Mitch's Johto Journey

An Eggciting Tournament ( Part 3)

   " Round 3 of this Harebell Town Tournament will now begin! In the left corner, we have Mitch from Pallet Town and in the right, we have Yona from New Bark Town," the referee yells as the crowd cheers and Mitch and a female trainer take their places. " We have decided that Mitch will get the first move! Let this battle commence," the ref exclaims as Mitch searches his pocket for a Poké Ball. " Noctowl, I choose you," he hollers as he throws a ball into the sky. " Noct, Noct, Owl, Noctowl," it hoots whilst hovering in the air a few feet above the battlefield. "I choose Quilava," Yona says as she throws out a Poké Ball of her own. " Lava, Lava, Quil, Quilava, Lava," it cries as it ignites its back flames. 

   " Use Air Slash," Mitch commands as Noctowl uses its wings to send a long and sharp wave of wing in Quilava's direction. " Evade that and use Fire Fang," Yona yells as Quilava jumps over the Air Slash, coats its teeth in fire, and bites down on Noctowl's right side. " Noooooooooooct," it screeches as Quilava refuses to lessen its grip. " Use Psychic to get it off of you," Mitch yells as Noctowl's eyes glow pink and it uses telekinesis to lift Quilava off of it and fling it to the ground. " Lavaa," it groans before getting back to its feet. " Iron Head," Yona commands as the top of Quilava's head becomes coated in metal and it jumps upwards, slamming the head directly into Noctowl's chest. " Noooooooooooct," it cries as it is briefly knocked to the ground, but gets back into the air just as Quilava lands back on the ground. " Use Sky Attack," MItch exclaims as Noctowl flies high into the sky and its body becomes surrounded by a golden aura before it rapidly descends towards Quilava. 

     " Counterattack with a Wild Charge," Yona yells as Quilava's body becomes surrounded by electricity and it jumps at the incoming Noctowl. " Toooooooowl," " Laaaaaavaaaa," both of them cry as they collide and their attacks create an explosion that knocks both of them backwards. Noctowl manages to catch itself before it hits the ground as Quilava lands on its right side and struggles back to its feet whilst taking the Recoil Damage from Wild Charge. Quilava manages to get to all fours before its body begins to shake and it begins to stumble a little. " Aerial Ace," Mitch yells as Noctowl's body becomes surrounded by several streaks of white energy and it flies towards Quilava at an incredible speed. " Laaaaaaaaaaavaaaaa," it cries as Noctowl slams into it and knocks it over on its back. " Quillll," it grunts as spirals appear in its eyes. 

  " Quilava is unable to continue," the referee exclaims as Yona recalls Quilava to its Poké Ball and brings out a Sport Ball. " Beedrill, let's make this an aerial battle," she cries as she throws the ball into the sky. " Bee, Bee, Drill, Beedrill, Bee, Bee," it buzzes as it flies forward and has a stare-down with Noctowl. " Use Zen Headbutt," Mitch yells as the top of Noctowl's head becomes engulfed by pink psychic energy and it flies at Beedrill with its head outstretched. " Push back with Poison Jab," Yona orders as Beedrill's large stinger becomes coated in dark purple energy. " Beeeeeeeeee," it shouts whilst slamming the stinger against Noctowl's head. The two of them clash for several seconds before Noctowl manages to push forward and slam its Zen Headbutt against Beedrill's chest. " Driiiiiiiiiilllllll," it cries as it struggles to stay in the air.  " Extrasensory," Mitch shouts as " Nooooooooooooooooct," Noctowl fires a circular beam of rainbow energy out of its mouth. 

  " Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," Beedrill screams as it is caught in the beam and knocked to the ground by it. Beedrill lies motionless on the ground for a few minutes, but manages to get up and weakly manage to get back into the air. " Finish it with Tackle," Mitch orders as Noctowl flies down towards Beedrill. " Try to use Pin Missile," Yona cries as Beedrill's hand stingers glow yellowish green and it starts to fire yellow energy needles from the stingers. However, it only manages to fire off 4 needles from each stinger, which hardly faze Noctowl, before Noctowl slams into it with its entire body and knocks back to the ground. " Beeee," it weakly buzzes as spirals form in its eyes. 

