Mitch's Johto Journey

The Blackthorn City Gym Battle ( Part 1)

  "Are we sure this isn't a Fire-type gym," Mitch groans whilst he and Typhlosion walk over a long concrete bridge over a lake of lava. Eventually, they reach a battlefield that is surrounded on all sides by concrete walls and has a large, deep pool of water in the center of it. At the other end of this battlefield, Clair sits on a throne in the shape of a dragon's head. " You're Mitch Harper correct," she asks while standing up. "Yeah," he says as she eagerly grins. " I was told by Pryce that you would be coming here and the gym trainer I left in charge of the gym yesterday told me that you stopped by. So... are you prepared for a six on six battle for your final Johto gym badge," she asks while pulling out a Dive Ball. " I figured you would say that, so I brought a whole team of Johto Pokémon with me! Let's do this," he eagerly exclaims before grabbing a Poké Ball from his pocket. They both grin at each other before silently throwing their respective balls into the air. 

  " Pup, Pup, Tar, Pupitar, Tar," " Dra, Dratini, Tini, Dra, Dra," Mitch's Pupitar and Clair's Dratini shout as they appear in the battlefield. " We'll start with Snarl," Mitch yells before Pupitar releases a sound wave of black energy from its mouth. " And we'll avoid that and use Dragon Tail," Clair shouts as Dratini jumps over the Dark-type attack and its tail begins to glow green with a scaled pattern. " Draaaaaa," it whispers while preparing to strike Pupitar with the tail. " Oh, I don't think so! Use Crunch! " Taaaar," it grunts whilst its mouth becomes outlined by a dark black energy and it powerfully bites down on Dratini's tail. " Tinnnnnniiiii," it cries as its attack fades away. " Nice try, but Dratini still has a mouth! Use Icy Wind!" "Drrrrrrrrraaaaa," it whispers whilst releasing  multiple small snow flurries from its mouth. " Taaaaaaaarrr," it grunts in a slightly pained tone as it is forced to release Dratini from its grip. " Now use Fire Spin," she hollers before Dratini shakes its head and releases a a stream of spinning fire from its mouth. " Fight back with Stone Edge," Mitch exclaims. "Taaaaaarrrr," it yells while it summons a bunch of rectangular stones with sharp tips and sends them towards Dratini. The Stone Edge rocks slam into the Fire Spin flames and destroy them before moving on and exploding on Dratini's chest. " Tiiiiiiiniiiii," it cries as it falls over on its back. " Tiiii," it whines before spirals appear in its eyes. 

   " Great work, but that was barely even a warm up! Gyarados, show them what I mean," Clair shouts whilst recalling Dratini and throwing out a Net Ball. Gyarados lands in the pool in the center of the battlefield and lets out a loud roar, " Gyaaaaaaaaaaraaaadoos," " Ice Fang," she orders as Gyarados' teeth become coated in ice and it moves towards Pupitar with its mouth outstretched. " Try to push it back with Snarl," Mitch shouts before Pupitar releases the black sound wave. " Dosssssss," Gyarados groans as it takes damage from the Snarl, but that doesn't stop its attack. ( it still lowers its Special Attack though) " Dooooooooosssss," it roars whilst biting down on to Pupitar's head with its icy fangs. " Taaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr," it cries as Gyarados begins to lift it off the ground. " Now use Aqua Tail," she yells as Gyarados coats its tail in water and slams it against Pupitar, knocking it out of its mouth. 

  " Puuuuuupppppp," Pupitar cries as it lands on its back with a loud thud, but slowly manages to get back up. " Try to use Payback," Mitch yells as Pupitar's body briefly flashes black and a much larger Pupitar made of black energy comes out of its body and hits Gyarados in the chest, exploding on contact. " Doooooooooosssssss," it yells as it is left temporarily stunned by the attack. Mitch quickly takes advantage of the state Gyarados is in and shouts a command to Pupitar, " Use Stone Edge!" " Taaaaaarrrrr," it loudly groans as it summons the sharp tipped stones and sends them at Gyarados. " Gyaaaaaaraaaaaaa," it cries as the stones strike it on the chest, explode, and knock it against the concrete wall. " Stay Strong! Use Crunch,"  Clair exclaims as Gyarados' mouth becomes outlined by a dark black energy and it prepares to bite down on Pupitar. " Not this time! Scary Face followed by Hyper Beam!" " Taaaaaaaarrrrrr," it growls as its eyes glow bright red and it stares at Gyarados with an enraged look on its face. " Dooooossss," it groans as it is forced to stop its attack and its body flashes red to show that its Speed stat has been decreased. " Puuuuuuuuuuupiiiiiiiiitaaaaaaaaaaaarrr," it loudly exclaims whilst releasing a beam of bright red energy from its mouth. " Gyaaaaaaaaaaaraaaaaaaaaaaa," it screams as Hyper Beam hits it directly in the face and pushes it back against the concrete wall. " Dddossss," it groans as it falls to the ground and spirals form in its eyes.
