the next morning, marina was woken up my hayden hitting her in the head with a pillow, very hard and very fast.

"jesus, hayden, i'm awake!" marina said loudly, rolling over to try and avoid hayden's hits, but ended up just falling off the bed and hitting the ground hard. "damn it," she muttered, pain sweeping through her side where she landed.

"oh god, are you okay?" hayden asked, as her and laura rushed over to help her up. "i'm fine," she said as they helped her stand up. "sorry about that." hayden said sheepishly, giving marina a lopsided grin. "it's whatever, it helped me wake up." she said, smiling slightly.

laura and hayden were already dressed, hayden wearing a dark green oversized hoodie with a large sunflower on it, and dark blue jeans with a brown belt, and laura wearing a black long sleeve shirt with a plaid skirt and black stockings.

"we need to leave in half an hour if we want breakfast." hayden said as the turned on her heel and walked to her trunk, pulling out a scarf she had made.

marina nodded and went to her own trunk, and pulled out an oversized brown sweater and a plaid jumper dress, slipping both of them on. she loved dresses, even thought it was winter. she also slipped on some white stockings, just incase it was extra cold.

half an hour later, the four girls were on their was to the great hall. charity had already left before marina was even awake, and though they weren't exactly friends, marina was getting a little worried about her.

but she decided not to dwell on it, for the moment they all entered the great hall, marina knew that she was going to have way bigger problems than charity.

the four marauders immediately looked their way, and all waved at them with smiles. peter's smile was the only one that seemed sincere, while the three others just looked mischievous. "i'm giving you full permission to punch them if they try anything." marina whispered to laura as they made their way over to the hufflepuff table. laura nodded, an evil grin growing on her features.

they sat down and marina grabbed a piece of toast, taking a bite of it. the fifth year, ludo bagman, kept on scooting closer to marina, annoying her to the point she kicked him in the shins.

"ow!" he said, rubbing his calf. "what the hell was that for?" he asked. marina rolled her eyes. "personal space bubble, bagman." she said in disgust. "oi, you heard her, stay away." laura said, glaring at him. ludo scoffed and scooted away from her.

"i hate that creep." amelia mumbled, glaring at him as well. "he's so short, i can just kick the bitch over." laura spat, loud enough for ludo to hear. he shot up, leaving his breakfast and walked out of the great hall.

"great, laura, you just scared someone out of the great hall before ten in the morning." hayden said, rolling her eyes. "the bitch deserved it!" laura said. "i never said it was a bad thing," hayden said, winking at marina.

after breakfast, the four girls met up with the marauders outside of the great hall.

hayden and peter hugged, but everyone else just stood there awkwardly, looking at everything but one another.

"so, should we go to the carriages?" peter asked, breaking the silence. everyone nodded and the eight of them made their way to the carriages.

"how far do you think i can shove this boot up potter's ass?" laura whispered to marina, pointing at her shoe. marina held back a laugh and looked down, practically shaking. "i was just curious." laura said, shrugging. marina snorted, and everyone looked back at her, so she quickly looked up at the ceiling of the castle as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

they reached the carriages, and all hopped in one. marina was surprised they all fit, but there they were. thankfully, the girls were sitting on one side and the boys were sitting on the other.

"so, where are we going first?" james asked. "i was thinking we could go to zonko's." laura said, shrugging. sirius smirked. "anything for you, doll." he said, winking. "you're acting like i won't shove this boot up your ass." laura threatened.

they arrived at hogsmeade, and all got out. peter offered his hand to hayden which she took and hopped off the carriage. that's when something odd happened.

remus offered his hand to marina. she looked at his suspiciously, before taking it and hopping off the carriage. "thanks," she said awkwardly, wondering why he did that. she fought the urge to wipe her hand on her dress, just as she did the night they played chess.

"okay, zonko's is this way." james said, leading everyone in the direction. marina looked around at everyone. hayden and peter were holding hands, hayden looking in shop windows and peter looking at her, laura threatening to punch sirius in the face, and james asking amelia a bunch of questions about muggles. remus was near sirius and laura, and amused look on his face.

they arrived at zonko's, but marina decided to stay outside. she never liked the smell of that place, and it was always loud. everyone went in and she leaned against the window, watching as everyone walked by.

the door swung open, and marina figured the group wouldn't be done yet, so she didn't look over. but to her surprise, remus came and stood next to her.

"i want a rematch." he said. marina looked at him oddly. "excuse me?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. "of chess. i want a rematch of chess." he explained. "why would i want to play with you again?" marina asked, crossing her arms in front of her chest.

"because i know you enjoyed it." remus said, crossing his arms in front of his chest as well. "i love chess, but i didn't enjoy playing it with you." marina said stiffly, holding her head up high. "so is that a no on the rematch?" remus asked. marina stared at him for a couple of seconds before sighing.

"hufflepuff common room, tomorrow night, seven o'clock. don't be late."