  " Beedrill is done," the ref shouts as Yona lets out a frustrated moan before putting Beedrill back in its Sport Ball. " Tauros, I could really use your help right now," she shouts whilst throwing an Ultra Ball. " Tauuuuuuuurrrrr," it roars as it lands in the battlefield and kicks up some dust. The second Tauros appears, Noctowl's body flashes bright red, causing Mitch to look to his Pokédex to see what happened. " Intimidate, when a Pokémon with this ability enters battle, the Attack stat of the opposing Pokémon is decreased by one stage." " Crap, I guess we're sticking to Special Attacks. Use Air Slash," Mitch says as Noctowl uses its wings to send the attack towards Tauros. " Dodge and attack with Raging Bull," Yona yells as Tauros jumps over the Air Slash and its body becomes surrounded by a grey aura. The grey aura eventually all moves into both of its horns, causing both of them to glow bright grey and extend a few inches. " Rooooooooooooossss," it roars as it slams both of the horns against Noctowl's body, knocking it out of the sky. "Noccttt," it groans as it lies on its back with spirals in its eyes.

 " Noctowl can no longer fight," the referee yells as Mitch recalls Noctowl and pulls out another  Poké Ball from his pocket. " Now I choose Forretress," he hollers while throwing the ball. " Tress. Tress, Forretress," it grumbles as it lands in the battlefield with a loud crash. " Use Ice Spinner," he yells as Forretress begins to spin around with ice engulfing its body. " Treeeeeess," it grunts as it spins forward and slams into the chest of Tauros, sending it stumbling backwards. Forretress lands on the ground in front of Mitch as Tauros shakes off the pain from the attack. "  Now try a Bug Bite," Mitch orders as the mouth of Forretress glows yellowish green and it jumps back towards Tauros. "Flamethrower," Yona exclaims as Tauros breathes a medium sized stream of fire from its mouth. " Treeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessss," it loudly cries as it slams face first into the Flamethrower and is knocked backwards. Forretress lands with a loud thud in front of Mitch and appears to have been knocked out until its body flashes white and it manages to barely get back up." Drat! Its ability saved it," Yona whines as Mitch uses his Pokédex to see what ability Forretress has. 

  " Sturdy, this ability keeps a Pokémon from being defeated in one hit. In addition, One-Hit Knockout Moves like Fissure and Sheer Cold have no effect." " Great ability! Use Flash Cannon," Mitch shouts as Forretress fires a beam of silver energy out of its mouth. " Rooooooss," Tauros cries as the attack explodes on its back and almost knocks it down. " Stay strong, Tauros! Use Body Slam," Yona commands as Tauros jumps into the air and falls down on Forretress with all of its body weight. " Treesss," Forretress groans as Tauros steps off of it. It takes about a minute, but spirals form in the eyes of Forretress as Tauros lets out a victorious grunt. 

  " Forretress is unable to battle," the referee hollers as Mitch returns Forretress to its ball. " You're my last hope, Pupitar," Mitch yells whilst tossing out another ball. " Tar, Tar, Pup, Pupitar, Tar," it grunts as it appears in the battlefield. " Snarl," Mitch exclaims as " Taaaaaaaaaaaaarr," Pupitar releases a sound wave of black energy from its mouth. " Taaaaaaaaaurrrrrr," Tauros cries as the sound wave pushes it backwards several feet and its body flashes black to show that its Special Attack was lowered by the Snarl. " Use Smart Strike," Yona shouts as the tip of Tauros' horn glows silver and it stabs Pupitar between the eyes with it. " Taaaaaaarrrr," it grunts as it tries to shake off the pain. " Told tight, Pupitar! Use Stone Edge," he screams as Pupitar manages to summon multiple grey stones with sharp tips and sends them at Tauros. " Evade that attack and use Raging Bull," she commands as Tauros jumps over the stones from Stone Edge. " Roooss," it grunts as it slams its glowing grey horns against Pupitar, knocking it backwards. 

  " Taaaaaaaarr," Pupitar grumbles as it lands on its back a couple of feet in front of Mitch. " Tauros, it's time to end this! Use another Smart Strike," Yona exclaims as Tauros' horn tip glows silver while it stampedes towards Pupitar. " This might be an extremely stupid move, but use Hyper Beam," Mitch screams as Pupitar manages to get back up and " Puuuuuuuuuuuuupiiiiiiiiiiiiitaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar," fire a large beam of bright red energy out of its mouth. " Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaurrrrrrrroooooooooooossssss," it cries as the powerful Normal-type move hits it head on and flings it backwards. " Roooss," it moans as it lands on its side in front of Yona with spirals in its eyes. " Tauros is unable to battle! Mitch is our first competitor that will be moving on to Round 4," the ref yells as Mitch jumps into the air in excitement before running over and embracing Pupitar.
