Full Battle on Route 35 ( Part 1)

            " ARE YOU KIDDING ME! YOU BEAT HER ON YOUR FIRST TRY AND I BARELY MANAGED TO BEAT HER ON MY 2ND TRY," an angry Joe shouts as Mitch shows him his Plain Badge. After defeating Whitney, Mitch and Quilava made their way out of Goldenrod City and up through Route 35 on their way to Ecruteak City and halfway up the route they ended up running into Joe. " I guess this means that I've become a better battler than you," Mitch smirks as Quilava chuckles. " OH, NO. I refuse to believe that. Let's have a Full Battle. Right here. Right now. So, I can prove you wrong," a red faced Joe angrily says while holding up a Poke Ball. Mitch briefly flashes back to the first Full Battle he had with Joe back in Kanto and how furious and overconfident he was before it and remembers how he ended up being way outmatched. Joe is acting nearly the exact same way that Mitch was then and that causes him to eagerly grin. " Fine, I accept your challenge. You move first," Mitch says.

          " Sneasel, let's put this loser in his place," Joe shouts whilst throwing his Poke Ball into the air. " Sneas, Sel, Sneasel, Sneas," it cries as it appears in front of Joe and slashes at the air a few times with its claws. " Sneasel, the Sharp Claw Pokémon, a Dark and Ice type, Sneasel scales trees by punching its hooked claws into the bark. This Pokémon seeks out unguarded nests and steals eggs for food while the parents are away." " Alright, Quilava, I choose you," Mitch says as his Johto starter ignites its back flames and runs forward to face Sneasel.  " Use Ember," Mitch orders as Quilava shoots multiple fireballs out of its mouth. " Use Feint Attack and then Slash," Joe exclaims as Sneasel disappears in a flash of black energy, causing Quilava's Ember to miss. " Seeeeeeeel," it exclaims as it reappears next to Quilava and punches it in the face, cause it in stumble backwards. " Sneaaaaaas," it hollers as the claws on its right arm glow white and extend a few inches before it jumps forward and slashes Quilava across the face. " Laaavaaa," it cries as it stumbles backwards and rubs its face. " Now use Quick Attack," Joe commands as Sneasel, with a white energy streak trailing behind it,  begins to run very fast towards Quilava.  " Quick, use Lava Plume," Mitch exclaims as Quilava rears up on its hind legs before slamming its glowing crimson red front legs down on the ground, causing a geyser of lava to shoot up from beneath Sneasel. " Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeel," it cries in pain as it is thrown through the air by the Super Effective move. It lands on the ground with a loud thud and doesn't get back up, spirals appear in its eyes a few seconds after impact.

            " SERIOUSLY," an angry Joe shouts whilst returning Sneasel. " Maybe, you should have done more training," Mitch mockingly says as Quilava chuckles and smirks. " Oh, I'm far from done! Tyrogue, get out here and crush these losers," Joe hollers while throwing another Poke Ball into the air. " Ty, Ty, Rogue, Tyrogue," he shouts as he gets into a battle stance. " Tyrogue, the Scuffle Pokémon, a Fighting-type, even though it is small, it can't be ignored because it will slug any handy target without warning." " Quilava, use Flame Wheel," Mitch orders, but Joe has other plans, " stop them dead in their tracks with Fake Out!" " Tyyyyyyyy," he roars as he slams his fists together, sending a small shockwave towards Quilava. " Lavaaa," it mumbles as the shockwave hits it and causes it to flinch. " Use Seismic Toss while its distracted," Joe shouts as Tyrogue rushes forward, grabs Quilava in his arms, jumps into the air, and spins around for a few seconds before throwing Quilava to the ground. " Laaaaava," it whimpers as it lands face first in the dirt and Tyrogue lands next to it. " Use Flame Wheel," " Use Focus Energy," both trainers shout at the same time as Quilava rolls into a ball of fire and Tyrogue flexes its muscles while its body briefly becomes surrounded by an orange aura. 

