Croconaw's Shocking Experience

  " Impressive,"  Mitch says as Atto shows him a badge case full of eight badges. " Thanks, I'm still a little unsure of when I'll start training for the Johto League, I think some downtime would be great before doing that," he replies whilst putting his badge case away. " Sounds good! But, before you get a little too lazy, would you want to have a rematch between Croconaw and Chinchou," he asks as he holds up Croconaw's Poké Ball. " I guess we could do that, but you might be surprised at how much Chinchou has changed," Atto says before pulling a Lure Ball out of his pocket. " Come on out," he says while hitting the open button on the Lure Ball. "Lan, Lan, Turn, Lanturn, Lan," the definitely not Chinchou shouts as Mitch gets a confused look on his face before he pulls out his Pokédex.

  " Lanturn, the Light Pokémon, a Water and Electric-type, the evolved form of Chinchou, it lives far down in the depths of the ocean. It blinds its prey with light, using the moment they're dazzled to swallow them whole." " Yeah, it evolved a couple of days after our fifth gym battle in Goldenrod City," Atto explains whilst rubbing the back of his head. " That just makes things better," Mitch shouts with an eager grin on his face. " It means that Croconaw gets a chance to train against a Pokémon that's way stronger than the one it fought last time," he exclaims before throwing Croconaw's Poké Ball into the air. " Crooooccc," Croconaw yawns whilst lying on its back and staring up at the sky. " Tuurrnn," Lanturn giggles whilst poking at Croconaw's foot with one of its fins. " Crooooccc," it grunts as it looks up, sees Lanturn and Atto, jumps to its feet, and gets into a battle stance. " Great to see that it still has the same fighting spirit it used to have," Atto says before he and Mitch back up to give Croconaw and Lanturn enough room to battle in.

  " Okay, I'm the one that wanted to battle, so we'll start! Use Dragon Claw," Mitch shouts as the claws on Croconaw's right hand glow purple and it prepares to hit Lanturn with them. " Use Thunderbolt," Atto orders as Lanturn fires a medium sized bolt of electricity from its antenna. " I think you know what to do Croconaw," Mitch hollers before Croconaw fires Water Gun at the ground, propelling it high into the air and allowing it to avoid Thunderbolt. " Naaaaaawwww," it shouts as it quickly descends and slashes Lanturn across the back with Dragon Claw. " Laaaaan," it cries as Croconaw lands a few feet in front of it. " Can't believe I forgot about that trick. Use Discharge," Atto says with slightly annoyed look on his face. " Lllllllaaaannn," it cries while releasing six bolts of electricity from its antenna. " Crooooooooooooccccccccc," it exclaims as the bolts give it a severe shock and almost knock it down. " Try to use Blizzard," Mitch yells as Croconaw releases a blast of giant snow flurries from its mouth. " Rising Voltage," Atto exclaims as " Laaaaaaaaaaaan," Lanturn makes multiple large lightning bolts rise up out of the ground. The lightning bolts destroy the Blizzard snowflakes, but completely peter out before they can hit Croconaw. 

  " Use Crunch," Mitch orders before Croconaw's mouth becomes outlined in a black aura and it powerful bites down on Lanturn's left fin. " Tttttttturrrrrnnnn," it cries as the pain moves through its body. " Get it off of you with Brine," Atto hollers before Lanturn's body becomes outlined in a light blue aura. " Laaaaannn," it cries as a stream of light blue water is fired out of its chest. " Naaawww," Croconaw grunts as it is pushed back a couple of feet by the water stream. " Now use Bubble Beam," he exclaims before Lanturn releases multiple giant bubbles from its mouth. " Destroy the bubbles with Dragon Claw and then use Headbutt," Mitch shouts as Croconaw slices through the bubbles with its glowing purple claws before running forward with its head outstretched. " Wild Charge,"  Atto mumbles whilst bright yellow electricity begins to engulf Lanturn's body. " Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnntuuuuuuuuurrrrrnnnnnnn," it screams before jumping forward and slamming into Croconaw. " Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwww," it exclaims as its Headbutt is immediately overpowered by the Wild Charge. Croconaw hits the ground on its body with a loud thud as Lanturn next to it and takes Recoil Damage. Right when the Recoil Damage ends, Lanturn is forced to shield its eyes due to Croconaw's body being engulfed in a blinding white light. 

   " Seriously! What are the odds that both of its evolutions would happen in battles with my Lanturn," Atto asks as Mitch shrugs and the glowing stops. " Feraaaaaaaaaliiiiiigaaaaaatr," Mitch's freshly evolved Feraligatr roars before getting back its feet. " Feraaaaaa," it shouts as the spine on the top of its head flashes blue and it releases a large stream of water from its mouth. " Laaaaaaaaaaannnn," Lanturn cries as the attack hits it in the side and pushes it against the base of a nearby tree. " And what are the odds that it would learn a new move in each of its battles with your Lanturn. Last time it learned Dragon Claw and this time it learned Hydro Pump," Mitch says while Lanturn slowly crawls back into the battle area. " Dragon Claw," " Discharge," they both command at the same time. Feraligatr quickly rushes forward with its glowing purple claws outstretched, but Lanturn is halted from using Discharge by a surge of pain going through its body. " Laaaaaaaaaaannnn," it screams as Feraligatr gives it a powerful slice to the face. " Laann," it groans as its head droops to the ground and spirals form in its eyes.

  " And what are the odds that we would lose again," Atto chuckles before sending Lanturn back to its Lure Ball. " Feraaaaaaaaa," Feraligatr loudly yawns before lying down on its stomach and immediately going to sleep. " Really," Mitch groans as Feraligatr begins to snore. He recalls the lazy Water-type before walking over to Atto and giving him a high five. " That really showed me that I don't need downtime, I gotta to start training now," he says as Mitch nods. " Yeah, now I have to go and get my final gym badge so I can start training for the league. Clair of Blackthorn City is my final challenge," he replies. " She's definitely a tough one, but you got this," Atto says while patting Mitch on the shoulder.
