"say that again and i will kick you."

marina shot her head up from her book to find, for the third time in an hour, sirius and laura arguing. this time, sirius had told laura her hair looked unbrushed. marina couldn't blame her for her response to that.

"you wouldn't." sirius mocked, sticking his tongue out at her. "you said that last week and she yanked your hair so hard you fell to the floor." remus reminded him, making marina laugh. remus looked at her, and they both gave each other a weak smile, before looking back towards laura and sirius.

laura was about to say something, put peter cut in. "why don't we just study, we have our o.w.l exams tomorrow." he snapped, and everyone quickly looked back down towards their books.

marina couldn't believe how fast the year had gone by. in the beginning of the year, she had about five close friends, hated the marauders, and especially hated remus. now, she had many new friends, is acquaintances with the marauders, and had become sort of friends with remus.

she felt like it was just yesterday when marina and remus were swearing about how much they hated each other across the great hall on the first night back. now he was sitting across from her in the library.

the only thing she was slightly upset about was the mystery boy in the book. there would be no way for them to contact one another over the summer, and she was curious to know who he was and if he would even remember about the book next term.

or, what if he doesn't go to hogwarts next year? she would never hear from him again and never know who he was. marina shuddered at the thought of that, but forced herself to go back to reading her dada book.

later that night, marina was sitting at the hufflepuff table, eating shepards pie as hayden and laura talked about the exams, which was the only thing on everyones mind. except marina, she had two things on her mind.

though she was acting like she didn't notice, marina knew that the marauders were staring at her from across the great hall, and she didn't like it.

"hayden, tell your boyfriend to stop staring at me!" she hissed to hayden, who stopped talking to laura and glanced over to the marauders table, where they all quickly turned away. hayden scoffed.

"they're probably planning a prank on us." laura sighed, going back to her dinner. "not before the test!" marina gasped. hayden shook her head quickly. "i don't think they'd be that dumb." she said.

marina couldn't shake the bad feeling off.
