Mitch's Johto Journey

Silver Conference: Round 2

  " It will appear that the next match of Round 2 is going to be taking place on this Water Battlefield," the announcer loudly yells whilst the crowd cheers and a large pool of water, with multiple small platforms scattered about, rises up from the stadium floor. " And for this battle it seems that we have Ricardo Cornelia from Cherrygrove City in the Left Corner and Mitch Harper from Pallet Town in the Right Corner," the announcer exclaims as Mitch and Ricardo ( who is actually the trainer that Mitch battled at the beginning of  " Bayleef Blossoms") walk up to the battlefield. After several seconds of cycling through each trainer's face, the jumbo trons stop on an image of Mitch's face. " Mr. Harper is getting the first move in this battle, so let it commence," the announcer hollers as Mitch pulls a Poké Ball from his pocket. 

  " Misdreavus, you're up first," Mitch yells as he throws the ball upwards. " Vvvvvusss, Mis, Mis, Misdreavus," it cackles whilst hovering several feet above the water. " Butterfree, let's see if we can do better than we did last time," Ricardo shouts as he throws a Poké Ball at the battlefield. " Free, Free, Butterfree, Free," it quietly buzzes whilst soaring into the air a couple of feet. " Start with Power Gem,"  Mitch orders before Misdreavus fires a beam of brown energy from the orb on its neck. " Prevent it from hurting you by using Harden and then attack with your Bug Buzz," Ricardo shouts before Butterfree's body flashes white and Power Gem harmlessly slams into it. " Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," it loudly cries whilst releasing a sound wave of yellowish green energy from its mouth. " Vuuuuuuuuussss," Misdreavus cries as the sound wave hits it and temporarily deafens it. A stunned Misdreavus floats around the battlefield and tries to regain its hearing. In its deafened state, Misdreavus is unable to hear Mitch's shouts for it to use Dazzling Gleam and Psybeam. " Butterfree, use Shadow Ball," Ricardo commands before Butterfree fires a large ball of black energy from its mouth. " Vussssssssss," it cries as the attack explodes on the side and knocks it down on one of the platforms. Whilst Misdreavus lies on the platform, its hearing returns to it and it manages to float back into the air. 

  " Use your Shadow Ball," Mitch exclaims as Misdreavus fires a black ball of energy from its mouth. " Freeeeeeeeeeeeeee," Butterfree cries as the attack explodes in its face and almost knocks it into the water. " Psybeam," Mitch and Ricardo shout simultaneously before both Misdreavus and Butterfree fire beams of pink energy from both of their eyes. The Psychic-type moves cancel each other out when they collide. " Butterfree, use U-turn," Ricardo hollers as Butterfree, with a line of yellowish green energy trailing behind it, quickly flies at Misdreavus, slams into it and then flies back into its Poké Ball, tapping another Poké Ball and releasing the Pokémon inside it on its way back in. " Tine, Tine, Mantine," a Mantine yells as it lands in the water. " Use Scald," Ricardo yells before Mantine releases a medium sized stream of steaming water from its mouth. " Vuuuuuuuuussssss," Misdreavus shouts as the water hits it in the face and knocks it back against the platform it was previously on. " Dreee," it whimpers with spirals in its eyes.

  " Mitch's Misdreavus becomes the first Pokémon to fall in this battle! But between the brief deafness from Bug Buzz and the surprise U-Turn into Mantine, it really doesn't like like it stood a chance," the announcer exclaims as Mitch recalls Misdreavus. " I think it's time my Kanto  Pokémon got some representation in this tournament! Cloyster, your turn starts now," he hollers as he throws a Poké Ball into the water. " Cloy, Cloy, Cloyster, Ster," it says with a grin as it appears in front of Mantine. " Use Shell Smash," Mitch exclaims as Cloyster's shell glows white and some cracks appear in the white energy. " Steeeeeerrrrrrrr," it shouts as the glowing stops and its body flashes bright red to show the increase of its Attack, Special Attack, and Speed as well as the lowering of its Defense and Special Defense. " It just made itself more vulnerable! Use Bullet Seed on it," Ricardo orders as Mantine lets loose a barrage of small, green energy seeds from its mouth. " Cloyyyyy," it grunts in frustration as the seeds explode on its face. " Use Aurora Beam," Mitch shouts whilst Cloyster shakes away the pain from the Bullet Seed. " Sssssttterrrr," it chatters as it releases a beam of energy from its mouth that looks similar to the Aurora Borealis. " Maaaaaaannnnn," Mantine cries as the beam knocks it against one of the platforms. " Icicle Crash," Mitch orders before Cloyster jumps high into the air and its body becomes encased in ice as it falls towards Mantine.   " Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnneee," Mantine loudly cries as Cloyster lands on its back, the ice shatters on impact, and both of them disappear beneath the water. After several minutes, Cloyster swims back up and watches as a defeated Mantine slowly floats back. " Tine," it whispers as it arrives as the surface and everybody gets a good luck at the spirals in its eyes.

