An Eggciting Tournament ( Part 4)

    " We will end the 4th round of this Harebell Town Tournament with this battle! Mitch from Pallet Town will battle in the left corner while Ciel from Cianwood City will be in the right corner," the referee hollers as Mitch and another trainer approach the the battlefield. " It has been decided that Ciel will be the one that goes first," the ref confirms as the two trainers reach the battlefield. " Alright! Go Girafarig," Ciel yells whilst throwing a Great Ball. " Gira, Gira, Gira, Girafarig, Rig," it yells while kicking up some dust. " Ariados, I choose you," Mitch shouts while tossing out a Poké Ball. " Dos, Dos, Aria, Dos, Dos," it says as it scratches at the ground with one of its legs. 

  " Use Twin Beam," Ciel orders as Girafarig fires a beam of pink energy out of its left eye. " Dodge it," Mitch screams as Ariados jumps out of the way, but ends up getting hit by a beam from Girafarig's right eye. " Dooooooooooosss," it cries as it lands on its back and slowly gets back up. " Stay strong, Ariados! Use X-Scissor," Mitch yells as Ariados' front legs glow yellowish green while it uses them to form an x shape. " Ariaaaaaaaaaaa," it yells as it slams the attack across Girafarig's face. " Giraaaaaaaaam" it cries as it stumbles backwards and almost falls to the ground. " Don't go down yet! Use Stomp," Ciel cries as Girafarig's left front hoof glows white and it jumps at Ariados. " Counter with Electroweb," Mitch commands as Ariados spits a web of electricity out of its mouth. The web covers Girafarig's body and begins to shock it, forcing it to stop its Stomp. " Giraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa," it cries as it hits the ground on its side and the web continues to shock it. 

  " Ariados, be ready to use Cross Poison," Mitch says as Ariados' front legs begin to glow purple and it crosses them into an X shape. Eventually, the web disappears from Girafarig's body and it tries to get back on its feet, only for Ariados to slam Cross Poison across its back, knocking it back to the ground. " Giraaaaaaaaa," it cries as it lands face first. To everyone's surprise, Girafarig is still unconscious, it gets back on its feet and begins to shake off the pain from the attacks. " That's the spirit! Use Iron Tail," Ciel orders as Girafarig's tail becomes coated in metal and it jumps towards Ariados. " Fight back with Poison Jab," Mitch shouts as the horn on Ariados' forehead glows purple and extends a few inches before it lunges at the incoming Girafarig. The two of them pass by the other in the air and strike at each other's sides with their attacks, both of them landing powerful hits. " Ariaaaaaaaaaaaaa," " Faaaaaaariiiiiigg," they scream simultaneously before they hit the ground with loud thuds. " Dooss," " Girrra," they grumble as spirals form in their eyes.

  " Both Girafarig and Ariados are unable to continue," the referee exclaims as both Pokémon are sent back to their balls. " Umbreon, come on out," Ciel shouts whilst throwing out an Ultra Ball. " Um, Um, Breon, Umbreon," it shouts as it lands in a battle pose. " Let's go, Houndoom," MItch hollers as he throws a ball in front of him. " Doom, Doom, Houndoom, Hound, Houndoom," it snarls as it appears in front of Umbreon and gets into a similar battle pose. " Use Double Kick," Ciel yells as both of Umbreon's back feet glow white. " Breeeee," it growls as it jumps and kicks Houndoom in the face with both of its glowing feet, one foot after the other. " Doooooooom," Houndoom whimpers as it stumbles backwards a few feet and shakes away the pain. " Sludge Bomb," Mitch exclaims as Houndoom spits multiple balls of purple slime out of its mouth. " Ummmmmmmmm," Umbreon cries as the sludge balls explode on its back. However, the pain does end there as a surge of purple energy surges through Umbreon's body: the Sludge Bomb poisoned it! 

  " Ummmmmmmm," Umbreon groans as the Poison damage continues. However, a small black and purple energy dart is fired on from the center of the ring on Umbreon's forehead. The dart strikes Houndoom on the chest and melts into its body. " Dooooooooooooooooooom," it howls in a pained tone as Poison damage surges through its body. " What the crap just happened," Mitch yells as he brings out his Pokédex. " Synchronize. If a Pokémon with this ability gets a Status Condition, its opponent will receive that exact same Status Condition." Umbreon and Ciel both grin and chuckle as Houndoom shakes off the pain from the Poison Damage. " Dooom," it growls in an aggravated tone as Mitch shouts an order, " Use Flamethrower!" " Dooooommmmm," it howls whilst shooting the medium sized fire stream from its mouth. " Defend yourself with Sand Attack," Ciel mumbles as Umbreon uses its back legs to kick some dirt at the Flamethrower, extinguishing it. Houndoom lets out another agitated growl before more Poison damage surges through both it and Umbreon's body, almost causing both of them to fall down. 

  " Double Kick," " Fire Fang," Ciel and Mitch order at the same time as Umbreon prepares to strike Houndoom with its glowing white back paws. However, Umbreon only manages to strike Houndoom with one of the paws, Houndoom bites down on the other paw with its fire coated teeth. " Breeeeeeeeeeonnn," it screams as it tries to get out of Houndoom's jaws. " It's at your mercy now, use Flamethrower," Mitch shouts as Houndoom tries to use the attack, but ends up being stopped by Poison damage. " Dooooooom," it whines as the pain forces it to release Umbreon, who is also being afflicted by the poison, from its mouth. The Poison ends up taking its toll on both Pokémon as they fall on the ground belly first and spirals appear in their eyes. 

 " Neither Umbreon nor Houndoom can continue fighting," the ref shouts as both Pokémon are recalled. " Furret, it all comes down to you," Ciel shouts while slinging a Fast Ball into the battlefield. " Fur, Fur, Furret," it squeaks as it gracefully lands in the battlefield. " I choose Bayleef," Mitch cries whilst tossing a ball in Furret's direction. " Leef, Leef, Bay, Bayleef, Bay," it huffs as it takes its place on the field. " Attack with Slam," Ciel orders as the end of Furret's tail starts to glows white. " Reeeetttttttt," it cries as it bounces towards Bayleef. " Counter with Bullet Seed and then use Vine Whip," Mitch cries as Bayleef spits multiple seeds of dark green energy from its mouth. Furret is forced to use its Slam to knock away the Bullet Seed, allowing Bayleef to give it a powerful slap across the face with Vine Whip. " Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrr," it screams as it is flung through the air by the vines, landing on its head in front of Ciel with a very loud thud. 

  Furret rubs its head a few times before jumping back to its feet. " Time to get serious! Use Ice Beam," Ciel commands as Furret shoots a medium sized beam of ice out of its mouth. " Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay," Bayleef exclaims as the attack hits it in the chest and pushes it backwards. " Oh yeah! Now use Flamethrower," he yells as Furret fires a medium sized fire stream from its mouth. The flames rapidly move towards a still recovering Bayleef as Mitch lets out a desperate order, " Use Reflect!" Bayleef's eyes briefly flash pink and a clear glass-like square materializes in front of its body. The Flamethrower hits the square and is sent back towards Furret. " Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeettttt," it screams as the flames engulf its body. The flames burn out and Furret, whose body is covered in scorch marks, falls to the ground. " Rettt," it mumbles as spirals form in its eyes. 

  " Furret is unable to battle! Mitch gets to proceed to Round 5," the referee shouts as the crowd celebrates and Mitch makes his way over to Bayleef. " I really don't like ending battles that way, but I was desperate," he says while patting Bayleef on the neck. " Bay, Bay," it replies with a nod as it uses one of its vines to rub him on the shoulder.
