so, what year are you in?
marina stared down at the page covered in the writing of her and the mysterious boy, the page being almost completely full now.
she didn't know why she was so surprised by the question. they had really only given one thing away about each other, and that was their gender. this question was bound to come up eventually, but she didn't realize it would be now.
what would happen if she responded truthfully? would he be able to find out who she is? most people would want to know this, but she didnt want to know who this person was, in fear it would ruin everything. she hesitantly picked up her quill and wrote,
fifth year. you?
marina resisted the urge to cross it out with more ink, but instead grabbed some parchment and slipped it inside the book, almost like a bookmark, so there would be more writing space. she quickly put it away, shoving it to the back of the bookshelf, so no curious reader would read it.
as marina exited the library, she saw remus walking a little way in front of her. despite herself, she called out to him.
"lupin!"
he turned around, a confused expression painted on his face, but when he spotted marina he gave a weak smile to her and stopped walking as she ran to catch up with him.
"hello, phoenix." he said calmly, as she fell into place again, him walking slower than normally so she wouldn't have to jog to keep up.
"hey, how are you?" she asked, pushing her hair back over her shoulders. "i'm okay. is there something you need?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at her. "nope, just wanted to talk." marina responded, shrugging. remus looked at her suspiciously, before shrugging.
"laura and hayden talked to me today." he said. "oh, really? what did they say?" marina asked, slightly surprised that they would talk to remus. "some shit about us being in love." remus responded, chuckling. marina made a disgusted face.
"they've been on this thing ever since the hogsmeade trip." marina explained. remus rolled his eyes. "there's something that i actually have wanted to talk to you about." he said, scratching the back of his neck. "what's up?" she asked, turning to look at him.
"i know we have this whole enemy thing going, but i was thinking we could just be friends." he said. marinas eyes widened slightly, before taking a deep breath. "yeah, i would like that." she said, feeling her cheeks turn red though she had no idea why.
"so, truce?" remus asked. he stopped walking and held out his hand. "truce." marina said, taking his hand in hers and shaking it, a smile creeping onto both of their faces.
short chapter now, but this isn't the only chapter that will be out today.... ;)
