Chikorita and the King of the Well

                Rain pours from the sky as Mitch commands Cyndaquil to," Use Flame Wheel!" " Cyndaaaaa," it cries as it rolls into a ball of fire and heads towards its opponent: a wild Chikorita. " Ritaaaaaaaa," it cries as it barely dodges the attack, summons a bunch of sharp green leaves out of thin air, and fires them at Cyndaquil. " Stop that Razor Leaf with Defense Curl and then use Ember," Mitch orders as Cyndaquil curls up into a ball, causing the Razor Leaf to harmlessly slam into it. " Cyndaaaaaaaaa," it cries as it uncurls and shoots multiple small fire balls out of its mouth. The fire balls slam into Chikorita and, despite being weakened in power by the rain, cause massive damage. " Chikoooooooo," it cries as it stumbles backwards from the attack. " Use Flame Wheel while it's still recovering," Mitch hollers as Cyndaquil curls back into a ball of fire and rolls towards Chikorita.  " Rittttttttttttaaaaaa," in screams as Cyndaquil slams into it, but it would appear that the attack is a little too strong as Chikorita is sent flying and lands in a nearby well. 

             Cyndaquil looks back at Mitch and nervously sweat drops as he says, " we're trying to catch it, not put it in a coma."  Suddenly, " Chikoooooooooooooo." Chikorita is telepathically send flying out of the well and ends up slamming into a tree, which appears to knock it out. " What was that" " Quil, Quil, Cynda," they both shout at the same time as a strange sound comes from the well, " Sloooooooowwwww!" Out of the well, comes a Pokémon that kind of resembles the Slowpoke and Slowbro of Mitch's home region. " King, Slow, Slow, Slowking," it angrily shouts as Mitch brings out his Pokedex. " Slowking, the Royal Pokémon, a Water and Psychic-type, one of the evolved forms of Slowpoke, being bitten on the head by Shellder gave it intelligence comparable to that of award-winning scientists." Mitch puts his Pokedex away before angrily glaring at a sweat dropping Cyndaquil, " Next time go a little easy with the attacks before you do something like.... I don't know: badly injure a Chikorita and make a Slowking mad!" " Slow, Slow, Slow, King, King," it angrily shots while stomping over to them and charging up an Aqua Tail. However, before it has time to attack them, Chikorita jumps in front of them and bravely stares down the Slowking.

         " Sloooooowwww," Slowking smirks as it stops its Aqua Tail and gets into a battle stance. Chikorita turns its face to look at Mitch, points its leaf at him, nods, and then turns back to face Slowking while getting into a battle stance itself. " Oh, I see. You want me to command you in battle. Alright, let's check out your moves," Mitch says as he grabs a Super Potion from his backpack and uses it on Chikorita before using the Pokedex to find out what moves it knows. " This Chikorita currently knows the moves Tackle, Growl, Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Poison Powder, Synthesis, Reflect, and Magical Leaf."  " Okay then, Chikorita, use Razor Leaf," Mitch orders as Chikorita summons a bunch of sharp green leaves and shoots them at Slowking. " Sloooooow," it shouts as it shoots a beam of brown energy out of gem on its shell. The Power Gem destroys the leaves, but Chikorita manages to jump out of the way in time to dodge the attack as Mitch commands it to, " Use Vine Whip!" " Ritaaaaaa," it shouts as two green vines shoot out from its neck and slap Slowking across the face. " Kiiiiiiing" it cries as it falls down on one knee and rubs its throbbing face. 

         " Use Magical Leaf while its down," Mitch orders as Chikorita summons a bunch of dark green (darker than the leaves used for Razor Leaf) leaves and fires them at Slowking. " Slooooooooowww," it cries as the leaves hit it in the side, but it still manages to get to its feet, coat its tail in water, and slam the tail into Chikorita. " Ritaaaaaaaa," it screams as the Aqua Tail, boosted in power by the rain, knocks it to the ground. However, it quickly gets back up as Mitch commands it to " Use Vine Whip, again!" Chikorita's vines lash out at Slowking, but Slowking's eyes glow pink and it uses the telekinetic powers from its Psychic attack to send the vines back to Chikorita: it takes damage from its own Vine Whip! " Ritaaaaaaa," it cries as it falls to its knees and struggles to stand as Slowking's head glows pink before it jumps at Chikorita with its head outstreched. "Two can play that game! Chikorita use Reflect," Mitch cries as Chikorita summons a glass-like screen in front of its body and Slowking bounces off of it. " Kiiiiiiing," it cries as it takes the damage that Chikorita would have taken from its Zen Headbutt, it lands on the ground with a loud thud and struggles to its feet. 

          " With a move like that, Chikorita and Hoothoot would make good friends," Mitch whispers to Cyndaquil, who nods in agreement. Chikorita gets back to its feet, but Slowking still struggles to stand. " Chikorita, time to finish this, use the most powerful Vine Whip that you can muster!" " Chiiiiiiiikooooooooritaaaaaaaaaaa," it screams as its vines lash out and slam into Slowking's chest, sending it flying high into the sky. " Sloooooooooooooooooooooow," it hollers as it flies off to an unknown location. " Chikkkk," Chikorita happily mumbles before it walks off to Mitch and points towards the Poke Balls on his belt using the leaf on its head.

          " My whole point of battling you in the first place was to try to catch you, so of course you can come with us," Mitch happily says as he takes an empty Poke Ball out of his backpack and throws it at Chikorita. The ball hits Chikorita in the chest, sucks it inside, and after a few seconds the capture noise goes off. However, since Mitch currently has six Pokémon on him, the ball shrinks down and turns black. " Cyndaa," Cyndaquil says in a confused and concerned tone, but its fears are put to rest when Mitch says, " it's okay, this is what happens when you catch a Pokémon while already having a full party. I know exactly what to do." Mitch takes the Poke Ball containing his Teddiursa off of his belt, brings his Pokedex back out, and touches Teddiursa's Poke Ball to the button labeled P.C., which teleports Teddiursa to Professor Oak's lab and causes the Poke Ball containing Mitch's newly caught Chikorita to return to normal.  Mitch takes Chikorita's ball and puts in on his belt before he and Cyndaquil both realize something: they are both soaked after spending so much time in the rain! They both begin to panic as Mitch points west while shouting, " Azalea Town is a few miles that way. We can dry off there, hopefully!" " Quillllll," Cyndaquil shouts in acknowledgement as they begin sprinting in the direction that Mitch was pointing in.
