THE NEXT DAY...
Since their therapy session, Bonnie decided it was time to carve out some quality time for her and Kol. So, she called off work today and spent the night at the Mikaelson's since Kol hadn't moved back in with her yet.
The two were in the kitchen with chaos unfolding as they attempted to prepare breakfast for dinner. They started cooking around three p.m. Now it was five p.m., and they still hadn't finished. Kol, dedicated to pancake duty, and Bonnie, chopping fruits to top it with. They were both dressed in regular clothes, not the proper attire with all that had been going on.
Kol glanced up from his phone to tease Bonnie, snatching a strawberry from the bowl of fruit she was cutting and playfully waving it in her face.
"You think you're so funny," Bonnie said. She continued cutting the fruit, ignoring him.
"That's because I am," Kol smirked. He held the strawberry for her to grasp. "Here, you can have it back. I was just messing with you, love."
Bonnie let out a sigh and tried to grab the strawberry, but Kol quickly moved his hand before she could get to it, and it landed in his mouth instead.
Bonnie forced a smile, and in response, Kol kissed her on the cheek. She felt her heart fluttering with excitement and a big smile appeared on her face, which she couldn't hold back.
Kol let out a snicker, finding it incredibly adorable. "So you're finally giving me a real smile, huh?" he remarked.
"Only because you have soft lips," Bonnie said, trying to humble him when in reality, she loved it. Suddenly, she caught a whiff of burning and turned to Kol who was busy texting. "Kol!" she exclaimed.
"Yes, Ms. Bennett?" Kol questioned, still focused on his phone.
"The pancake is burning!" Bonnie grabbed the rag on the kitchen sink and began waving it to disperse the smoke.
Kol cursed to himself, dropped his phone on the counter, and hurriedly removed the pan, tossing it into the sink. Bonnie gave him a pointed look. "What was so important on your phone that you couldn't attend to the pancakes?"
Busy with another rag, Kol replied, "I was discussing plans, love." The smoke cleared, and they both put the rags down.
Bonnie pumped soap into her hands and turned on the faucet. "Plans like what?" she asked, washing her hands.
Kol sidled up behind Bonnie, leaning in close to her ear. Anticipation hung in the air. "Plans that don't concern you," he said, turning off the faucet as Bonnie finished rinsing her hands.
Frowning, Bonnie dried her hands with the apron she had just tied around her waist. "Seriously?"
"As serious as Klaus is with getting revenge," Kol quipped.
Bonnie chuckled. Klaus did take getting revenge pretty seriously. "Whatever. Let's finish dinner," she said.
Kol reached for the pan in the sink, but Bonnie halted him with a raised hand. "Leave the pancakes to me. You're out of your pancake league, and-"
Kol interrupted with sass. "Says the girl who hates pancakes. And, to be fair, I was a bachelor for many years before meeting you, so..."
Bonnie gasped, mockingly offended. "Are you getting sassy with me, Mikaelson?"
Kol jokingly put a hand on his hip. "Maybe I am. What are you going to do about it?"
"This." Bonnie grabbed Kol by his apron, crashing her lips into his. One of Kol's hands rested on the counter, the other on Bonnie's waist, pulling her closer.
