Mitch's Johto Journey

An Eggciting Tournament ( Part 5)

  " At the end of today's round, four trainers will become two and one of those two trainers will be determined by this battle," the referee explains whilst the crowd lets out multiple cries of excitement. Mitch and another trainer both have enough time to walk up to the battlefield before the ref speaks again. " In the Left Corner, we have Mitch from Pallet Town and in the Right Corner, we have Valentino from Azalea Town! Valentino will be the one having the first move in this battle, so let it begin!" " Porygon2, get out here," Valentino yells whilst throwing out a Poké Ball. " 2, 2, Gon, Pory, Porygon2, Pory," it beeps whilst floating over the field. " Heracross, I choose you," Mitch hollers as he throws out a Poké Ball of its own. " Cross, Cross, Hera, Cross, Heracross, Hera," it yells as it appears and, surprisingly, doesn't flex its muscles. 

   " Use your Psybeam," Valentino orders as Porygon2 fires a beam of pink psychic energy out of both of its eyes. " Endure," Mitch hollers as Heracross braces itself against the ground and its body flashes white for a couple of seconds. The Psybeam slams into Heracross and does little damage thanks to the Endure. " Use Brick Break," Mitch exclaims as Heracross twists its glowing white right arm into an odd angle before quickly rushing forward and slamming the arm across Porygon2's head. " Poooooooooooryyyyyyyy," it cries as it is almost knocked out of the air by the attack. " Stay with me, Porygon2! Use Discharge," Valentino screams as Porygon2 manages to shake off the pain from the Brick Break. " Goooooooooooonnnn," it loudly beeps while releasing six bolts of electricity from of its body. " Croooooooooooooossssss," Heracross cries as the bolts give it a severe shock and briefly cause it to fall down on one knee. 

   " You got this Heracross! Give Rock Blast a try," Mitch commands as Heracross points its horn towards Porygon2. " Heraaaaaaaaaa," it yells as it begins to rapidly fire off small boulders from the space between the cross at the end of its horn. " Look out," Valentino cries out in desperation as Porygon2 tries to avoid the boulders. However, the last two to be fired off end up hitting Porygon2 in the side. " Goooooooooooonn," it shouts as it is knocked by the ground. " Use Megahorn," Mitch yells whilst Heracross' horn begins to glow a bright shade of yellowish green. Heracross moves forward and prepares to strike Porygon2 with the horn only for Porygon2 to get out of the way at the last second by using Agility.  " Tri Attack," Valentino mumbles as Porygon2 reappears behind Heracross with an orb made of fire, an orb made of ice, and an orb made of electricity above its head. " Poooooooooooorrrrrryy," it buzzes while slinging the orbs at Heracross.  " Crooooooooosssssss," it cries as the orbs explode on its back and knock it down on all fours. However, it quickly jumps back to its feet, turns around, and slams its still going Megahorn into Porygon2's body.  " Pooooooooooooorrrrrryy," it cries as it is flung backwards, landing on its face in the dirt. " Poorrr," it whines as spirals appear in its eyes.

  " Porygon2 can't battle anymore," the referee hollers as Valentino sends Porygon2 back to its Poké Ball. " Sandslash, you get out here now," Valentino yells whilst throwing another ball. " Slash, Slash, Sand, Sandslash," it squeaks as it appears and slices the air with its claws. " Crush Claw," Valentino mumbles as the claws on Sandslash's left arm glow crimson red. " Slaaaaaash," it cries out while running at Heracross. " Fight back with Megahorn," Mitch commands as Heracross slams its yellowish green horn against Sandslash's claws. The two of them clash for several minutes before one of the trainers decides to end the stalemate. " Heracross, use Pin Missile," Mitch shouts as Heracross begins to fire off yellowish green energy needles out of its antennas. " Slaaaaaaaaaaaash," it cries as the needles explode on its face and force it to pull back from its Crush Claw, allowing Heracross to slam Megahorn into Sandslash's chest. " Saaaaaaaaaaaaand," it cries as it is flung backwards by the Megahorn, landing on its back near Valentino.

