it was finally the hogsmeade weekend and marina awake early. not too early, but early enough to surprise hayden, who was always the first one awake.

"you're up early," she said in surprise. hayden was still in her nightgown and braids, which marina rarely saw in the mornings.

marina was about to respond, but hayden got to her before it. "i'm assuming your nervous about your date?" she inquired, closing the book that was on her lap. marina sighed and nodded.

"well, as a taken women, i will offer you my advice." hayden replied, standing up from the bed. the floor creaked as she made her way over to marina and laura shifted in her sleep.

"just be yourself. remus likes you for you. don't try to be anyone else." she said, taking marina's hands. "also wear a cute outfit." she added with a wink.

since the kiss, marina and remus had gotten closer. remus walked her to all her classes, even if he ended up being late to his others, they studied in the library after school, and they ate dinner together.

marina loved every moment she spent with him.

for the next half hour, marina and hayden sat in their beds and read their books, hayden was reading war and peace and marina reading night of the singing birds.

the sun was steadily beginning to rise, the rays spilling into the room like a golden liquid. the tiny dust particles could be seen throughout the room, reminding marina to dust her desk when they got back.

"good morning, laura." she said, noticing laura sit up and rub her eyes. she glanced over at marina in surprise. "you're never awake before the sun." she said suspiciously.

"she's nervous for her date." hayden said. "hayden!" marina hissed, tossing a pillow at her, which hit her square in the face. "ow!"

"that must suck," laura said sarcastically, standing up and stretching her arms. "you're nervous for your 'hang out' with sirius." hayden snapped using air quotes.

"it's not a date!" laura said defensively. "right, two people who like one another and snog every day hanging out at the three broomsticks." amelia, who had just woken up, snapped.

"we don't snog every day..."

"passing over laura's love life, who does marina have a date with?" charity asked. the four girls glanced over in surprise, as they did not know charity had woken up.

"i think you know," laura hissed, crossing her arms across her chest. charity's face fell as she realized, but she just walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.

"well, as long as she doesn't give me a black eye before my date, i'll be fine." marina muttered, standing up. "if she does, i'll break every single bone in her body." laura said cheerfully.

at nine o'clock, marina, laura, hayden, and amelia were making their way to the great hall, talking about their plans for the day.

marina had chose to wear a white dress with long sleeves and white thigh high socks with mary janes. simple, but cute.

"me and amelia will be hanging out, peter has some tutoring session with this girl in ravenclaw." hayden sighed. "he'll be at hogsmeade, just not with us."

"he's spending his hogsmeade trip...with a girl?" laura asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously. hayden rolled her eyes. "he's getting tutored by a girl." she corrected. "i have complete trust in him. he can have his own life."

"so wise," amelia sighed. hayden pushed her shoulder a little bit. "where are you and remus even going?" laura asked marina.

"i think we're just going to walk around, you know? go into little shops. we may go to the three broomsticks, but i don't know." marina responded, shrugging.

they entered the great hall and marina bid the other goodbye, telling them she was going to sit with stella.

"hey, marina!" regulus called as she got closer. stella looked up and smiled at her while severus moved over to make room for marina.

"are you ready for your date?" stella asked, looking at marina's outfit. "ready as i'll ever be." marina sighed, shrugging.

"i'm so excited for you!" regulus said happy. "calm down, reggie." stella said, patting him on the head. "awe, cute nickname." marina gushed, causing stella to kick her in the shins.

"i would be more excited for you if you weren't hanging out with a marauder." severus mumbled. "don't mind sev, the marauders pranked him yesterday so he's in a bad mood." stella said, rolling her eyes.

"wait, what? was it a bad prank?" marina asked, looking over at severus. "nothing they haven't done before. besides, it was mainly potter." severus said. he spat out the word potter as though it was a curse word.

"i wish they'd stop that." marina sighed, shaking her head. "well, once you start dating lupin, just ask him to stop!" regulus said happily. marina smiled and rolled her eyes.

marina stayed there for ten more minutes, stella giving her pep talks and regulus freaking out, until marina decided to go back to her own table. plus, slughorn seemed to notice she was there.

as she walked back to the hufflepuff table, she saw remus and the two of the made eye contact. he smiled at her and she smiled back, giving a small little wink.

"marina! finally!" amelia said happily, standing up. "what's wrong?" she asked, confused. "laura won't shut up about sirius." she explained. "hey!" laura said loudly, picking up a piece of toast and throwing it amelia, who grabbed it and took a bite of it.

"okay, okay, everyone sit down, i have a speech to make." hayden said. the two girls sat down and laura turned her attention to hayden.

"today is going to be amazing. marina and remus are finally going on a date, laura and sirius are 'hanging out', but everyone knows it's a date, and amelia and i will be walking all over the village." she exclaimed.

marina took a deep breath. it was going to be a good day.

"what could go wrong?" hayden finished.
