Caroline's body dropped to the floor, a thud sound crashing on the witch and her friend's ear.
"We have to get her on a softer surface," Bonnie said as Elena nodded.
With that, they picked up her body and slowly laid it down on the couch.
"What's wrong with her?" Elena asked, pacing back and forth the room in distress. All Bonnie could do was shrug, because if she was being frank, she didn't know what happened to her either. Usually, it's a stake to the heart that would kill a vampire, but the stake landed in her neck!
Kol caught Bonnie's gaze as she took slow steps to the front door. He was standing on the front porch, a smirk on his face like something was funny.
"What did you do to Caroline?" Bonnie asked.
"Nothing much, I just rubbed some werewolf venom on the stake. And don't worry, you'll have enough time to mope and mourn over her slow death." Kol said. "May I come in?"
Elena made way to the door and stood next to Bonnie, her fists balled in anger at the sight of the original. "Get out of here, Kol!"
"No can do," Kol said, a finger pointed as he was about to make his point. "See, my current goal is to make all your lives miserable and judging by the look on your two's faces, I can proudly say that I have accomplished part of that goal. Now if you excuse me, I'd like to have a word with your witchy friend who I thought was dead."
"I'm not going anywhere," Elena said as Kol chuckled. She was human and he was a vampire. The only thing that protected her from him at the moment, was that he couldn't get into the house. Best believe if he could, Elena would not be standing here talking.
"I can't even enter the bloody house. What's the worst thing that I could possibly do," Kol argued.
"Just go inside," Bonnie told Elena. "I'll deal with him."
With that, the doppelganger went back inside of the living room to look after Caroline.
Bonnie took a step out of the house. Kol's brows raised. Was she not scared that he'd just vamp speed to her and snap her neck?! Well, if that's what he thought then he was wrong. Bonnie refused to fear a damn original!
"Look at you being all brave...it's kinda hot," Kol said.
Bonnie ignored his words. "Why are you causing havoc in my life?"
"Because, that's always been my plan," Kol said, with a shrug. "But you have enhanced my desire to complete that plan when you lied to me. And frankly, I don't like being lied to, Bonnie."
Bonnie's brows furrowed. "I didn't lie to you! I don't even speak to you," she said.
Kol gave a half shrug. "We're speaking right now."
"Trust me, if I didn't have any reason to talk, I wouldn't be speaking to you, right now, at all," Bonnie hissed. "You stabbed me with a stake."
Kol threw his head back and sighed. "Are we seriously still on this? That was a week ago."
"Does it not occur to you that I almost died," Bonnie said. "But then again, you're a heartless, cold-blooded murderer. Why would it matter to you?"
Something about those words, especially since they were coming from Bonnie made his blood boil. For some reason, he took it personal when it was coming out of her mouth. And boy did it piss him the hell off!
He picked up the closest weapon he could find next to him, which just so happened to be a long-thick branch. He threw it at her, but she dodged it, as Kol blinked back, a look of shock worn on his face.