  " Come on Sandslash, we won one of these tournaments a few months ago and we can do it again! Use Dig," Valentino shouts as Sandslash gets back up, digs a large hole in the ground, and jumps into it. " Wait for it to emerge and then use Seismic Toss," Mitch hollers as Heracross nods. " Slaaaaaaaaaash," Sandslash yells as it emerges behind Heracross and slices it across the back. Heracross winces in pain before turning around, grabbing Sandslash in its arms, jumping into the air, spinning around for a few seconds, and tossing it back to the ground. " Sssandddd," it groans as it lands back on the ground and Heracross lands in front of it. " Use Swift," Valentino yells as Sandslash spits multiple yellow energy stars out of its mouth. " Heraaaaaa," Heracross cries as the stars explode on its face and make it fall over on its back. Sandslash's head droops to the ground and spirals appear in its eyes. However, the Swift appears to have took out the rest of Heracross' health too as spirals have also formed in its eyes. 

  " Heracross and Sandslash are both incapable of continuing," the ref exclaims as each Pokémon is recalled. " Alakazam, I really need you right now," Valentino yells whilst tossing a Quick Ball into the air. " Kazam, Ala, Kazam, Zam, Alakazam," it whispers as it appears in a floating, meditation pose that it quickly gets out of.  " Misdreavus, I choose you," Mitch says while throwing a ball. " Mis, Mis, Vus, Misdreavus," it cackles as it floats over the field. " Psycho Cut," Valentino mumbles as a sword of pink energy appears in Alakazam's right hand and it prepares to strike Misdreavus with it. "Use Dazzling Gleam," Mitch exclaims as Misdreavus fires off six beams of pink energy from the orb on its neck. Alakazam manages to slice away one of the beams with its sword, but the other five hit it and explode on contact. " Zaaaaaaaaaaam," it cries as it falls over on its backside. " Use Shadow Ball while its down,"  he orders as Misdreavus fires off a large ball of black energy from its mouth. The Super Effective attack hits Alakazam and explodes, knocking it on its back. " Enough playing around! Teleport and use a Shadow Ball of your own," Valentino commands as Alakazam disappears in a flash of pink energy. Alakazam reappears behind Misdreavus and " Kaaaaaaaaaaaazaaaaaaaaaaam," shoots the Shadow Ball from the small space between its two spoons. " Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiissssssss," it cries as the attack explodes on the back of its head and knocks it to the ground. 

   " Vvusss," Misdreavus mumbles with spirals in its eyes. " Misdreavus is done," the ref shouts before Mitch returns the defeated Ghost-type. " Let's Go, Wooper," he yells as he throws out one last Poké Ball. " Woop, Woop, Wooper, Woop, Wooper," it cheerfully cries as it lands in the battlefield. " Psycho Cut," " Ice Punch," Alakazam slams its pink energy sword against the ice fist that has sprouted out of Wooper's right side. Eventually, the two of them stop their clash and return to their original positions. " Use Trailblaze," Mitch shouts as Wooper's body becomes outlined in light green energy. " Woooooop," it yells as it lunges and slams its entire body into Alakazam's chest, almost knocking the wind out of it. " Alaaaa,"it grunts while it rubs its chest and Wooper's body flashes green to show that its Speed was elevated. " Alakazam, we've played around for far too long! End that Wooper with Hyper Beam!" " Alaaaaaaaaaaaakaaaaaaazaam," it loudly cries out as a large beam of bright red energy is fired from between its spoons.  

  " Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooop," Wooper cries out as the blast flings it high into the air. It lands on its head with a painful sounding thump before falling over on its back, appearing to have been knocked unconscious. However, just when the referee is about to declare Valentino the winner of the battle, Wooper jumps back to its feet and, without a sound, starts to glow in a blinding white light. " You've got to be shitting me," Valentino mumbles as Alakazam goes into Recharge mode. 'Quaaaaaaaag," Mitch's newly evolved Quagsire mumbles as the light fades away. " Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokémon, a Water and Ground-type, the evolved form of Wooper, due to its relaxed and carefree attitude, it often bumps its head on boulders and boat hulls as it swims."  " Okay Quagsire, let's give the move you learned when you evolved a try! Use Muddy Water," Mitch exclaims as Quagsire stomps its right foot on the ground, sending a small wave of dark brown water at Alakazam. " Zaaaaaaaaaaaam," it yells as the wave washes over it and makes it fall to the ground.  

   " Zaaamm," a dripping wet Alakazam moans before spirals form in its eyes. " Alakazam is unable to battle! Mitch will be the one of the trainers heading to the final round of this tournament!" " You did it Quagsire! Thanks to you, we're one step closer to winning that egg," Mitch happily cries out as he runs forward and embraces the freshly evolved Water/Ground-type. " Quaaagg," it says with a carefree expression on its face.
