Mitch's Johto Journey

Reflective Surfaces

               Mitch and Cyndaquil stand in a grassy field opposite of a slightly older looking trainer with short black hair and a black beard. " I'm John, what's your name and how many Pokémon do you currently have on you?" " I'm Mitch and I have three Pokémon on me. If you're looking for a battle, I'll accept it with zero problems!"  " Okay, a three-on-three battle it is then. Dunsparce, I choose you," John exclaims whilst throwing a Nest Ball into the air. " Dun, Dun, Dunsparce, Sparce," it cries as it lands in front of John and Mitch brings out his Pokedex. " Dunsparce, the Land Snake Pokémon, a Normal type, this Pokémon's tiny wings have some scientists saying that Dunsparce used to fly through the sky in ancient times." " Alright, Teddiursa, I choose you," Mitch hollers as he throws a Poke Ball into the air.  " Ursa, Ursa, Teddiursa," it cries as it lands in front of Dunsparce and gets into a battle stance. 

            " Dunsparce, attack with Ancient Power," John commands as Dunsparce summons a bunch of old looking and eroded rocks and sends them towards Teddiursa. " Dodge that and use Scratch," Mitch orders as, " Ursaaaaa," Teddiursa jumps over the rocks and slashes Dunsparce across the face with its glowing white left hand claws. " Spaaaarce," Dunsparce briefly cries out before John commands it to, " use Screech!"" Dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnspaaaaaaaaaarce," it loudly cries and the shockwave from the noise hits Teddiursa and sends it stumbling backwards as it holds its ears. " Ursaaaaaaa," it cries as its body temporarily glows light purple to show that its Defense has been lowered. " Use Rollout," " Use Baby-Doll Eyes," both trainers shout at the same time. " Urrrrrrr," Teddiursa whispers as its eyes glow bright pink and it stares at Dunsparce with a cute look on its face. Dunsparce's body briefly glows light pink to show that its Attack stat has been lowered before it forms its body into a ball and begins to roll towards Teddiursa.  " Ursaaaaaaaaaa," it cries as Dunsparce slams into it and knocks it on its back.   Dunsparce changes course and begins to roll back towards its foe as Mitch quickly exclaims, " Use Sweet Scent to stop it and then attack with Fury Swipes!" 

             " Tedddddd," it cries as it holds out its right paw, and a nice smelling scent blows out from it. The scent hits the rolling Dunsparce and forces it to stop its attack as it smells the scent. " Duuuun," it happily says as its body glows light green and its evasiveness is lowered. " Ursaaaaaaa," Teddiursa cries as the claws on both of its paws glow white before it jumps forward and begins to aggressively and repeatedly slash Dunsparce across the face. " Spaaaaaarce," it cries out as it takes more and more damage from the attack. Eventually, the attack stops and Dunsparce's head droops towards the ground with spirals in its eyes. John returns Dunsparce to its Nest Ball, puts it back in his pocket, and pulls a Great Ball out of his pocket. " Go, Girafarig," he exclaims whilst throwing the Great Ball into the air. " Gira, Gira, Farig, Girafarig," it shouts while landing in front of Teddiursa with a loud thud. " Girafarig,  the Long Neck Pokémon, a Normal and Psychic type, its tail has a separate small brain. The tail bites to repel any foe trying to sneak up on the Pokémon from behind." " Alright, Teddiursa, use Fury Swipes again," Mitch orders as Teddiursa jumps at the new arrival with its claws glowing white. " Jump out of the way and then use Stomp," John cries as Girafarig jumps into the air, causing Teddiursa to hit nothing except air with its attack, and its right front hoof begins to glow white. " Giraaaaaa," it cries as it lands on top on Teddiursa with its glowing hoof, causing a small cloud of dust to appear. 

           As the dust settles, Girafarig stands over top of a downed Teddiursa. " Ursaa," it weakly whimpers as spirals appear in its eyes. Mitch quickly returns the defeated Normal type and begins to think over his other two options. Eventually, he makes a decision, " Cyndaquil, I choose you!" " Quil, Quil, " it cries as it ignites its back flame, runs into the battlefield, and has a stare down with Girafarig.  " Use Tackle," Mitch orders and Cyndaquil begins to run towards Girafarig. " Counter with Reflect and then use Stomp," John commands as " Giraaa," Girafarig summons a clear, glass-like square in front of its body. " Quiiiiil" Cyndaquil shouts as its Tackle hits the Reflect causing it to take the damage that Girafarig would have received from its attack. Cyndaquil falls backwards and hits the ground hard as Girafarig jumps into the air and prepares to use Stomp. However, when Girafarig begins to descend, Mitch yells, " hide yourself with Smokescreen and then use Ember!" " Quiiiiiiil," it cries as it breathes out a cloud of black smoke that hides it from view and causes Girafarig's attack to hit nothing. " Giraa," it questionably whispers before " Quiiiiiiil," multiple small fireballs are fired from somewhere inside the smoke cloud and hit Girafarig in the side.
