her feet. her parents faces fell slightly but they just nodded a hello to him. they didn't really know much about him other than that marina wasn't exactly happy with him.

"marina, could we talk? really quickly?" he asked, shoving his hands in his pocket and looking back to her.

marina knew she should say no. he had messed up too many times and was only making her life more complicated. but, you could never really say no to remus lupin.

"you get five minutes." she snapped. her parents nodded in agreement before picking up her trunk and disappearing into the crowd.

"what?" she asked once they were out of sight. "now, i know you're mad..." remus began. marina scoffed.

"mad? i'm not mad at all! i'm actually here to congratulate you!" she said, crossing her arms in front of her chest and glaring at him. "you sure know how to make me feel like shit! congratulations!"

remus took a step closer to her and marina forced herself to look up at him. jesus, why did he have to be so damn tall?

"look, i know i messed up. well, i don't really remember it happening, but i know it was messed up." remus explained. marina looked at him incredulously.

"were you drunk or something? you know, drunk words are just silent thoughts." marina muttered. remus shook his head. "i don't even drink, that's james and sirius' job." he mumbled. she resisted the urge to laugh.

"alyssa abbott. that's who i told you?" he asked. marina pursed her lips and slowly nodded. "i don't even know who that is." he said. marina felt her stomach drop.

"what? what happened?" she asked. "love potion, i guess. girls just can't keep themselves off of me." remus sighed, cracking a smile. marina looked down at her shoes.

"marina, look at me." he said softly. she didn't look up, so remus gently grabbed her chin and tilted her head up so she would meet her eyes.

"it's okay to be mad at me, you know? i have fucked up so many times." he whispered. she looked at him in the eyes for a couple of seconds before stepping away. he let go of her chin.

"thank you for...telling me. but, i really have to go see my parents...bye." she said. she was about to walk away when she saw the sad look on her face.

without thinking properly, she walked closer, stood on her toes and kissed his cheek, before quickly rushing away, leaving remus both confused and very, very, very, happy.
