Mitch's Johto Journey

The Single Horn Life

                    Still on their way to Violet City, Mitch and Cyndaquil are currently walking down a dirt path in the middle of a forest. Suddenly, a pained cry comes from above them, " Beeeeeeee!" " What the heck was that" Mitch exclaims as he and Cyndaquil desperately look around and an injured and tired looking Beedrill lands on the ground in front of them. " Bee, Beee, Beee," it mumbles as it struggles to get back to its feet. " Hang on, Beedrill, we can help," Mitch says as he searches through his backpack for a Full Restore. However, before Mitch has time to find the medicine, something lands in between them and Beedrill. " Heraaaaa," a large dark blue beetle-like Pokémon with a large horn (that ends in a cross, so this Heracross is male) shouts as it scoops the Beedrill up with its horn and throws it so far back into the forest that the trees block it from view.  The Pokémon victoriously smirks before the sound of Mitch's Pokedex causes it to turn around to face him and Cyndaquil. 

              " Heracross, the Single Horn Pokémon, a Bug and Fighting type, this Pokémon takes pride in its strength, which allows it to lift things 100 times heavier than itself with no trouble at all." " Hera, Hera, Heracross, Cross, Hera," it confidently shouts at them while flexing its muscles. " Well, okay, if you want a fight, we'll give you a fight. Hoothoot, I choose you!" " Hoot, Hoot, Hoothoot, Hoot," it screeches as it flies into the sky and hovers over Heracross. " Use Peck," Mitch commands as Hoothoot's beak glows white and it descends towards Heracross.  " Crosss," it winces as it allows the attack to hit it. " Heraaaaaa," the horn on its head briefly glows white before it slams it into Hoothoot's tiny body. " Hoooot," it cries as the Horn Attack knocks it to the ground before Heracross rushes forward and begins to rapidly and repeatedly strike Hoothoot with its horn. " Hooooooooooot," it cries as the Fury Attack slowly withers at its health. Eventually, the assault stops and Heracross backs away as Hoothoot weakly flies back into the air. Heracross begins to use another Horn Attack, but right when it starts to fly at Hoothoot, Mitch shouts, " quick, use Reflect!"  " Hoooot," it screeches as its eyes briefly glow pink and a large and clear glass-like square appears in front of its body. " Heraaaaaaa," a surprised Heracross shouts as its attack bounces off of the square and it takes the damage that Hoothoot was going to take from the Horn Attack. " Crosssssss," it cries as it lands very hard on its back and Mitch yells, " Use Peck while it's down!" 

                " Hooooot," Hoothoot screeches as it flies down and hits Heracross between the eyes with its glowing white beak. " Heraaaaaaaaa," it cries before it quickly jumps to its feet, twists its glowing white right arm into an odd angle, and slams it into Hoothoot's face. " Hoooooooot," it screams as the Brick Break knocks it backwards and it lands in front of Mitch with spirals in its eyes. Heracross confidently smirks and flexes its muscles again while Mitch returns Hoothoot to its Poke Ball. " I wouldn't get so overconfident that quickly. Go, Teddiursa!" " Ursaaaaaaaaa," it cries as it lands in front of Heracross and confidently smirks at it. " Hit it with Fury Swipes," Mitch orders as the claws on both of Teddiursa's paws glow white and it rushes toward Heracross. " Heraaaaaaa," it yells as it meets Teddiursa's Fury Swipes head on with its Fury Attack. " Hera," " Ursa," " Cross," " Teddii,"" Hera," Ursa," they shout as their attacks continuously bounce off of each other.  Eventually, both attacks come to a stop and Heracross quickly grabs Teddiursa in its arms, jumps into the air, and spins around for about a minute before throwing Teddiursa to the ground. " Ursaaaaaaa," it cries as it hits the ground and struggles to recover from the Seismic Toss attack. " Crossssss," Heracross mumbles as it lands in front of Teddiursa and prepares for another attack. However, Teddiursa manages to recover in enough time for Mitch to shout, " Use Lick!"

            " Ursaaaaaa," Teddiursa shouts as it powerfully licks Heracross in the chest. Electricity surges through the body of Heracross to show that the Lick attack has paralyzed it. " Heraaaaaaaaaa," it shouts as it prepares to use Brick Break, but is halted by its Paralysis, allowing Teddiursa to slice it across the face with Scratch. Heracross quickly recovers and slams a Brick Break across Teddiursa's head, knocking it to the ground and knocking it unconscious. " Teeeed," it weakly whimpers as spirals appear in its eyes and Mitch recalls it to its ball. " Get in there, Cyndaquil," Mitch orders as Cyndaquil ignites its back flame and rushes forward to face Heracross. " Use Quick Attack," Mitch exclaims as Cyndaquil runs very fast towards Heracross with a white energy streak trailing behind it. Heracross tries to counter with Brick Break, but is stopped by its paralysis, allowing Cyndaquil to slam its body the chest of Heracross. " Heraaaaaa," it cries as it skids backwards a few feet, but quickly recovers, rushes forward, and hits Cyndaquil with Horn Attack. " Cyndaaaaaaa," it shouts as it falls backwards, but quickly recovers as Mitch calls for it to," Use Ember!" " Cyndaaaaaaa," it screams as it fires multiple small fireballs out of its mouth that hit Heracross in the face and explode. " Heraaaaaaaa," it yells as it is briefly knocked to its knees. However, Heracross quickly gets back up, rushes forward, grabs Cyndaquil, and uses Seismic Toss again. 

           " Quilllllll," Cyndaquil shouts in pain as it hits the ground hard, but quickly manages to get back on its feet as Heracross lands in front of it. " Heraaaaaaaa," it cries as it prepares a Brick Break, but is stopped by its paralysis. " Cyndaquil, use Ember while it's feeling the effects of its paralysis," Mitch quickly orders as, " Cyndaaaaaaaaa," it shoots the fire balls of its mouth. " Heraaaaaaaa," it cries in pain as the attack hits it in the chest and explodes. " Heraa," it weakly whispers as it falls to its knees whilst clutching its chest. Eventually, all the damage that Heracross has taken finally takes its toll, it falls over on its belly with spirals in its eyes. " Okay, there's no way I'm passing up on something like this. Let's go, Poke Ball," Mitch exclaims as he grabs a Poke Ball from his backpack and throws it at the unconscious Heracross. The ball bonks Heracross on the tip of its horn and sucks it inside as it begins to shake. It takes about 3 minutes, but the capture noise goes off and Mitch walks up to the ball, picks it up, and eagerly grins as he realizes that he has just caught a powerful ally.
