Mitch and Typhlosion walk out of a small forested area and find themselves on the bank of a large lake with multiple fallen logs floating in it and extremely large lily pads covering it. " This has got to be the Lake of Rage. I wonder if Joe is here already," Mitch asks whilst looking around. " Oh, I've been here for weeks! Was beginning to think you losers were too afraid to show up," Joe says as he walks out from behind a large tree. " I would hope that you losers would have spent this time training, but I know you've definitely not being doing that, so lets go ahead and get this battle over with," he says before retrieving a Great Ball from his pocket. " Oh, you're about to be surprised," MItch replies whilst pulling out a Poké Ball. " I choose you," they exclaim at the same time whilst throwing their respective balls.

" Ursa, Ursa, Ring, Ursa, Ursaring," " Pluff, Pluff, Jump, Jumpluff," Mitch's Ursaring and Joe's Jumpluff shout as they come out of their balls. " Jumpluff, the Cottonweed Pokémon, a Grass and Flying-type, the evolved form of Skiploom and the final evolved form of Hoppip, blown by seasonal winds, it circles the globe, scattering cotton spores as it goes." " Start this battle off with Metal Claw," Mitch shouts as Ursaring's right paw and claws become coated in silver metal whilst it charges at Jumpluff. " Push it back with Fairy Wind,"  Joe mumbles before Jumpluff blows a large gust of pink wind out of its mouth. " Urrrrrrrrr," it growls as the wind pushes it backwards and knocks it against a tree. " Poison Powder," Joe whispers as Jumpluff flies over Ursaring and releases a lot of purple powder out of its head. " Ursaaaaaaaaa," it loudly screams as it breathes in the attack and Poison damage surges through its body. However, instead of getting upset, Mitch eagerly grins. After several seconds pass, Ursaring's eyes glow bright red and it lets out a loud roar, " Ursaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" " I think I'll let my Pokédex explain what's happening here," he says whilst pointing the device in Joe's direction. " Guts, this ability is activated when the Pokémon that has it gets a Status Condition. It increases that Pokémon's Attack power." " I had a hunch that you would use Jumpluff in this battle and since you like to use it to inflict Status Conditions on your opponents, I knew Ursaring would be the perfect counter for it! Use Slash," Mitch exclaims as the claws on Ursaring's right paw glow white and extend a couple of inches before it uses them to slice Jumpluff across the face. " Juuuuuuuuuuuumppp," it screams as it is knocked out of the air by the attack and lands on the ground with a loud thud.

" Pluuuff," Jumpluff whimpers before spirals appear in its eyes. " Whatever! I can get around your stupid Attack increase! Hitmontop, get out here," Joe shouts as he recalls Jumpluff and throws out a Poké Ball. " Top, Top, Hitmontop, Top," he cries as he lands on the ground and spins around on his head for several seconds. " Ursaring, return for now," Mitch yells whilst sending it back to its ball. " WHAT ARE YOU DOING," Joe shouts in an angered tone. " What? We never say that switching out wouldn't be allowed in this battle. Noctowl, I choose you!" " Noct, Noct, Owl, Noctowl," it hoots as it flies into the air.  " Whatever! We can still take you out! Use Close Combat," Joe exclaims as Hitmontop jumps towards Noctowl and prepares to hit it with all of his limbs. " Fly up higher to avoid the attack and then try out Sky Attack," Mitch hollers as Noctowl flies up a few feet higher, causing HItmontop's attack to miss. Noctowl's body becomes surrounded by a golden aura and it rapidly moves downwards, slamming directly into a still descending Hitmontop. " Tooooooooooopp," he screams as he is slammed hard against the ground. " Hitmontop, we're not done here! Get up and use Stone Edge!" " Tooooooop," he yells as he jumps to its feet, summons a bunch of rectangular, grey stones with sharp tips, and sends them at Noctowl. " Nooooooooooooct," it cries as the stones explode on its chest and knock it to the ground.

" Now time for a blast from the past! Finish it off with Retaliate," Joe yells as Hitmontop's body becomes outlined by a reddish brown aura. " Toooooooooooop," he loudly exclaims as he runs at Noctowl, who has just managed to stand back up, and prepares to punch it. " That move is getting a power boost since one of his Pokémon was the last one to faint, so use Reflect," Mitch shouts as Noctowl's eyes briefly flash pink and a clear, glass-like square appears in front of its body. " Toooooooooooooooooooooooooooppp," Hitmontop screams in a pained tone as he punches the square and bounces off of it, taking all the damage that Noctowl would have taken from the Retaliate. Hitmontop lands on his back and spirals appear in his eyes a couple of seconds after he lands. " Tooopp," he mumbles as Joe recalls him. " Don't you losers get your hopes up! You may still have all six Pokémon remaining, but this battle is far from over! Qwilfish, get out here," he exclaims whilst throwing a Lure Ball towards the lake. " Qwil, Qwil, Fish, Qwilfish, Qwil," it babbles as it lands in the water with a small splash.

" Qwilfish, the Balloon Pokémon, a Water and Poison-type, a Qwilfish uses the pressure of water it swallows to shoot toxic quills all at once from all over its body. It finds swimming to be somewhat challenging," the Pokédex explains before Mitch puts it away. " Air Slash," Mitch yells as Noctowl, who has managed to get back into the air, uses its wings to send a long and sharp wave of wind at Qwilfish. " Minimize," Joe shouts before Qwilfish shrinks down to an almost microscopic size and manages to avoid being hit by the Air Slash. " Poison Tail," he says as Qwilfish returns to normal size and its tail starts to glow purple. " Qwiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil," it yells whilst jumping out of the water and slamming its tail across Noctowl's face. " Nooooooooooccc,"it yells as it is knocked back to the ground. " Noooo...ct.....owllll," it groans while struggling to get back up only to quickly collapse, its body goes limp and spirals appear in its eyes. " One down, five to go," Joe says with a malicious grin as Qwilfish returns to the water and Mitch recalls Noctowl.
