"Hello Bonnie" Kol grinned as she walked into the the bar on the other side, her face holding a sheet of annoyance.
Bonnie adjusted the bookmark in her grimoire, examining the empty mystic grill, with only her and Kol stood inside of it. I mean, who else would be in there? They are on the other side after all. "Enough with the jokes, Kol. If we're going to be stuck here together, we might as well find a way out of here...together" Lies. Bonnie wanted Kol to think he had her as a helping hand.
Kol examined Bonnie's eyes, checking to see if she was genuine about what she said. He leaned against one of the bar stools. "I don't believe you" he said. Bonnie hissed, her eyes pinned on his brooding figure. "What's there not to believe? I"— she stopped mid sentence as her eyes shot back to his.
"Last time you spilled your heart out to me, it landed me stuck in a graveyard for ten hours" he retorted. "That was before"— Kol interrupted her sentence. "Before what? Please, inform me"
"Before I realized...this hate we have for each other is overwhelming, and I'm done with hating you, Kol" another LIE Bonnie told to manipulate Kol. "You can't convince me that easily, sweetheart. I've been on this earth for almost 2000 years..." Kol exclaims. Bonnie remained quiet and swiftly removed her eyes from his. He slowly walked closer to her, and she moved back the closer he came. Bonnie's eyes widen, thinking that he was going to hurt her because of the glass bottle he fiddled with in his hand. He finally stopped walking, inches away from Bonnie. Kol sighed, and pulled out a chair for himself at one of the tables.
Bonnie was shuddered in fear, tensing a bit. She struggled to even respond, her eyes wavering. Bonnie blinked back the terror. There was no escaping Kol. She was on the other side with him for two weeks now and even before that, he was a constant pain in her life. He would always be three steps ahead of her. Bonnie took slow steps and approached the table he sat at. She lowered herself onto the seat and stared at the ring on Kol's index finger.
"That doesn't look like a daylight ring" Bonnie mumbles. "It's not" Kol replied, "it used to be my mother's before she passed. She always told my siblings and I that she would have something that meant a lot to her, be possessed by one of us when she rests and I collected her ring". Kol said with a smirk on his face. Bonnie squinted her eyes confused. She was shook at the smile Kol had after talking about his deceased mother.
"What's so amusing about your mother being dead?" Bonnie questioned Kol. "You wouldn't understand" Kol replied.
Bonnie got up and walked out of the grill onto the empty streets of mystic falls. Kol followed her and she walked to her funeral that was currently taking place in the woods. "Can you see them?" Bonnie calmly asked Kol. "No, see what?" He wasn't able to see anyone on the flip side because he hadn't learned that trick yet. Bonnie grabbed Kol's hand, which sent shivers down his spine, and tells him "think about mystic falls and the people you love". Suddenly Kol was able to see what Bonnie saw. He widened his eyes in shock, he never knew it was possible to see what happened in mystic falls where the living walked.
Bonnie watched as her friends cried at her funeral, it broke her heart seeing how her death ached them. Kol looked at what was in front of him and wondered if his family had noticed that he was gone too. It had already been two weeks, and Kol lost hope. Bonnie noticed that Damon wasn't at the funeral, did it shock her? Yes. Although her and Damon hated each other, it wasn't to the point where he wouldn't even attend her funeral. It seemed odd to her, but she ignored it. She walked around to each of her friends, telling them that they will be okay, and they shouldn't let her death slow down their lives.
Kol looked at Bonnie confused, he wondered why she was talking to them when they couldn't hear or feel her. Matt, Caroline, and Elena cried as they took a step towards the tree trunk that they had placed Bonnie's picture as memory and honor. Alaric stood with his hands crossed and his head up, trying to stay strong for everyone. "They shouldn't have to go through this" Bonnie said to Kol.
Kol looked at Bonnie confused. The word they hit him, it made him realize how selfless Bonnie was, she felt more bad for the pain her death brought upon her friends, rather than herself who was actually dead and alone. Finally Bonnie walked away, Kol following her. They walked around mystic falls in silence, not saying a word to each other. It gave them the opportunity to think about life, and what it had become for the both of them.
Yeah Kol was the big bad original vampire who had no care in the world for anyone, but he couldn't help but feel guilty. Kol was basically a teeenager himself, or at least he was when his mother turned him and his siblings. But he remembered how upset it made him. How he had to live his teenage years as the thing the town hated the most. He remembered close friends who walked out of his life, how the bright beautiful sun became his ultimate enemy, and his first kill. Everything that has happened could've been avoided if the Mikaelsons would have stayed their distance from Bonnie and her friends.
Kol broke the silence. "Your friends looked very sad". Bonnie stopped walking and turned sideways to face him. He looked sincere in his obvious remark. "Yeah, I just wish I could hug them and let them know I'm okay here alone" Bonnie told him. "Well technically, your not really here alone, your here with me" Kol replied. "Please don't remind me" She retorted. "Am I that bad? Other than stabbing you, and harassing you all the time, I find that my presence is enjoyed by others" Kol jokingly asked, except the stab and harassment part wasn't a joke. "Keyword, others" Bonnie says.
"Anyways, what's the first thing your doing when we return back to the living?" Kol asked Bonnie. "Im going to find out who killed me, what about you?" She retorted. "I'll be explaining to your friends that I had no choice but to kill you because of your irritating voice". He smirked at her knowing that he'd just piss her off even more.
"You know, I'd rather be here with any other person in the world but you" Bonnie adds. "What? Am I that bad?" Kol says releasing a chuckle. "You can be an asshole at times, actually all the time, but I guess your good looks make up for it" Bonnie said immediately regretting the words that just came out of her mouth. But your good looks make up for it. What was she thinking?
"Oh, so you think I'm good looking?" Kol asks taking a step towards Bonnie. "Well, just cuz I hate you, doesn't mean I don't find you somewhat attractive" Bonnie says stumbling on her words as her heart races. She didn't know what made her suddenly that bold, but she didn't like it. At all. Words were just flying out her mouth that she couldn't even imagine using her own voice to say.
Kol takes a closer step near Bonnie. He knew the affect his body had close to hers. "Oh really?" he bellowed. Kol nears Bonnie and she stood in front of him frozen. She couldn't move, her heart was pounding. Meanwhile, Kol's whole body was on fire, and Bonnie's was ice cold. How did a simple conversation turn into a heated moment between the two of them?
Silence. More silence. Moreeeee silence. Mooooreeeeeee silence. For a moment, it was almost as if time had stopped and it was just them. The warmth of his body against hers. His face, his lips, so close and so tempting. It took every ounce of strength Bonnie had to not attack his lips with her own.
Kol had looked forward to seeing Bonnie everyday, which was weird because they hated each other. He realized he was happy knowing he'll get to see her face everyday while their stuck on the other side. Heck, even knowing that she'll roll her eyes or throw a fit whenever he teased her or made a smart remark. He enjoyed every single part of their abusive and toxic "friendship".
Kol finally pulled away from Bonnie, after entering her intriguing thoughts as if nothing just happened between them. Bonnie quickly moved away from him as she felt tingles in her hands and chest. She felt the same thing during their last encounter, except this one had way more tension. Lust. She hadn't felt something so strong before, not even Jeremy made her feel that way while they were dating. It was almost as if she needed him and he needed her.