                  " Tyyyyyyyy," Tyrogue shouts as Quilava slams into him and knocks him back. " Use your Low Sweep," Joe commands as Quilava uncurls from its attack. " Rooooooogue," he shouts as both of his feet glow white and he sweeps his legs underneath Quilava's front legs, causing it to trip. " Laaavaa," it mumbles as it hits the ground and Joe yells, " wrap this up with Retaliate!" " Tyyyyyyyyroooooooguue," he angrily shouts as his body becomes outlined in a reddish brown aura before he rushes forward and gives Quilava a powerful ( the move is increased in power due to Sneasel being the last Pokémon to faint) punch to the face. " Laaaaaaavaaaaa," it screams as it is sent rolling across the battlefield and lands at Mitch's feet with spirals in its eyes. " 1 loser down, five to go," Joe smirks as Mitch puts Quilava in its Poke Ball so it can recuperate. " Sounds like you're getting a little too cocky for somebody that has only beaten me once. Phanpy, I choose you," Mitch says whilst throwing a Poke Ball into the air. " Phan, Phan, Phanpy, Py," it shouts as it lands in a battle stance and happily waves at Tyrogue with its trunk. To the slight disappointment of Phanpy, a stoic looking Tyrogue doesn't return the wave. 

       " Phanpy, use Ice Shard," Mitch commands as Phanpy fires a small beam of ice from its mouth. " Dodge that and use Mega Punch," Joe exclaims as Tyrogue jumps out of the way of the Ice Shard and his right fist briefly glows white before he descends towards Phanpy with his fist outstretched. " Protect yourself with Defense Curl and then use Seed Bomb," Mitch hollers as Phanpy curls into a ball, causing Tyrogue's attack to do no damage when it hits. " Pyyyyyyy," Phanpy yells as it uncurls and fires a large seed made of dark green energy from its nose. " Tyyyyyyyy," he cries as the seed explodes on his chest and knocks him backwards. He lands on his back in front of Joe and struggles to get back up. " Use Take Down," Mitch orders as Phanpy runs towards Tyrogue with 4 bright red energy streaks surrounding its body. " Phaaaaaaan," it screams as it slams into Tyrogue and sends it flying. " Tyyyyyyyyy," he cries as he gets slammed into a nearby fence post, he lands on his butt at the bottom of the post with spirals in his eyes. 

         " Croconaw, get out here and crush these losers," Joe angrily hollers as he recalls Tyrogue and throws another Poke Ball into the air.  Phanpy winces in pain from the Take Down Recoil Damage as Croconaw lands in a battle stance in front of it. " Use Aqua Tail," Joe commands as Croconaw's tail becomes covered in water, but, before it can hit Phanpy, Mitch yells, " Use Ice Shard on its tail!" " Pyyyyyy," it mumbles as it fires the small beam of ice out of its mouth and it causes Croconaw's tail to become frozen, cancelling out its Aqua Tail. " Nawww," a bewildered Croconaw shouts as it stares in shock at its frozen tail. " Break the ice with Slash," Joe exclaims as the claws on Croconaw's right hand glow white and extend a few inches. " Naw, Naaw, Naaaaw, Naww," it shouts as it repeatedly slashes at the ice, breaking off tiny little bits with each hit. " Use Seed Bomb and then Take Down," Mitch orders as Phanpy fires the dark green energy seed from its nose. " Naaaaaaaaaaaaw," it cries as the seed explodes on its belly and knocks it backwards. It lands very hard on the ground, causing the ice on its tail to shatter on impact. 

          " Get up, Croconaw! Get up and use Hydro Pump," Joe commands as Croconaw struggles to get back up whilst Phanpy, with its body surrounded by four streaks of bright red energy, runs towards it. Croconaw manages to get back up, but doesn't even have time to start up its Hydro Pump, Phanpy slams into it and sends it stumbling backwards. Croconaw briefly falls to one knee, but quickly gets back up as Phanpy suffers from more Recoil Damage. " Use Rollout," Mitch orders as Phanpy curls into a ball and rolls very fast towards Croconaw. " Use Hydro Pump," Joe commands as Croconaw fires a large stream of water out of its mouth. The Rolling Phanpy slams into the Hydro Pump and struggles to push through it as Mitch and Joe look on.