 " And Mantine becomes Ricardo's first Pokémon to go down! The question now is: Will he bring Butterfree back out or will he use his third Pokémon!?" " Weezing, I choose you," Ricardo hollers as he recalls Mantine and then throws out a Dusk Ball. " Weez, Weez, Weezing, Zing, Weezing," they shout as they float over Cloyster. " Use Thunderbolt," he commands as yellow electricity surrounds Weezing's body. " Weeeeeeeeeeziiiiiiig," they yell as they fire a medium sized bolt of electricity from their center. " Cloooooooooyyyyyyyyyyy," Cloyster cries as the Super Effective move surges through its body. " Fight back with Hydro Pump," Mitch shouts as Cloyster fires a large stream of water from its mouth. " Ziiiiiiiiiiiggggggg," they cry as they are pushed several feet upward by the attack. " You fight back by using Gyro Ball," Ricardo yells as Weezing spins around for several seconds and then spits a ball of silver energy from the smaller head. " Use another Hydro Pump before it can hit you!" Cloyster fires the large water stream from its mouth and it ends pushing the Gyro Ball back into Weezing's face, making them take damage from both of the attacks. " Weeeeeeeeeeeee," they scream as they land on the platform beneath them and spirals form in all four of their eyes.

  " Amazing! Though Mitch started off with the disadvantage, Cloyster's use of Shell Smash has quickly allowed him to take the lead!" Ricardo sends Weezing back to their Dusk Ball and then throws Butterfree's Poké Ball into the air.  " Freeeee," it buzzes as it returns to the battlefield. " There's no running away for us this time, Butterfree, so use Pollen Puff," he orders as Butterfree spits a large ball of pollen, outlined in a yellowish green aura, from its mouth. " Use Withdraw and then Aurora Beam," Mitch shouts as Cloyster quickly shuts its shell and the Pollen Puff harmlessly explodes on it. " Sssssssttttterrrrr," it says as it opens its shell and releases the Aurora Borealis-like beam from it. " Fly out of its path and use Bug Buzz," Ricardo commands as Butterfree dodges the beam and releases the yellowish green sound wave from its mouth. " Steeeeeeerrrr," Cloyster cries as the Bug Buzz slams into it and causes it to fall over on its back. " Clooyy," it whines as spirals appear in its eyes.

  " Ricardo's Butterfree has easily managed to even this battle back up! Can Mitch's last Pokémon save him or will Ricardo prevail!?" " I think its finally time to bring out the big guns! Aerodactyl, it's your turn," Mitch yells as he returns Cloyster and throws out another Poké Ball. " Dact, Dact, Aerodactyl, Dact, Aero," Mitch's Aerodactyl, who is wearing its Aerodactylite necklace, roars as it appears in the battlefield. " Time for some Mega Evolution," he yells whilst pressing two fingers against his Key Stone Bracelet, causing both it and the Mega Stone in Aerodactyl's necklace to glow. " Aeeeeeeeroooooooooo," it screams as the multi-colored opaque ball surrounds its body. After about the minute, the ball disappears and Mega Aerodactyl lets loose a roar, " Daaaaaaaaactyl!" " Wing Attack," Mitch orders as both of Mega Aerodactyl's wings glow white and it slams them against Butterfree. " Freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee," it screams as the attack flings it into the side of one of the platforms. " Freeee," it, with one half of its body in the water and the other half on the platform, whimpers with spirals in its eyes. " And just like that, Mitch has won the battle thanks to the incredible power of Mega Evolution! And who knows, maybe we'll see another one of his Pokémon Mega Evolve in Round 3," the announcer excitedly yells whilst the crowd cheers and Aerodactyl returns to its normal form.
