marina walked along the corridors of hogwarts, books piled in her arms, her eyes wandering around as she kept on getting distracted by the tiniest things.

the school year had seemed to fly by once remus and charity started dating. her schedule was the same everyday: get up, eat, attend classes, go to the library the marauders and her dorm mates, complain to stella, study, go to bed.

it was beginning of may, and she seemed to be piled with homework every night. most of her nights were spent in the common room with the other students who were stuffed with homework, and she didn't get to bed until twelve.

today, she was walking alone. stella was studying with regulus, laura, sirius, james, and amelia were discussing quidditch tactics on the field, hayden and peter were hanging out together in the gryffindor common room, and remus and charity were somewhere, marina didn't care to ask where.

as she was staring at one small spot on the walk, she felt herself run into someone and all of her books drop to the floor.

she quickly whipped her head around and found herself staring at a boy, who was in ravenclaw by the looks of his robes. she had seen him around before, just never talked to him.

"oh, i'm so sorry!" she said quickly. he smiled kindly at her. "no, it's fine, i was totally distracted." he told her, bending down to pick up her books as she did the same.

"marina, right?" he asked as he handed her her books. "yeah, sorry, what's your name?" she asked, feeling slightly embarrassed that she didn't know his name.

"felix." he said, holding out his hand. marina
quickly put all her books in one hand and shook his with the other.

"you aren't with your friends. you are normally always with them." he observed, looking around. "oh, yeah, i'm doing my own this right now." marina muttered, curious as to why felix already knew stuff about her.

"you could hang out with me. i'm going to the library, what about you?" he inquired. marina thought for a moment. "i'm going there too, i suppose i'll come with you." she said finally.

he smiled at her, before the set off towards the library.

"so, it was just a kiss but now they're dating?"

marina and felix had been in the library for the past couple hours, and marina had told him all about remus and charity.

"that's what i'm saying!" marina said, tossing her hands into the air. "i think it's stupid." he said. marina nodded in agreement.

"here's a question for you." felix said, crossing his hands in front of him. marina nodded. "why do you care so much about the kiss?"

marina opened her mouth, then shut it again. she thought hard. she didn't like remus. it was just
her being a protective friend.

"he's just a good friend." she said slowly, thinking hard. felix smiled. "well, for a second there i thought you fancied him." he said. marina crinkled up her nose in disgust. "nope, just a friend."

felix walked her back to the hufflepuff common room, and waved goodbye. they planned to meet up after school in the library. marina had already made plans to hang out with her friends and the marauders, but she figured they did it every day, so it wouldn't matter.

as she entered in the common room, she saw laura, hayden, and amelia sitting on the couch, talking in low voices.

"marina! there you are!" laura said, looking up at her. hayden jumped up from her seat and grabbed marina's hand, yanking her on to the couch with the rest of them.

"what's up?" marina asked, looking at them with a confused expression on her face. "so, remus and charity are in our fucking dormitory." laura spat, angrily staring at the stairs to the girls dormitory.

marina felt her jaw drop open and her eyes widen as she shook her head. "are they...erm...doing...?" she asked awkwardly, scratching the back of her neck.

hayden quickly got it and shook her head. "no, amelia check on them a couple of minutes, ago, they're studying." she informed her.

"so is charity not letting you up?" she asked, confused on why they were sitting down here. "no, she's okay with us being there, but she is practically obsessed with remus, so you can see how we don't want to be up there." amelia stated, shrugging.

"well, i want to change out of this damn uniform." marina muttered, pulling on the collar of her shirt.

"you can go up and change, just brace yourself." laura said, putting a hand on marina's shoulder. "it can't be that bad." marina scoffed,
shrugging off her hand and rolling her eyes.

she stood up and quickly made her way into the dormitory, knocking before entering. "come in!" she heard charity say and she pushed the door open.

remus and charity were lying on the floor, books open in front of them. remus seemed to be half asleep, but charity seemed to be wide awake and staring at him, once again, with hearts in her eyes.

"sorry to interrupt, just need to get changed." she said awkwardly. remus looked up and waved at her, his tiredness seeming to fade away as marina waved back at him.

she quickly changed into a simple yellow and
blue dress with flowers on it in the bathroom. as she was leaving, remus called, "bye, marina!"

marina felt her heart speed up and a weird feeling in her stomach emerge, but she pushed those feelings away and waved back to him, almost slamming the door shut behind her.

i'm at school rn, in the library.
