Hayley and Rebekah separated from the trio to go inside a flower shop, leaving them to converse. The girls had just picked up some beignets from a local shop not too far from the house. As they indulged in the sweet-savory-doughy pastry, Caroline and Elena could not help but admire the high-spirited town of New Orleans.

Caroline spun in a circle, arms out wide. "This place is amazing," she exclaimed.

"I can't blame you if you decide to stay here forever, Bon. I mean, what's not to like about this place? It's lively, entertaining, and they have some really tasty food," Elena said, taking another huge bite of her beignet.

Bonnie clicked her tongue, "I haven't made that decision yet, but when I do, you guys will be the first to know."

"So, Bonnie. Fill us in. How has life been in New Orleans?" Elena asked.

"Well, as Caroline said, this place is amazing, but the past three years have been a bit rough. With Kol turning off his humanity and us trying to find Freya... it's been a lot," Bonnie retorted.

Caroline sighed, "When you were in Mystic Falls, you did this a lot. You would help us over and over again and the whole time, we were so caught up in the situation rather than the person who was saving us from it... I know things have been shaky for the past couple of years, but you can't let it stress you out, Bonnie."

Bonnie shrugged, "Well, it's kind of impossible not to let it get to me because there's no way to run from it. There's no way to run from being supernatural."

They became silent, not able to find a single word to utter because they knew she was right. As long as you were a vampire, werewolf- maybe even both, or a witch and sometimes a doppelganger, there was no way to avoid the problems that came along with it.

Hayley and Rebekah came back. "That bloody shop tried to sell us fake flowers," Rebekah exclaimed.

Bonnie chuckled, "Well that's New Orleans for you."

"The clerk must have thought we were dumb or something. Even after we confronted him about it, he still denied the entire thing," Hayley said, rolling her eyes. Elena and Caroline looked at each other, cracking a smile at Hayley's remark.

Caroline gasped, which made everyone jump. She then began to squeal in excitement. Elena slapped a hand to her forehead, "You have to stop doing that."

"I almost forgot! We need to get our futures read by a fortune-teller..." Caroline said, eyebrows reaching her hairline.

"The fortune-tellers here are -" Hayley began, but before she could finish her sentence, Rebekah interrupted, "Actually, I think we should do it. I want to see a future where I have a husband, many children, and the cutest dog on earth. A friendly neighbor would be a plus," she said, eyes sparkling with hope as she daydreamed.

"Do you believe in fortune-tellers, Bonnie?" Elena asked.

"Not really. They're like a run down version of an actual witch and most of them are fauxs. But I don't mind going to one just for the heck of it," Bonnie retorted.

Caroline crossed her arms, "We need to be hopeful that maybe one day we'll be able to live normal lives again. Even if it is a scam, it doesn't hurt to try, Hayley."

Hayley threw her head back, "I can't believe I'm even saying this, but fine. Let's do it!"

After walking for a couple of minutes, Klaus finally found the building he was looking for.

"Where the hell are we?" Damon asked, eyes squinting at the ancient-looking building in front of him.

"Just you wait and see," Klaus said, with a smirk on his face. He then turned the knob of the door, which was surprisingly open. "Is anyone home?" He exclaimed, making his way further into the house, Damon followed behind him.
